The sound of a lighter is heard. Then the slow drag of a cigarette, a puff of smoke. Sitting in the back of a limo is Stevie Starr. Dressed in a nice suit and tie, also wearing black sunglasses, Starr looks out the window of him limo and stares off into space it seems. Just then a young women's voice can be heard...
"Mr. Starr, I just want to give you a run down of today's agenda...if you don't mind?"
Taking another long drag of his smoke, Stevie looks over at her.
"Sure..."
"Well first and foremost Mr. Starr we have you set up for your very first press conference with the IWF to promote your upcoming match at Survival of the Fittest, and then you have a lecture at a local wrestling school, and then after that you have gym time to get in shape for your match."
Starr looks over at the women in disgust.
"In shape? I don't know if you've seen me lately, but I look like was carved from stone. I look better than the entire IWF roster."
"My mistake sir..."
Starr opens up the liquor compartment and pours himself a a glass of scotch, adding two ice cubes. Starr swirls it around then sips it.
"It feels so right doesn't it?"
"What does sir?"
"The fact that I make my debut on a pay-per-view, and with a so-called legend, as well as a championship shot when I'm victorious. Things honestly couldn't have been put together more nicely. I will prove myself quicker than anyone else ever has. Championship gold will be wrapped around my waist within my first month of competition...And that, that's what I was trained for. I was trained for not being second best, but to be everything people wish they could be."
Taking another sip from his glass, Starr's limo comes to a stop. A few seconds later an older gentlemen opens the door and Starr steps out. Adjusting his suit and tie Starr looks at the driver.
"Thank you sir, and don't worry about her, she's staying in the car. Just go ahead and take a break while I do this."
Starr reaches into his pocket and pulls out a fifty dollar bill. Sliding it into his driver's front pocket.
"You my friend are a winner, breakfast is on me."
The driver smiles and nods his head while Starr heads into what looks like a hotel. Walking in the front doors Starr is suddenly swarmed by photographers. Bulbs flash as Starr makes his way towards the main hall. Inside the main hall their is a small stage, a podium sits there as well. The IWF logo is seen on the front of the podium, and a giant banner that promotes the Survival of the Fittest event is draped in the background. Standing on the stage behind the podium looks to be an older gentlemen, he shakes Starr's hand and then turns back to the crowd of people and begins to speak.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to bring up right now IWF's newest wrestler. He will be debuting this coming weekend at Survival of the Fittest, Mr. Stevie Starr..."
A loud clapping is heard as Stevie Starr walks up to the podium and waves to the people and smiles. Stevie raises his hand and then lowers it as if to tell them to settle down.
"Thank you, It's a pleasure to be here promoting the event this weekend. I look forward to making my debut, and turning some heads. Now lets get this interview underway...First question."
Hands shoot up as Stevie points to a young redheaded women in the second row.
"Yes Mr. Starr, How are you feeling knowing you are making your debut on a pay per view of this calibur? Are you nervous at all?
"Not at all, why would I be? I've trained for these oppertunities all my life, and I'm prepaired for whatever the IWF throws at me. Weither it be legends or young guys, I'm just ready to get in the ring and hurt people."
Stevie points to another person in the crowd, a young gentlemen.
"Mr. Starr, What are your thoughts on your opponents Alex Jones and Jayson Matthews? Do you have any concerns? Do you think you stand a chance at winning this match?"
"First and foremost don't ask stupid questions, do I have any concerns? Hell no, my only concern is where to celebrate after my victory. Listen it's very simple, I am better then both of these men. I am better looking, better in the ring, and just an overall better person. You see these two are so wrapped up in what they want for themselves, and what lies in their future. And so may say that I'm arrogant and only care about myself. Well this in all honesty is true, but the only difference is, if I win we all win. I am not here for self gain, no you see when I succeed everyone succeeds. When I win a championship, or win a match, not only do the fans get a five star match, but the boys in the back get to learn from a true talent, and when my name gets put at top billing, asses will be in the seats. And when those asses are in the seats those same asses buy merchandise, which makes the company money, which makes those greedy assholes in the back who are only out for self employed for just that much more longer."
Stevie stops and grabs a bottle of water, taking a sip, then clearing his throat.
"So to answer your question, no I have no concerns about them. Alex Jones, Jayson Matthews, are too concerned about praising each other and stroking each other's egos that I've become second thought to them.
Another reporter buts in and yells.
"what if they decide to team up and try to take you out?"
"Good question, but your lack of common logical sense is disgusting. You see there is only one guy who can win this match, they can team up all they want. But at the end of the day only one can win, and that means they will eventually turn on each other. And that leaves me wide open to go after the win. You see it's called smart wrestling, I work smart, not hard, which is why I am where I am today."
Stevie Starr looks down at his watch and then back up at the crowd of people.
"Sorry to but this short, but I have another engagement I need to get to. Thank you all for your time."
Stevie waves at the people and starts to head down towards the front door. Walking outside Stevie stops and removes his pack of cigarettes, lighting one up Stevie takes a nice long drag and begins to talk to himself as he walks towards his limo that is waiting.
"Alex Jones needs to keep his head in the game, being a "legend" he should know that. Thinking too much about retribution to Spike Kane is going to throw him off, and cost him what he ever so wishes. And Jayson...well Jayson is more excited about just being in the ring with one of his heros, I wouldn't be surprised if he asked for an autograph in the middle of the match. All I know is my chances look better by the minute, both men are so clouded with other things that it will be used to my advantage. You see I'm focused, I'm ready, I hope they are..."
Stevie's limo driver opens the door and smiles as he climbs in the car. Shutting the door we slowly fade out to black.
"Mr. Starr, I just want to give you a run down of today's agenda...if you don't mind?"
