{Sense is seen walking into a warehouse. Once inside he finds himself surrounded by others. One of them happens to be Xander. Besides Xander, Eternity can be seen off in a corner off in her own little world.}
Lex Sense: Let us celebrate.
Several hours later...
{Sounds of some sort of celebration can be heard echoing through the walls. A loud and raucous event occurring after the successful outing that was Legacy. Two new champions were crowned and with them a new direction for IWF. One of said champions now sits in the middle of his chamber of solitude. A room with dangling hooks attached to chains and several other pieces of oddly sculpted furniture used to torture in order to bend others to his will. The champion sits on a stool, grasping the Imperial Title as he stares into his reflection in gold almost in disbelief of his accomplishment.}
I was never a young child playing dress-up and dreaming of being a champion one day.
That dream manifested itself much later in life after realizing the hardships a wrestler is faced with on a daily basis.
It is the grandest reward that works to solidify a man's career.
The physical embodiment of success.
Oddly enough, as I stare at the Imperial Title in my hands, I find myself reverting back to a child as I celebrate this victory. It is almost as surreal to say that I am a company's champion.
Yet, here I sit.
{The belt is raised and propped on his massive shoulder. Sense stares away from the camera, to the joyful noises that can be heard just outside the wall.}
And here the belt will sit for a long time. I have become a territorial dog looking to bark and bite in order to protect what is mine and I know many of you out there have begun to whisper. The rumors have quickly spread as though this union between Xander and I somehow involves Roberto as well. Some of you even think this belt was handed to me. Gift wrapped by one of the CEOs himself. I can understand where you are coming from but I can assure you that nobody gave me anything.
I earned it by being the dominant being I am.
This may be difficult to believe, but I respect Joe. He was able to do what many, including me, thought he could not. For this very reason alone he deserves some of the accolades and praise showered upon him since. He fought with a full heart and it showed in his body of work. Just as quickly as it came it went away as I utilized everything in my power to crush his beating heart and end the foolish dreams that he resurrected by doing the impossible.
While Joe will always be the first to win, he will also be the first to lose just 1 month later.
{His meaty paw pets the belt as if petting a cat, a sadistic smirk of certainty curling his lips.}
Joe made a fabulous point at Lineage. However, that message was quickly lost and buried when I held him down for the three at Legacy. Now all that remains are shattered dreams and the broken heart of a broken hero. But do not fret, people. We will give you a new dream to latch unto. We will give to you a gift of violent punishment that will not only impact IWF but the world as well. We will show how champions should act and you will sit there and watch as your heroes die one after the other. I will not let my reign end in one month. Whether I face Joe, Xavier, Rob or even you Spike.
I will vanquish any and all contenders.
Tonight is a night of celebration. Truth be told we have celebrated every night since Legacy. However, soon the party will end and the path will begin to be paved over every single one of you. Winning is easy. Defending brings out the truth of what lies in the innards of a champion. Most people find success in finally earning the right to hold a title up high. What most people also find is foolish contentment. They forget how hard it is as they imagined themselves to have finally proven whatever point it was they were trying to make in the first place. However, it never ends with one victory. It is ongoing struggle that a champion must face and I will find great success by keeping it held high for a very long time.
I understand that Joe's ending is only my beginning.
I understand that the work just got harder and that now more than ever there is reason to prove and test myself against the creme of the crop. My mission has yet to be accomplished. I look forward in giving the world a might and strength not to be feared but to be respected and admired. There have been plenty of champions before me and there will be plenty after, but there will only be one champion named Lex Sense and one reign that will outshine and outlast every single one of them. Maybe I don't deserve this in your eyes...
But I will show you just how blind you are.
{Sense stands from his post, walking towards the door with no distractions to keep him. The door is swung open, allowing light into the room for just long enough to get a glimpse of a woman bound to the wall in a corner. The celebratory shouts from the outside seep in for the moment until Sense closes the door behind him. The whimpers of a gagged woman are heard in darkness as the scene fades. A few moments is spent in the black until the scene transitions. Sense stands underneath a lightpost in some park in Who Knows, USA. He stares towards a playground, watching two young girls as they skip and play.}
Mr. West: You finally did it.
{Sense doesn't respond, his eyes never stray. He remains focused on the girls at play as a balding monkey in a suit creeps up behind him.}
Mr. West: Why not go over there and say hello?
Lex Sense: You know why.
Mr. West: I find it rather odd that instead of celebrating with your new sect I find you here, watching over them.
{Once again Sense remains silent as West stands beside him, an almost pitiful expression for his client or friend depending on which point of view it is seen.}
Mr. West: They are fine. Her new marriage is going well even though you tried your best to ruin it. But I'm sure they would be happy to hear from yo...
Lex Sense: I do not need you to help me with this. I did not come here for them.
Mr. West: Yet, here you stand. Merely a few feet away hardly inconspicuous. I know you, Lex. I have since you were a small boy and I know when something is troubling you.
Lex Sense: That you do.
{Sense shoots the old man a glance. This man was more of a father than his true father ever was and it was obvious that he could read the big man quite well.}
Lex Sense: I have my reasons for doing what I do. Xander and I have some goals in mind when it comes to IWF. As a unit we are nigh unstoppable. With the addition of Eternity I believe we are well on our way with meeting our goals.
