OOC: Apologies to Laszlo and everyone for the weak effort. This one is all on me.
"The mighty fall hard, don't they?
Since day one in Imperial, Mike Laszlo has been a name that's been on the lips of every fan, worker, and wrestler around these parts. Of course there's been a lot of talk about myself and the other champions as well, but when this place started, Laszlo was the can't-miss future of IWF. He got to main event our first show, he got to go toe-to-toe with every member of the Kane family, and he was getting the star treatment.
Life was good for you, Mike.
Was.
You came in here off of nearly being the man in the old fed, and everyone was so sure that you were going to skyrocket straight to the top. I mean heck... you never shyed away from telling us that yourself. You were the cockiest guy around, Lassie. And I guess people got blinded by the hype or driven deaf by the constant screaming you do to realize the truth of the matter is that you're just not that good.
Your whole career has been built around NEARLY being World Champion and NEARLY beating all of these great legends, when really all you've done lately is beat an alien who nearly died recently.
Congrats.
And I'm not the only one to realize it, oh no. You hear the chatter, you see the gossip sites and blogs talking about how the once 'cant-miss' talent has in fact missed, and missed by a mile. That hot streak you came in on? It's fizzled out and all that remains is an ember that you've pissed on time and time again over these last few months. All the while you kept telling us how great you were, and kept showing us how much of a liar you are. See you can call me a lot of things, Mikey. I'm loud, I'm cocky, and I'm a little bit obnoxious... all words that could be used to describe you as well; but the one thing I'm not, is a liar.
I tell you I'm going to beat you, and then I beat you. It's literally that simple.
Now it seems all that bragging... all the boasting.... all the failing has caught up to you. You realized that people don't believe the Mike Laszlo hype anymore... they're laughing in your face. They're using your name sarcastically in conversations about IWF.
'Hey, you know who deserves an Imperial Title shot? Mike Laszlo. I mean, he never wins or anything, but boy can he talk a good game.'
And that's all you are, Mike. You talk and you talk and you talk until you can't talk anymore, and then you repeat the same tired lines and cliches next week. Whereas I step out into the spotlight every single Sunday and Monday, and do what you say you can do. I talk the talk and walk the walk. You? All you do is talk.
So what's going to change now? You got tired of being laughed at, so now you're trying to get in on the joke. Instead of hearing people mock your name each and every week when you go out into the spotlight and lose, you're looking for the ol' pat on the back 'good try, slugger' routine. You're looking for validation instead of ridicule.
Can't say I blame you. It's a lot easier to be a loser when people are enabling it.
Makes you less of a man, but whatever...
That's what's happening to you, Laszlo. Things aren't going your way so you're tucking tail and running to the open embrace of those slobs we call fans instead of gutting it out like a real man. You bend to the will of the people and to your own weak backbone and now you're talking to me like you're going to beat me?
Kid, you already lost this match the second you got complacent.
See, it takes a real son of a bitch to make it big time in this business... it's something I learned the hard way, I guess. Guys like you who are willing to bow? There's no place for you at the top with guys like me. The only place you belong is under my boot, and Sunday? You're heading home.
Wrestling isn't fun, Mike. Winning is fun.
...and I'm having the time of my life.
In this business, the strong don't admit defeat... because the strong never really lose.
Look at the facts, Laszlo. You came in as the star of the show, and I had none of that. I had to work my way up, and I had to make my name mean something here in IWF. You came in expecting to be handed everything, and I expected to work. I didn't politic my way into a Man of Steel Title shot. I didn't use name recognition to get my face on pay-per-views. No no no. I went out there and I just won. I fought, scratched, and stepped on anyone I needed to to get to where I am right now... and I'm nowhere near where I want to be.
How scary is that?
I'm already everything you wished you could be, and I haven't even begun to scratch the surface. You and the rest of the world can keep singing my praises and telling me how good I am and how much I've accomplished in such a short time, but there is only truly one person who knows how good I am... and his name is Blade. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I could go into that Sacrifice ring and beat the Heavyweight Champion, or the Cruiserweight Champion, and even the Imperial Champion if given the opportunity. And that opportunity is coming, folks. I'll kick down whatever doors I have to to get there, but rest assured, I will get there. Because even though time is passing you by, Laszlo, there's no force in the world, let alone IWF, that can stop me.
I'll keep fighting everyone. I'll take on all comers as I work my way to the top of the company.
...and you'll keep fighting the losing battle.
The battle to stay revelant in a world that couldn't care if you lived or died."
