Act 1: The day it all began

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end."
Seneca
The scene opens on the beautiful city of Manhattan. The late afternoon sun still blazed over the city, but a cold wind blew in from the river. The leaves had fallen from the trees in the park while the ever greens remained. The city moved and bustled with people going this way and that, heading for work or coming home for another day. Tourists took in the sights that littered the city, while others enjoyed a quiet afternoon relaxing in the park or strolled through the zoo.
Lines for tickets for the Pay Per View had already started but soon be sold out for the latest even in the IWF. The camera goes over the city, and across the bridge to Brooklyn and into one of the neighborhoods there. We soon see a very nice mechanic's shop at the end of the street. The doors were open and the sound of air drills and other things could be heard coming from inside, and an older looking man slides out from underneath a car, as we see Avery walking up. He gets up, and smiles as she walks into the shop. He hugs her, and they head to a small office in the back of the shop.
Henry: I'm glad to see you Avery. But what are you doing here? I thought you would be on the road.
Avery: I am... We have a show at Madison Square Gardens this week, and I got you a ticket for it.
Henry: Why would I want to see my daughter get into that ring, and get hurt? You know I worry about you Avery.
Avery sighs, and nods as she leans against the door frame. She was his only child and he couldn't stand it when something happened to her. Avery knew that he meant well and would do anything for her if she asked.
Avery: I just figured you would want to see what I do when I'm not here.
He smiles and kisses her on the forehead before heading back out to the main part of the shop. Avery looks around the office seeing a picture of her father with Lander. She picks it up and sits back in the old leather chair that leaned against the wall. Her mind flashes back to when it all began. It had all started on a day just like today...

