So we went to war last week, and again I’ve come out on the losing end, and again there were extenuating circumstances. Doc, you couldn’t just hold on for a little bit longer could you? You think that you can just show up like a ninja after not saying a word all last week and win? Then, not only do you not win, but you tap out.
YOU GIVE UP!
Now that match may have not meant much to you but it was supposed to be the beginning of something big for me. I showed the world what I said I’d show them. I went toe to toe with the likes of Xavier Cross and Joe Everyman and I came out undeterred. I proved what I wanted to prove to the world, and although I didn’t win, and this journey didn’t start out the way I wanted it to, the journey has indeed started.
Last week, a statement was made and I intend to improve upon it. I intend to enlighten the world on exactly what it is I am, and I do that each and every week by stepping into that ring and taking on anyone who sees things in a different light…a dimmer light.
Doc, you were weak and it showed at the most inopportune time for me. Now, I have no caring about you or your weakness at all. You had this grand comeback in mind and now it has simply fallen by the wayside. You are nothing and you never will be again.
Xavier, Joe, you took advantage of the weak link of my team and for that you are commended. Anyone would have done the same thing. I would have done the same thing and I did. Last week the weak link wasn’t the lower-tiered champion that is Xavier Cross. Last week the weak link was the man who represents this company. Our top champion, the Imperial Champion, was the weak link. For someone who has all the heart in the world, it must take up your entire body because there sure as hell isn’t a brain cell in existence in your physical being.
That Joe, is why you won’t have that belt long. You say that I am the “you” of long ago but you couldn’t be farther from the truth. The “you” from long ago is still here Joe and I am not a damn thing like you…I am better. You hold that prop on your shoulder for as long as you can, because soon, and I can only pray that it is at Legacy, someone will take it from you and legitimize it as the Championship it should be.
Luckily for you, you don’t face me at Legacy because I would do just that. I have other plans.
Which brings me to this week. Live on Sacrifice, I take on Stephen Kingsley. I take on a man who enjoys nothing more than hunting crocodiles and letting his pasty face sister sleep with his enemy.
I’ll admit plain as day that I have not a care in the world for you Stephen. You aren’t in my plans, and hell you’re barely even going to be a footnote in the book that is my Legacy.
You see, that’s what it’s all about around here.
Unless you’re a big time contender or champion in this business, nobody cares about you. That’s where you’re stuck Kingsley. Nobody cares about you because all of this time, though you were Number One Contender to the Tag Team Titles, the entire world knows that you were being carried to these heights by your partner. While you were making wallets and shoes from crocodile skins, your partner was rising to heights that you can only hope to one day get to.
While you were screwing around doing absolutely nothing to benefit anybody, he was advancing his career. So now you sit there and you stew as your former partner not only goes on to be something better than you, but takes your sister along for the ride.
How does it feel Stephen?
To be helpless?
To be useless?
To sit there on the sideline and watch as everyone else passes you by with their own plans?
I will continue the trend. I will beat you this Monday and move on and you’ll be nothing but road kill in the rear-view mirror. Again, you will sit there, and again you will stew, and then you’ll pick your head up and look to the sky and you’ll see the rest of the world, moving on without you.

Title: No Relapse
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Time: 9:28 AM Local Time
Those days where you have nothing to do and you can just lie in bed for an extended period of time. Everyone needs one of those days, and it just so happens that I got one. So as the sun peaks in through the window of our Grand Rapids hotel, I began to stir, rustle around in bed until I turned to face Alexis who was in a peaceful sleeping state. Just seeing her face brought a joy to me that only she could inflict upon me. I propped my head up with me arm and just stared. She must have sensed my eyes upon her as she began to stir, and eventually opened her eyes. As her vision became clear and she set her eyes upon mine, she slowly smiled at me.
Mike Laszlo: Good morning beautiful.
She turns onto her back and stretches her arms out to the side. As she inhales a deep breath, she lets out a groan as she stretches her limbs. Quickly she twitches as her leg cramps up.
Alexis Caffrey: Ow!
