My first week back from losing the Imperial Championship, and I've got a lot to say. It's been a tough couple weeks, if I'm going to be honest. Winning that title was the biggest accomplishment in my entire career, no matter how you cut it. And now... it's just gone.
And what's worse is that I can't go after again. Now, I'm usually not one to get out and blatantly attack my boss, but... what Roberto Verona is doing to me is highway robbery at it's finest. I don't know if he's just jealous that I won it first, I don't know if he's just heartbroken that someone was better than him, I don't know. But he attacked me and attached a bullshit reason as to why I can't compete for the Imperial Championship again, pending an "investigation". An investigation of what, huh?
You mean, how I got into an accident because the other asshole cut me off? The accident where the on scene sobriety test said I had no alcohol in my system? Or the accident that was all here-say as to what you people think actually happened? That one? I assumed so. You see, I found a little information that you guys should be interested to know.
Roberto, our honest and fair man in charge, wrote in that stipulation into my contract AFTER the accident happened. He was so hell bent on me not having my time in the spotlight that he would do anything in his power to make sure I never saw it again. And guess what, Bobby? I'm going to do every single thing in my power to make sure that you are striped of yours. I'm going to do everything I can to show the world how much of a fraud, a cheat and a liar you are. And if it comes down to having to fight you in the ring... then so be it. I'm not now, nor have I ever been afraid of you or your cronies.
That's something I can't stand for. I cannot stand and watch as someone who thinks they have power dominate people who they deem weaker. I've seen it happen my entire career, and something needs to be done. Sometimes, the peasants are not aware of their power and their numbers. We out number and out power the kings of IWF. And soon... we will have an uprising. The lower, normal people of this company will rise up and take down the kings of this company. People like Lex Sense... Xander Famularo... and Roberto Verona. I don't give a single shit if you are working together or if you aren't, because no matter what, all three of you will be take down.
I have my allies. I have my friends. And we will rise. We will rise and take you down. We will take back what is rightfully ours. Our gold. Our rights. And our freedoms. We will not be bullied around any longer. Lex, I'm coming for you you son of a bitch. And Xander, believe me what I say, Xavier is coming for your head. And Roberto, Bobby... you're dead in my eyes. I have more riding on my career and my image that anybody else in this company. And thanks to you, my family is starting to wonder if I'm telling them the truth. I don't know if it will take something as drastic as caving in your skull to prove that to them, but if it has to be done, it has to be done.
Before all is said and done, Roberto will pay and Lex will be face up, with MY Imperial Championship back around my waist. In the end, all will be right and just in the world again. In the end, we will rise up and defeat tyranny. Because these are our lives. We're fighting for so much more than just power and glory. And Lex, Bobby, Xander, when you three realize this... maybe your lives will seem less empty for once.
The scene slowly opens up inside of the Joe Everyman household. Melanie is sitting on the couch looking into the kitchen, more specifically out the back door, where Aurora can be seen playing on the patio with a few pieces of chalk. Melanie smiles at her for a moment. After a few seconds, Joe comes walking down the stairs and sees his fiance waiting for him.
Joe Everyman: Hey hunny. I'm gonna have to leave here in a few minutes.
Melanie Brooks: I know. But, it's a big week for you. Go out there and win, ok?
Joe smiles a little bit.
Joe Everyman: I'm gonna try my best. It's going to be a tough match, that's for sure.
Joe then sits down next to her as she quickly grabs his hand and pulls it onto her lap. Joe looks down at it and smiles again.
Joe Everyman: Are you going to be ok while I'm gone?
Melanie Brooks: Yeah, I'll be fine. Josie is coming over later to help me keep a track on all three kids. Plus, Aurora is being really good today, so I'll be good.
Joe Everyman: No, I mean... are YOU going to be ok.
Melanie looks away from Joe for a moment, something that he notices.
Joe Everyman: Sweetie?
Melanie Brooks: Yeah, I'll be fine. I just miss you.
Joe Everyman: Miss me? I've here right now.
Melanie Brooks: No, I... nevermind.
Joe Everyman: Come on, you can tell me.
Melanie Brooks: It's not something I want to get into right now. You know how I am when it comes to talking about this kind of stuff.
Joe Everyman: I know... take your time, ok? You know you can call me anytime while I'm out.
Melanie Brooks: I know, I know.
Joe raises Melanie's hand up and kisses it on the back before standing up.
Joe Everyman: I'm going to go say bye to Aurora, I'll be right back.
Melanie smiles a little. As Joe is walking into the kitchen, he turns his head back some.
Joe Everyman: Mel, can you check to make sure my phone is in my bag?
Melanie nods a little before grabbing the bag off of the couch. She unzips the main compartment, rummaging through a couple t-shirts. She finds Joe's cellphone resting inside, sitting next to an open bottle of Crown Royal. Melanie stares at the bottle for a moment before grabbing out the cellphone and zipping the bag closed. She looks down at the phone as Joe walks back into the room. Joe grabs his bag off of her lap as she hands him the phone.
Joe Everyman: Are you sure you'll be ok, Mel?
Melanie nods a little, slowly, before looking up at him, forcing a smile.
Melanie Brooks: I'll be ok. But... please call me when you land, ok?
Joe Everyman: I promise.
Joe leans in and kisses Melanie, causing her to actually smile.
Joe Everyman: I love you, Mel.
Melanie Brooks: I love you too, Joe.
Joe then walks off camera as Melanie continues to look down. She then turns her head and watches as Joe walks out of the front door. She slams her eyelids shut and rests her head on the back of the couch. The scene then slowly fades to black.
Lex, Xander, this week is going to be big, and I'll tell you why. Xavier and I... we have something to prove. I've been outspoken on how we aren't fight for just the glory and the gold. We have families and friends who need us. We're trying to support our own dreams and goals. We are trying to live our lives to the fullest. We don't have to be a pair of evil bastards to do that, either. We can have a heart of gold and still get what we want.
Xavier and I go through life working for what we want. We work hard, every single day, striving to complete our dreams. But then people like you come along, stabbing people like us in the back to get where you want. We will not stand for this any longer. I already know that Roberto is going to try and screw us over, so this fight is already a three on two. But we've fought against the odds before. We have our entire lives.
We are going to come into Sacrifice and go just that. We will sacrifice what we need to do to get what we want. What we need. And what we need is to shut down big mouth, even bigger ego jackasses like you three. We know what we have to do, and we know what we're fighting for. And at the end of the day, we will come out on top... because we have more that we're fighting for. We're fighting for the little guy. Because just like that, that's what we are again. We're the underdogs. We're the little guys. But that's fine... because that's how we prefer it.
At the end of the day, you three will still scare people. You will put fear into the hearts of men and women on this roster. But at the end of the day... Xavier and I will stand tall. We will stand proud, because we know what we were doing was for good, not evil. Our hearts are completely in this match, and even though it's only the first step, we will rise. EveryCross will defeat anybody that comes in front of us, even if it's the two that took our championships.
And Roberto... don't think for a second that I will forget about Lex and Xander to take your ass down. If you try to jump us, we will take you down. I may be pissed at Lex and Xander, but you are still the prime directive. You are the reason why I wake up every morning now. You are the reason why I lace up my boots. You, Bobby... are the reason why I will rise.
This Monday night, Xavier and I will win. It's as simple as that. And it's because of one simple truth that has seemed to have flown from your mental capacity. Our hearts are stronger. They always have been... and they always will be.
And what's worse is that I can't go after again. Now, I'm usually not one to get out and blatantly attack my boss, but... what Roberto Verona is doing to me is highway robbery at it's finest.