The scene opens on the same neighborhood six month's earlier. Avery's father is seen talking to Lander and seem to be in a disagreement over something that sat on the desk.
Henry: Lander for the last time I'm not going to help you! My adventuring days are done!
Lander: But I need someone that knows what to do, and what to expect on something like this.
Henry: I'm old Lander, and I've finally come to peace with my life and losing her. If I go Avery wouldn't have anyone.
Lander: Don't be silly, she's has your family back in Ireland. I'm sure she would be fine...
Henry lowers his head, knowing that he could, and that Avery was old enough to be on her own, but yet something in him kept him here.
Henry: I don't want that life for her. Now get out!
Lander: But...
Henry: I said get out!
With that Lander leaves, and Henry looks at the envelope and tosses it into the trash, as Avery enters the office.
Avery: Who was that?
Henry: An old friend. He wanted me to go with him on one last adventure.
Avery sees the letter in the garbage and picks it up. It was instructions for a meeting place the next day, and what it would entail.
Avery: Wow. This sounds like something else. If you don't want to go then I'll...
Henry: NO! I'm not going to lose you! You're safer here then out there with him!
Avery: But... I want to do this! You can't keep me here forever! I'm 19!
Henry: No! That's it! Now go to your room, and stay there! We'll talk about this later!
Avery sighs as he heads back out into the shop leaving Avery alone once again. She opens the letter and looks down at it.
Avery: Dear Henry, I know it's been a while since we last spoke, but I want you to join me on an adventure just like we did back in the day. This one is going to be our toughest yet, but I know if I had you and your skills we could find... Well lets just say that it's something that both of us could use. Meet up with Mr. Dick Chambers this afternoon and then be at the airport tomorrow morning by 5. Sincerely Dr. Lander
Avery walks out of the shop and up the stairs to her room only to start packing. She looks around her room, and sighs. It could be awhile before she would be back, but this was something she couldn't pass up. She pulls out a piece of paper and writes her father a note. She sets it on his bed and heads for the front door heading out into the late afternoon.
About an hour later Avery is standing outside what appears to be a rather old building. She looks down at the address on the piece of paper and sighs, as she starts to climb the stairs. She reaches the top and walks down the hallway stopping in front of a door. She knocks but it swings open slightly, as she walks inside. The office was a bit run down and it seemed to be a bit bare except for a chair, and a large desk that sat in front of a window. A man in his late 20's stood in front of the window, and turned around slightly as she walks in.
Avery: Are you Dick Chambers?
Man: Depends on who's asking.
Avery: I'm Avery McCullen... Dr. Lander sent me.
Dick: Really? He sent you? All right... Tell me what you can do, kid.
Avery: I can drive, plus I'm a mechanic. I can also handle anything with wings.
Dick: Really? You don't look like the type, kid, but I'll give ya a try. Meet us here in the morning.
Avery: Right.
Avery walks back down the street knowing that she was young but there was a lot she could do. The scene soon changes to the next morning, where we see a little blue Prius pulling up in front the building where she went yesterday. She steps out of the car, grabbing her bags and sets them on the sidewalk, as a rather large man comes up.
This was Dr. Teddy Armstrong. His pack that he carried was bigger then Avery and towered above him.
Teddy: Good morning. I'm Teddy Armstrong. I have come to join your expedition!
Dick: You must be the professor. Dick Chambers, Doc. If we're ready to go then we better go. Dr. Lander is expecting us.
Avery looks at the big man and smiles. His shirt was barely holding on, and his large muscles showed through the white shirt he had on. They hail a taxi and are soon headed off toward the airport.
Teddy: So does anyone know what we are looking for?
Avery: Nope. I figure it has to be something big if he needs people like us.
Dick: I've been doing this for a while, boys and girls, and a pay check is a pay check.
Avery looks over at him and sighs. This was going to be a lot different then what she was use to. They soon arrive at the airport and drive out past the main air field where a giant plane sits waiting for them. At the bottom of the stairs there waited Dr. Lander and two young women. One was Asian in decent and the other was a fair skinned dark haired beauty, and both looked bored as they waited. The cab soon stops and they pile out of the cab, grabbing their bags and heading for the plane.
Dr. Lander: Oh good you made it. Let me introduce you to my daughter's Helen and Miranda. Now everyone aboard please and we can begin our journey.
Dick: Right, Doc. So where are we headed first?
With that the door closes and the engines start. The giant plane starts to rise up over the runway and up into the sky.
Avery: Hello? This is her. An interview? Sure. How about the day after tomorrow? I'm going to be a bit busy before then, but that afternoon we could meet up. I'm staying with my father but there is somewhere we could meet. Sure I'll call you back before I leave. Great. I'll see you then.
Avery hangs up, and leans back in the chair, staring up at the ceiling, letting her thoughts go to her match coming up on Sunday night. It was a fatal fourway and it wasn't going to be easy. But she was going to give it her all.
Avery: Last Monday night I have no idea what happened at the end of my match. I had the match just about won when all of a sudden Eternity hits the ref with the chair, and then she and Crystal start to attack Amber and Ana, which I could less about but the matter of the fact is that they could have waited until after the match was over. But no, they ruined everything, and now I've been thrown into a fatal fourway. This time I'm going to finish the match even if it kills me.
Avery gets up from where she sits, and puts the picture back on the shelf before heading out of the office. She stops and leans against the stairs watching her father work on one of the cars that was in the garage. He had started the business from the ground up and became known all over the tri city area. Avery smiles to herself and heads up the stairs that lead to the apartment above it.
Avery: Crystal the last time we met you got the upper hand and walked away with the win. Last week you did something stupid and cost us the win over Amber and Ana. Tell me why did you do it? Why couldn't you have waited to beat the holy hell out of them after the bell rang? No! You couldn't could you? This week when we are in that ring I'm going to be focusing on you. You, River and Eternity cost me that win, and now you're going to pay for it. I'm not thrilled with what happened to be begin with and now I have to face you and River again. I'm not going to hold anything back this time, and you know when you piss an Irish woman off nothing can be predicted. I don't like to hurt people but when it comes to getting what I want and there is no other way then I'll do what I have to.
Tell me Crystal do you really think you have what it takes to stop me this time around? Is that why you did what you did last week or is it because you're afraid of me? Of course you'll open your big mouth and say that you're not and how bad you're going to beat just like you did the last two times that we stepped into the ring against each other. But this time, I'll be the one that walks out of that ring with the win, and just another step closer to climbing to the top. You did see what I did to Ana and Amber last week right? I didn't let them even take an inch if I could help it. Crystal we might have been on the same page last week... Hell even then we weren't! You're pretty face isn't going to be so pretty once I'm done with you.
You think that the last time we met was bad, think again. I'm going to make sure that no one even knows who you are when I'm done. I will break every bone in your body if I have to, break your face, and make you wish you were dead. I've held back a lot but not this time. This time it's about who really is the best in this business and I plan on making it out of the ring in one piece, and leaving you, River and Lust in the middle of the ring bruised, broken, battered and bloodied wondering where you went wrong, knowing all the while I'm just that much better than you.
Avery reaches the top of the stairs, and opens the door that lead into the apartment. It was spacious and seemed comfortable for at least a small family. Avery moves to the bay windows and looks down at the city as it moved by.
Avery: River I saw a look in your eye that I've only seen once before from someone I knew. They had the look of a killer in their eyes and it always worried me. And you have that same look. Tell me will you stop when you feel an opponents blood fall on your face or will you keep going? When we meet in the middle of the ring this week, I'll do whatever I have to bring you down. You're not unstoppable no matter what you do.
I've faced killers, mad men, things that shouldn't exist but did, and yet I managed to walk away from them all. River I don't know what kind of agreement you have gotten yourself into but it's a dishonest one, and I will not stand by as you go down that road. If I have to beat a lesson into you, or get you to change your mind about allegiances then so be it. I will do everything that I can to bring the White Queen down.
She doesn't turn from the window, but glances over her shoulder at the camera. Her bright green eyes seemed to shimmer in the late afternoon sun, and her bright red hair framed her face with a certain charm of the young woman.
Avery: River I don't think there is anything else I can really say about you. You betrayed our team last week just like Eternity, and Crystal so that just makes me even more leery of you. I'll be watching you, and every move you make knowing that you more than likely have it out for me. As for my last opponent Lust I don't even know where to start with you. I don't think I've ever faced anyone like you before, and I don't know if I really want to. You have yet to step into the ring do you not? But what can I expect from you? One of the other parts of your weird little group or legion or whatever you want to call it did, but you stayed behind in hopes of gaining your own match and this week you have it.
You are the odd one out in this whole thing, and that makes you dangerous. But I've been in worse spots then this before, and managed to walk away from it. Bring everything that you have to the ring, and watch how it's really done. I'm not going to underestimate you or anyone in this match for that matter. You're unpredictable and that is not good, but even I can turn something bad into something good, and in my favor. I just hope the three of you know what you're getting into on Sunday night, because I'll ready for you, and it's not going to be an easy fight. See you soon.
Avery smiles to herself as she watches one of the cares pulling out of the garage and into the street. It soon disappears and she sighs. It was business just like any other day. She looks at the clock and heads off to her room. It was just as she had left it. She lays back on the bed and stares up at the ceiling and starts to fall into a deep sleep as the scene fades to black.
Henry: Lander for the last time I'm not going to help you! My adventuring days are done!

Present Day
The sound of a ringing telephone breaks the silence and brings Avery out of her thoughts. She nearly falls off of her chair, as her heart races. She picks it up.Avery: Hello? This is her.
