Sacrifice has long since ended.
Cable finds himself alone in the shower, rinsing off the nights events in the steam of the hot water. He lifts his head up allowing the water to wash off his face as he thinks about what happened tonight. As he thinks about the look on Tara’s face as Amber tried to end her career…
He smiles when he thinks about Amber…
”Cable…”
A hand reaches in and slowly grips him by the back of the head. He closes his eyes as her nails ever so lightly dig into his flesh and pull him down to her. Her tongue pushing past his lips and exploring the inside of his mouth. She pulls back and smiles warmly at him.
”I knew you had it in you.”
He doesn’t say a word as he pulls her close, his mouth pushing past her lips with passion and fire. She moans as his hands disappear below eye level. Suddenly he pushes back against the wall of the shower. She looks him over seductively as she wraps her arms around his shoulders and throws her legs around his hips.
”I…”
”I know.”
He presses her up against the wall as she throws her head back in pure ecstasy, their bodies in the throes of passion, their mouths kissing everything they can reach until they come to each others mouths. Amber’s nails dig into Cable’s back which only seems to make him press against her harder, deepening their passion…
Fade.
Monday night we were provided with a choice…
Either we stand back in the shadows and continue to play the role of hero or we step forward and turn Honorbound into the team we promised we would be.
The best.
You look at what we did to Tara Fenix and ask us why, but the truth is you should ask yourselves why not?
Why shouldn’t we have helped Amber quicken the end of Tara Fenix’s career? It is painfully obvious to even the casual viewer that Tara has long since passed her expiration date, yet here she is stealing the spot light from younger, more deserving individuals.
Why shouldn’t we have shown her the door?
Tara Fenix is only part of the bigger problem that resides in IWF. Tara Fenix is only the beginning and I promise you that we will not stop there, we will not stop with her and we will not stop with the Diamond’s division.
Honorbound is the beginning of a new age in professional wrestling, an age where those who truly deserve to stand atop the mountain will earn their right. An age where the old guard will finally be forced to pass the torch and end their reign of terror. An age where men like Spike Kane, Rob Diamond, Joe Everyman and Xavier Cross will get no more chances, no more opportunities, no more time to shine.
An age where only the truly strong survive, where your name is of no consequence, your supposed legend no longer matters, your accolades from a dead promotion are meaningless.
Honorbound will usher in this new age because quite frankly Gjenrei and I are tired of waiting. We tried to do things the way we were taught. We gave the respect where it was due. We took the shots we were given. We pressed harder than anyone, worded harder than anyone and time after time we were rewarded with insults and a short trip to the back of the bus.
I’m done waiting.
IWF thinks simply because we are unknown among the masses that we do not belong at the top. That since we had no career in ncw that we are suddenly worth less than the names they acquired from that cursed promotion.
But look at what ncw brought IWF.
It brought us Infamous, a team who claim to fight the good fight, yet have given absolutely nothing back. They sit atop their comfy mountain and call down to us peons when it’s time to defend their titles but in the time in between they are no where to be found. House shows? Autograph signings? Where are your heroes? Where is your gods?
Where is Infamous?
If they can’t get a cheap head line out of the deal then it isn’t worth doing.
Meanwhile Gjenrei and I do whatever is asked of us, go wherever we must, wrestle absolutely whenever we can because we bleed this business. Whether or not the fans agree with what we do, we do this for them, for their entertainment, we fight to bring honor back to wrestling so they can watch a sport worth watching and not the one Infamous would create.
A sport where lying and cheating is the only way to achieve ones dreams.
Ncw brought us Xavier Cross, a broken heavy weight with a broken dream who couldn’t handle the true to life prodigy of professional wrestling.
And then there’s Joe Everyman…
The loveable loser who squeaked past me and went on to win the Imperial Championship. I congratulated him when congratulations were in order and then he went on to let us all down. The man who is supposed to represent us all is no better than any other common piece of gutter trash.
That is what ncw brought IWF. That is what Simon has built his roster around. Those are the men he chooses to promote over the likes of Honorbound.
Well you saw what happened Monday when you over look us and I promise you it is only the beginning because Monday Night, Honorbound gets a chance to show you all what professional wrestling should be, what it will be and that those “heroes” you’ve built this company around are nothing more than the last remnants of a dead promotion.
Soon Infamous will join the rest of their friends in the grave.
Cable and Amber lay together in bed, the covers pulled up just high enough to cover the unmentionables, Amber’s head laying against the chest of Cable, her hand playing with the hair on his chest. She looks up at him and smiles, Cable stares off into the distance.
”You’ve worked so hard, you deserve this shot as much as any of them. You both do.”