Mr. West: But?
{Lex looks a bit annoyed at West's constant prodding but if anybody could get away with it it would be him.}
Lex Sense: Something continues to allude me.
Mr. West: Perhaps you are over-thinking things at the moment. You just won a huge title. Something you have been striving for for many years. It is not wrong for you to be celebrating at this moment.
Lex Sense: I have celebrated enough. My title win was not enough. Joe was correct in saying that that grand moment would not satiate me the way I thought it would. My tastes have been pointed towards a new selfish desire that I fear could be my undoing.
{Moment of silence ensues, cut only by the distant laughter of young girls. The much shorter lawyer raises his arm just to reach and pat the big man on his shoulder.}
Mr. West: Are you not ecstatic over what you've accomplished?
Lex Sense: That is not the point. Satisfaction at becoming the Imperial Champion is not the issue. I found great joy and now find myself excited to see where this journey takes us. I just expect more from myself now. I fear that my actions to keep what I have acquired will never be justified from this point on.
Mr. West: Lex, your actions have always only been justifiable to you and you alone.
{Sense finally looks down to the man who just spoke words that have never been truer. West reaches into his briefcase and pulls out a manila folder, extending it towards the big man.}
Mr. West: Sebastian is not going to make things easy on you. You should worry about him involving himself in your plans with your super-friends. I have gathered some intel and though there is little to nothing there is something you should investigate. I suggest you inform your new clan about your relationship with the man before going any further.
Lex Sense: He is of no concern to our goals.
Mr. West: Maybe not to everyone but he should be to you. Before you decide anything I suggest you take a look at this.
{The folder is nudged a little closer to Lex who begrudgingly takes it but doesn't open it just yet.}
Mr. West: I also suggest you leave here before Alice notices.
{With that West takes his leave as Sense's eyes wander back to the young ones for a second before looking into the folder. His eyes go mad at what he sees and it is on this image that the scene fades.}
There are many men here in IWF that deserve the recognition that they've earned through years of service.
Spike Kane is one of them.
Regardless of what you may think, Spike, I have never thought of you as anything less than what you are. I see in you a man that should be commended for his years of service to this business. You have been doing this for far longer than I have and I guess that entitles you to some modicum of praise but I will never full-heartedly worship at your feet. Sometimes you act as though we should all bow down and bend to your will lest we feel the wrath of "The God of Xtreme". I never expect anyone to fear me. What they do or don't is their own prerogative so I am glad that you are not afraid of me.
I hope you can be just as glad when I don't bloody hail.
My war with your brother has gone down as legendary. Much like many of my wars with notable names such as yourself. What I do to earn this or that is none of your concern. I guarantee that my steps towards garnering success were never taken by you. While you may think that is a compliment I assure you that it is not. I am young and powerful and with this youth and strength I am taking new steps towards unfounded heights. I promise you we will never see eye to eye on certain matters but I think you and I can both agree on one fact.
We both love to fight.
There is nothing greater than finding someone of worth to share a ring with. Very few people instil certain emotions within me when I see their name across from mine and yours happens to be one of them. I have seen you commit similar actions to those you now condemn me for, which I find ludicrously hypocritical. There is a darkness within you that is quite reminiscent to mine yet you feel the need to tear me down as if I am below you. Perhaps that wasn't your intentions when your backhand complimented me but it is how I perceived it.
Such hypocrisy is condescending.
Regardless of this issue you are still one of the strongest competitors on this roster. You look down at me and my accomplishments failing to recognize the little time it took me to reach such heights. You said it yourself that you believe I don't deserve this title. The only thing I have to respond to that is,...
And you do?
I know, answering a question with a question will never get you anywhere just like you asking for proof to validate my first ever championship. You should congratulate me instead of judging me. I got rid of that pathetic sack of crap that only worked to taint this precious title while you were once again holding down a division that continues to fester with you and Rob as champions. A sickness that will be remedied soon. First by me as I take you into a world where "gods" like you bleed and then by...
Well we'll save that for later.
I know for drug addicts such as you it is easier to take things day by day. And each day it seems you lose a little more. Your wife, your kids, your sanity, eventually your titles. It must be hard for you right now with all that you have going on. I truly would feel sorry for you if I could feel anything for you; But I don't. I have grown sick and tired of you and Rob thinking you are the greatest gifts wrestling have ever produced. While the both of you, and I lean more towards you more than Rob, have done great things, I have yet to see you contribute anything for this company.
IF anything we have only watched InFamous take and take.
It is obvious you are anxious to scoop up my heat, Spike. When Joe won this belt you were ready to appease his friendly nature. Just doing your best to share in his limelight. Now that your friend is done, you are ready to challenge me in a vain effort to remain relevant. If you can't be friends with the champ then you should be his enemy, right? Anything you can to steal cheers and jeers.
How very selfishly egotistical of you to think you deserve any of it.
However, I never back down from a challenger. This Monday we wont be proving a thing except that two men such as you and I could take things to the extremes quite easily. We fill fight and we will fight hard and at the end of it all we'll both be losers in one way or another.