Sitting up I grab hold of her thigh and slowly begin to rub out the cramp, stretching her muscle out, eventually causing it to subside.
Alexis Caffrey: Phew.
Mike Laszlo: I hate when that happens.
Alexis Caffrey: I know right? It hurts so much.
Reaching back, I prop up the pillows on the headboard and lean into them. Alexis re-positions herself in my arms, leaning up against my chest.
Alexis Caffrey: You seem to be in a good mood.
Mike Laszlo: Why? Should I not be?
Alexis Caffrey: No, it’s fine. It’s just…different.
Mike Laszlo: How so?
Alexis Caffrey: You’re…how do I put it? More cheery?
Mike Laszlo: (Chuckling) What? I can’t be in a good mood? I’m nice and relaxed. I’m laying here with the most beautiful girl in the world in my arms, and I have not a care in the world.
She repositions again and props her own head up with her arm against the pillow.
Alexis Caffrey: Really? Even though you lost this weekend?
Mike Laszlo: Yeah. I told you, I cleared my head last week and did some deep thinking.
Alexis Caffrey: What did you come up with?
Mike Laszlo: Well, and I’ve felt this way for a while, I take work home with me way too much. It needs to be like a backpack.
Alexis Caffrey: Okay. Now I’m confused.
Mike Laszlo: You know, something I can take off and leave at work. So I resemble it to a backpack. It’s a backpack full of all the crap from work that I wear while I’m there, but then, soon as work is done and I’m ready to come home, I slip it right off my back and leave it there.
Alexis Caffrey: That makes sense. I won’t complain, I like the relaxed, calm you.
Mike Laszlo: Trust me, the other guy is still there.
Leaning in she gives me a kiss, and backs away with a smile.
Alexis Caffrey: Can we keep him hidden for a little while?
Before I can answer she leans in again and gives me another kiss. She then backs away again with the same smile on her face.
Mike Laszlo: As long I get rewards like that, sure.
Alexis Caffrey: Well in that case…
She crawls on top of me, throwing her body on top of mine, splitting her legs with my body in between as she lies on my chest.
Alexis Caffrey: Just wait til we get home.
She leans in again for another kiss and then sets her head down on my chest. With her voice muffled slightly she inquires on our stay.
Alexis Caffrey: So how long are we here anyway?
Mike Laszlo: Til the end of the week. We have a show here, and then we can go home. We’ll just take the jet back.
She pushes herself up on my chest again so that she is peering into my eyes.
Alexis Caffrey: Thank God. I’m ready to go.
Mike Laszlo: I won’t lie, me too.
Alexis Caffrey: I love you.
Mike Laszlo: I love you too.
She leans in and we started kissing again as the scene fades.
====================
I’ve come to a great realization in life. There needs to be a balance between business and personal life. For all of this time, all the years I’ve been in the crazy world of professional wrestling I don’t think I’ve ever had that balance.
Sure I’ve kept my daughter away, and even though Alexis works with me, for the most part I’ve kept that separate too, as has she. That’s not the part I’m talking about though. It is also going to be your downfall Kingsley.
You’re probably sitting there with your head in a pint that once contained alcohol and you’re probably asking yourself, how the hell is what he saying apply to me.
Listen and listen good to what I’m about to say because it is the truth.
You are sucked into the revolving door that is the blur between life and business. Your sister is in this business. Your friend has betrayed you within this business and then goes into your personal life and takes a family member with him. Due to their relationship, you aren’t able to separate personal and business and that will be your…as it has been mine…downfall.
Now you can tell me I lost last week, and the fact is that’s very true. The fact of the matter is however, that’s just a match. One match does not define a legacy. It will not define the legacy I’m working hard to achieve. What will define that legacy is a string of matches; a string of moments to be put together to define my career.
You won’t even be a footnote in that career Stephen. All you are is a random match against a random opponent…a random win against another random opponent.
Say what you will because any word that is spoken from your mouth will have no bearing whatsoever on the outcome. When Sacrifice is over, there will only be one man with his hand held high, and that man will be me.
I just wish it meant more…it doesn’t.
YOU GIVE UP!
