It's rather late a night, the sky is clear, nice crisp, cool breeze in the air. Stevie Starr is seen jogging down a sidewalk along the road. Wearing a black tracksuit with the top unzipped, his grey shirt underneath covered in sweat. With his headphones on, Stevie slowly turns down the music on his ipod, so he is able to think clearly for a moment.
"One more day, one more day and then I get to prove why IWF is so high on me. Why they brought me in and put me in a match of this calibur right out of the gate. I will prove my worth, I will prove that I'm the future of this company. Jayson Matthews seems to be the weakest link in this match, his timidness alone is going to be his worst enemy."
Stevie starts to shadow box as he runs a little faster. Looking more focused than before, Stevie knows he must be victorious, he knows a lot rides on this match. This will either make or break Stevie, there is no second place for him, there's only a winner and a loser. There is no live to fight another day, you fight to win today so that the next day you can fight to win again.
"Jayson Matthews your lack of aggression has me wondering...Why are you here? Why are you even a wrestler? Wrestling is about aggression, wrestling is about hurting people, wrestling is about making sure people remember your name. Sadly I don't see any of that in the young man, no, I see a young man who is just lucky enough to get a signed contract. I see a young man who when it all boils down to it is nothing more than a guppy in a shark tank. Jayson Matthews better get his mind off of the ladies, and get his mind into the game. Swimming with sharks is never easy, especially if you are a guppy who's lost his way..."
Stopping a what appears to be a bench. Stevie Starr takes a seat to rest for a moment. Looking up at the stars, Stevie takes out a smoke and lights it up. Taking himself a nice long drag Stevie smiles...
"Nothing is more beautiful than those above. The stars, a place where someone with unlimited potential can go, like myself. And then there are those who can reach, climb, scratch, and claw their way to them only to fall short, like Alex Jones. A man who prides himself on what he has done in his past, not what he's going to do in the future. You see people who know time has passed them up always refer to what they have done. Because the harsh reality is they will never be that great again...And it's ok, we all become shells of our former self at some point in our careers. And while Alex Jones is slowly heading that way, I myself am just blossoming into who, and what I will be."
Finishing his smoke, Stevie Starr places his cigarette but in the ashtray next to the bench. Stevie stands up and begins to stretch and loosen himself up to continue his run.
"I like people who doubt me, I like when people look at me and they way I act and say negative things about me. It only makes me try harder, and it's only going to make them hate me even more when I shut them up. I might not be the biggest dog in the fight, and I may not be the smallest dog with the loudest bark, but I'm something much worse, I'm the smallest dog with the biggest bite. Others can bark all day about what they have done, but what have they done lately? What have they done recently? For people to forget who you are, they would have had to of known who you were in the first place, and sorry but Alex Jones, this is the first time I've ever heard of you, and already I'm hoping I get hit hard enough to forget you...because frankly I don't need more has been montages. I'm the future, I'm the IWF future, I will be the reason you still have a job in six months."
Stevie continues to jog away, what will happen at Survival of the Fittest? Can Stevie Starr make the biggest impact any rookie can make? Or will he be just another loud mouth? If Stevie looses what will his future hold? Will he continue? Or will he cut his career off before it even gets started? A lot of questions hang in the balance for Stevie, but will we get all the answers at Survival of the Fittest?