He looks down at her and smiles. His hand caressing the back of her head as she gently purrs at his touch.
”It’s easy to lose yourself in what you think you deserve. I can’t lose focus on what has to be done.”
Amber gets a devilish grin.
”I’ve waited so long to see the old you.”
He wants to object but he only smiles. In the past he’d of walked into this match with one thing on his mind, hurting as many people as possible, he’d of lost himself in his anger and broken as many bodies as he could. He’s not like that now. His anger is precise, pointed like a high powered rifle at the heads of those whom he has to bring an end too. Those he has to end to restore honor.
”I’ve waited even longer to hold you again.”
Surprised by the sudden show of emotion, Amber wraps her self around him and Cable can’t help but lose himself to this moment, to her warmth, to the feeling that has always escaped him his whole life, happiness.
”I lied to myself for so long about what I wanted…”
”We both did.”
”I want this.”
”So do I… You’re my family Cable…”
He grips her tight, protects her from whatever may come, this woman in his arms was quickly becoming his life and for some reason that scared him…
She’s lying you know…
Cable suddenly sprang up on the bed and looked around the room, Amber watched him, slightly puzzled.
”Everything ok?”
”… Yeah… I guess so…”
He looks around the room and doesn’t see anything. Amber pushes him back down onto the bed and throws herself on top of him. She grabs him by both sides of the head and pulls him in for a deep kiss before he moves his head down her neck, sternum and then…
Fade.
As much as it will please me to bring a swift end to the reign of Infamous and end any chance of their would be monopoly there is another pair of men in this match. Another “team.”
You call yourselves License to Kill and that would seem to be an apt name as you brought a quick end to the team of Alpha and Omega. Congratulations and thank you for taking out the trash, I’m sure we all appreciate it.
The thing is, men like you, Honor means nothing. Surely you will misinterpret what honor means to us, why we hold it so dear and that’s fine. I honestly don’t care what either of you think of us. What I do care about is what you bring to this match.
Monday night you met Alpha and Omega and brought them the fight of their lives and I’m not asking you to do the same for us…
I’M DEMANDING IT!
Since I got here I have yearned for someone, ANYONE that I can truly open up on. You see, we’ve all got a caged beast inside us, one that desperately wants to get out and play, something Cyrus knows more than enough about. My beast has been caged for too long and this coming Monday Night I’ve got a chance to let him out. I’ve got a chance to step into the ring with like minded individuals. Men who will look across the ring and not see opponents but VICTIMS!
Men like my former self.
I see you Cyrus and Bernard and I respect what it is you’re here to do. You’re here to hurt as amny people as you can get your hands on and I want that. I want you to hurt me. Beat me. Break me. I want you to do to me what you did to Jackhammer and Davison. I want you to bash my head in with a steel chair. Put me through a table. Try to end my career.
I want you to give me a reason to unleash the beast.
Winning this match, getting another shot at the Imperial title, it’s any wrestlers dream come true and I can promise you that I will be fighting harder than any man you have ever come across but deep inside, I’m going to pray that you bust me open…
I’m going to pray that one of you decides to take this match too far and try to really hurt me. I want you too. I need you too. I need to see what I’m made of and the only way to do that is to see my life flash before my eyes. I need to be brought to near death so I know exactly how much I can tale, exactly what I can fight back from. I need to know what I’m made of and I know you’re the men to test me.
SO TEST ME!
Bring me to my limits because you can rest assured I will bring you to yours.
I have no interest in hurting you, breaking you ending you. You are not part of the problem in IWF, truth be told, you could easily be a part of the solution. But Monday night you will be two of the four men standing between Honor and the sickness that holds Honor at bay.
You will stand between us and Infamous.
That’s not a good place to be.
There’s an easy way and a hard way to do this, stand with us or against us but know this…
If you try to end me Monday night you better get it right…
Because I won’t TRY to end you in return. I WILL.
Two forms move in the night , one atop the other, moans with every thrust. Two forms becoming one as one turns over the other and mounts her. Her breast pressed up against him, his hands wrapped tightly around her. His hips thrusting as her moans grew louder…
And all the while an unseen shadow watched…
Fade.
I know my partner better than anyone, better than even myself.
Which is why I know I don’t have to ask him for his best.
He always brings it.
If it comes down to you and me, I will give you all I have.
I will fight you with every last breath in my body because even though we are Honorbound, even though we were born to usher in a new age of professional wrestling, I will not let anyone stand in between me and the Imperial Championship.
It’s time this promotion had a proper challenger for a real champion.
I WILL be that challenger.
I WILL beat you if I have to.
And I WILL enjoy every single moment of it.
Good luck.
