Adventure hunters and thrill seekers alike have sat back and waited for far too long for the return of our heroic avenger. The Kanji covered warrior has made appearances outside of the ring but hasn't really performed inside of it. That changes this week when the Asian sensation takes on the Super Sayan. The gauntlet has been thrown down by a high flying midget and I for one know that Bushido will not back down. Nor does he need a helping hand of any kind. Especially from a Canadian. Still, the troubles of our Cruiserweight Champion do not only come in the form of challengers, masked men and musclebound freaks but they also come in beautifully venomous packages.
Now...
After imagining a meeting with an "old masked friend", Bushido realized he was goin' cray cray. Taking a couple of weeks off, Bushido set upon a spiritual journey in search for answers. Finding a cabin in a wooded area, Bushido spent his time in deep meditation, only coming out to fulfill contractual obligations. At the moment his hands were clasped together in prayer when certain sections of his cabin were illuminated by oncoming headlights sneaking through cracks and windows. The sounds of a car parking just outside brings Bushido out of his focused state.
Bushido: I have been gone for too long.
Bushido spins to his feet, blowing out the lit candles that surrounded him. The cabin falls into total darkness until Bushido pulls on a chain to turns the lights overhead on.
Bushido: *speaks Japanese*
Subtitles: I have been acting out like a spoiled child as of late. I can see the error in my ways. For so long I gave in to what was easy. It was easy for me to hate a friend that was more like a brother to me. It was easy to trick and scheme. Luckily my in ring expertise has guided my hand to where I should be but I find myself lacking what every champion should have...
Pride.
I look at myself in the mirror and I don't see the honorable man I once was. Instead I see a false representation of everything that I should be. I have won but by winning in ways that I did I defeated myself. It is easy to take the road more traveled as the path has already been set before you. It is hard to pave your own.
I am done taking it easy.
The muffled sounds of a car door being slammed could be heard. Bushido walks over to his bags and begins packing things away.
Bushido: *speaks Japanese*
Subtitles: Now more than ever IWF needs a champion they could be proud of. A true hero that fights for the people. I am unsure if that is me but I am the champion they have right now and as such it is up to me to lead this division against any attacks. I have seen The Juggernauts in action and I remain unafraid. I believe you have a point Trent. There does need to be some sort of coalition to stand up against their heinous assaults but I can not worry about future wars when the person that stands before me now is you. I aim to return greater than ever and that greatness will be achieved when I pin you for the count of 3.
You may have good intentions but if there is one thing that I have learned is I can't trust anybody.
Everywhere I look it appears victims are falling to the wayside. Cowards run while men fight and I plan to fight with everything that I have in me. I have seen you throughout the years. In our division your name is like Christ's to religion. You are the one that turns water into wine, walks on water and endlessly spins through the air just to splash on top of someone. Your exploits are well known and while I respect the things you have done, like Christ,...
I don't believe in you.
You disrespect me by still viewing me as a tag team competitor. More so because you believe that that position is a lowly one. I have carved my own niche in IWF. I have erased the comedic failings of my past and surpassed even you in this company. I am champion for a reason and you can not belittle my success by attempting to view me as the man I was. I have changed for the better and beating you will add nothing but another name to my resume. You are not what Cruiserweights here aspire to be, Trent. You are simply among the ranks. Just one of the fellows in the back working their way up to the top to one day face the champion.
And I am the champion.
The way I see it, it is you that has something to prove at Sacrifice. I already proved it when I single-handedly eliminated all that stood in my way to capture this illustrious title. A title I put on the map and successfully defended for the second longest reign in IWF. While men like Joe only held their belts for one month, I was ending careers and fending off hungry contenders. All while you sat behind a booth commentating and gaining weight. I don't mean to sound arrogant but you called me out as though I am second to you. Your intentions for doing so are not justified and if you want to speak semantics, in IWF...
I am better than you.
You are a legend and deserve the praise you get. A Hall of Famer that should be applauded for everything he's given to this sport. I am honored to share a ring with you and perhaps one day we shall stand side by side in order to protect our division. But this Monday, you stand across from me and as such you are a threat.
A threat that I will not hesitate to put down.
To the victor go the spoils and this week, whether it is you or I, the victory will have to be earned.
Loud bangs come from the wooden door as Bushido finishes packing, throwing his bag on the floor before walking over and swinging the door open. He doesn't acknowledge Miranda on the other side but she is clearly fuming.
Miranda: What the actual FUCK!?
Another bag is grabbed by Bushido as he begins placing his personal items into it. Not even a shrug of the shoulders to Miranda's question.
Miranda: This is where you've been? I've been calling you for like ever and you completely ignored my calls. IWF has been hounding me looking for you.
Bushido: *speaks Japanese*
Subtitles: You quit, did you not? Why do you care?
Miranda: Don't be like that, asshole! You gave me no choice. You sided with your dad on this...
Bushido: And you saw Dragon behind my back!
The accusation causes Miranda to slink down into a chair. That was a fact he wasn't suppose to know.
Miranda: You were being a jerk and I needed someone to talk to. I don't have a lot of friends here... Nothing happened!
Bushido: *speaks Japanese*
Subtitles: I am not accusing you. I just needed you to shut up without getting angry. I think my father and Ayame are up to something and I need your help.
She shoots up to her feet and begins storming back and forth.
Miranda: I effing knew it. That bitch! I told you didn't I... You know what? I'm not helping until you say those three little words every woman wants to hear.
The Last Samurai exhales deeply as he wishes there was another way. Those three little words were not something he said lightly but if anyone, Miranda deserved to hear them.
Bushido: You were right.
Miranda: Damn right I was! Now get your shit together and let's go slap a ho.
Bushido: I am sorr...
Before Bushido could finish the sentiment he is silenced. There are tears streaming down Miranda's face as she rushes into Bushido. Both sets of arms are wrapped around each other, holding one another as though they haven't seen each other in years. On this touching scene, we fade.
