Metamorphosis.
It was whilst she was unstrapping her gear, listening to the roars of the crowd. One of the communal monitors playing a live feed of the show that she saw the image of Rini and Charlotte stood together, feeling her mismatched eyes staring that image down as she wrinkled her nose and kept unlacing.
"Well, that's not gonna be awkward. Is it?"
Yeah she was talking to herself but her last meeting with Rini was arguably as worst as it could go and had left the woman under the clutches of a Tsuchigomo for what turned out to be just less than a cup of coffee in Neo-Honshu. Having seen the writing on the wall after that exchange, Her heart hadn't sat well with the actions she'd done and she requested hr release son after as the ink hadn't even really touched paper.
It'd been expensive, it'd cost her some rep, but her soul was clear and thankfully Kai had had her back, but still she'd ever really gotten a chance to well, talk to Rini after the debacle.
So. Awkward.
It shouldn't be like this. She could feel the distant roar as she looked way from the screen some and her mind raced inwards as she was swapping boots for, other boots changing into something relaxing, a baseball cap, she watched to catch the show in the bleachers and soak in the New Jersey air like a normal fan.
Had she ever been normal? Was that even in her DNA? Not really but there's movements of anonymity you can enjoy, high above the maddening crowd looking down into the ring with the best , secret seat in eh house next to fronts row, sipping on a drink.
No, not even this was normal. Amazing? Spectacular? Very much so, you felt the very presence of the work in the air, every sound, all of the boos and cheers, every deliberate moment.
She didn't say for the rest of the show, something in the air changed as Warren and Dean started, it made her feel like an interloper, she wasn't welcome for that one, wasn't welcome here, She picked her bags up and was unpacking some letting her mind trace back to the dance floor mats and the balance beams of her youth.
Her youth, Jesus who did she think she was? She wasn't -that- old yet, but it still felt like an entire other life even in those short years, where she'd traded tape and chalk, for tape and canvas. Ok, the analogy doesn't work as there is some cross over, but was still different and distant enough that the Natasha Walker she was now felt like a whole different creature.
A whole different person, transformed into something brighter, more magnificent, something that would light up the world given a chance.
Just a chance.
Maybe it was the wrong lesson to take as she felt the air suck out of the building as Metamorphosis came to an end, Legion...Whatever that was, she wanted to know to fight ...But Who was she? She wasn't Brooklyn, she wasn't even the newly crowned Jennie. The news about a legend, a demon thought incapable of the state she was in, Dean Harper coughing up blood as she was just there, new watching and listening.
What the hell had she signed up for?
No she had to better, stronger, a bright promise of something different.
She wondered how many of the women and men she was watching now had thought the exact same thing.
She managed a smile, despite herself even as the worry gnawed at her, safe and secure in that knowledge that yeah, the future was in her hand as much as anyone's.
Onwards and upwards, right?
"Y'know it'd be easy to lay it on thick about your recent showings Serenity, but lets face it you hung your ass out there and you hung in as long as you could against well one of the marquee makers in the company. So lemme open up with a sincere better luck next time tiger, you'll get'm one day."
We Fade in on an extreme close up Nat's face as she slowly backs up to hop up on a bench balancing as she's framed across an indistinct skyline serving as a backdrop for her silhouette as she spoke.
"But this week I am Erie bound and I find myself with the question of how I don't end up on the painful side of a pair of Louboutin's y'know? If I gotta explain that reference..I swear ta god..."
She takes a breath and steadies herself as she steps up again, balancing on the narrow beach with all the skill she can muster.
"I'm not going to kid myself, Serenity, your name carries weight, you can go, I mean you wouldn't have been in the position you were at Metamorphosis if you couldn't regardless of how the contest went. I should imagine you got yourself somethin' to be proud of. But I get this sneaking feeling you'll be looking to either tear my limbs off or put me out for 3 seconds or plus to strike an underline that your recent turn of form isn't a fluke that you are 'all that'."
She pauses as her balance seems to falter but then she regains it before she glances to the camera with a slightly cocky smirk and a wriggle of brows.
"We're supposed to be the future of this business right? We're both flying solo right now, we're both On the edge of interest, people are looking at me, people are looking a you and the only downside of his match up sister is hat one of us has to lose, otherwise I think I could do this one all day, the mix ups of styles, our similarities, our differences on paper? This is going to be a match to watch, that I can guarantee."

Another chuckle, soft against the wind as she hops herself off the bench entirely to start encroaching entirely.
"If anything I've noticed we might be cut form the same cloth, forwards is the direction we want, up is the only option anything else feels like stalling, and our big questions are, can I keep my momentum and can you get yours back? I'm not even trying to be an ass 'bout it we both know what the commentary will say."
She wrinkles her nose huffing a breath against the air
"So we close out th' noise and we do our thing ya? Is that how it's gonna go? It's what I plan to do to keep running till I can't , then walking, then crawling.. It's all you c'n do in the face of this and Intend to take you for this ride with me sister, I hope you're in the mood to keep up or even overtake me, cause I hate gettin' complacent I -hate- sitting still and absolutely hate when I don't get the best outta the person stood opposite me cause you are gettin' the best of me every time I run my ass out there."
She shook her head thinking about her next words carefully.
"Maybe if nothing else, I can help you remember what it's like havin' fun out there, forget that #1 spot, remember the sheer joy of wrestling, those first moments in front of a crowd, where the cheers bring you alive. The moments between moves when you feel your pulse racing, when your carefully constructed game plan fell out the back of the mental parachute when the person you're facing did something you didn't expect. Maybe, just maybe I can pull some of the real stuff out of you because I can see it now."
She puts on a more serous face and paces back and forth as she spoke.
"This week I get everything back, I fell but I'll rise again and nobody will care blah blah, bitch please. Ain't nobody looking to buy that but that back of your head wanting to say to worst about you, Don;t say it, come do it, c'mon Serenity! Gimme all you got! Show me! I'm asking you prove to yourself and to the world what it is you've got and if you lose?..."
A pause and a chuckle as she gave a slight shrug and a thumbs up.
"Then you lose and I don't think you'll have any ounce of shame to show for it iff'n you think that? I think that says more 'bouts yous than it does me. Because from where I'm sittin'? You're Serenity Holmes. So do me a favor Serenity? Do yourself a favor and lets tear this goddamned house down and show the IWF what the future is supposed to be about yeah?"
Her smile brightens up and she pulls the cameras in again to look at those mismatched orbs.
"Yeah I know you;re on board with that notion, and if you ain't? Then try and keep up with me."
She lets go of the camera and starts to bounce away towards a waiting car.
"Catch you Eerie side!"
Fade out.
