Act 1: Another Chance and a bright outlook
"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing."

The scene opens on the Oracle Arena in Oakland. The show had finished just and the arena was starting to empty out. The parking lot was starting to empty out, except those that lingered backstage and near the back door in hopes of getting their favorite superstar's picture or autograph before heading back to their hotels or homes for the night. the lights from the arena burned into the night, as the stars twinkled high above and the moon was full and bright casting it's glow to the earth below. The camera moves to the interior of the arena where we find the stage hands and crew taking things apart and getting ready for Metamorphosis in Los Angeles. The stage had been torn apart and the pieces lay scattered on the floor ready to be put into the trucks for the move. The ring was taken apart and the posts and ropes had been set to the side while the lights still hung above in the rafters. The smell of pyro still hung in the air but the sound of the music had long since faded into nothingness and the lights had been dimmed once again. The camera pans to the now empty seats, but we soon see Avery sitting there with her feet resting on the seat in front of her. Her match had gone just as she had planned, and Mercedes was beaten. The sound of the crowd cheering as she hit Irish Eyes filled her with excitement knowing she had won the match and gained another win. Avery sat quietly watching the stage hands work letting her mind drift back to another time.
Avery snaps from the thought as she feels someone shaking her by the shoulder. She grabs them and flips them over seeing that it was just a simple messenger. Avery blushes a bright red, and helps him up from a couple rows down.
Avery: I'm sorry about that...
Messenger: It's ok. I shouldn't have disturbed you...
Avery: It's alright. But you should know better then to sneak up on me like that.
Messenger: I'll try to remember that next time Miss McCullen. Here you go.
With that he walks off leaving Avery along once again. She opens the piece of paper and she looks at it, and starts to walk down the stairs, heading towards the back to get her things. Avery passes the stage hands as she goes, and a few of them watch her walk by taking a long look as she does. She round the corner and runs into Willy Carter. Avery stumbles back as Willy just smiles.
Willy Carter: Sorry about Avery... I didn't see you there.
Avery: It's alright. What are you still doing here? I thought you would be gone for the evening.
Willy Carter: I was looking for someone to interview actually. The locker room cleared out really quick tonight.
Avery: Really? Well I'm free tomorrow if you want someone to interview.
Willy Carter: That sounds great. Where do you want to meet?
Avery: I'm staying at the Oakland Hilton by the airport. How about 2?
Willy Carter: All right... Two it is. Thanks Avery.
Avery: No problem.
With that Avery walks back toward her locker room and soon reaches finding a small present sitting by her bag. She looks around wondering who could have left it but there was no one in the hallways at the time. She sighs and opens it seeing a bottle of Irish Whiskey sitting in the box and a note attached to the bottle.
Avery: "Dear Avery, I'm a big fan. Last week you did great, I'm just sorry it wasn't you. I'll be watching you. Good luck tonight. From your Biggest Fan."
She sets the bottle back into the box and places it in her bag, and gathers up the last few items. Avery smiles to herself, as she heads toward the back door knowing that the fans would be gone by now, out of the night. She still clutched the note in her hand from the messenger. It was her next match, and it seemed strange to her. Both of them were good people and yet they were facing each other. This time there was no big baddies to take down, maybe just maybe this would be an easy match. She rounds the corner and there stands Marty and Shaun by the back door.
Marty: Are you ready to go?
Shaun: We've been waiting for almost an hour Avery. What's taken so long?
Avery: I'm sorry... I didn't realize we were on a time schedule.
Marty: We're not. We're just messing with you. But if your ready to go the car is waiting.
Avery: I am. Besides I want to get some rest before my interview with Willy Carter tomorrow.
Shaun: Are you serious? That's his name?
Avery: Yes. I know it's strange but he's really a nice guy.
Marty: I'm sure he is...
The two brothers look at each other, and follow Avery out the back door to the parking lot that was now empty except for a few cars that belonged to the janitors and the managers of the arena itself. Avery walks over to a black BMW and tosses the bag in the trunk and heads to the drivers seat, as Marty and Shaun get into the car. They head off back toward the hotel as the scene fades to black.
The scene opens on the Hilton Hotel in Oakland at a small white gazebo. The grass was still green and lush and the birds sang sweetly as people moved about the hotel property. We soon see Avery walking around the gazebo, waiting on Willy Carter. He soon appears and Avery smiles as she sits up on the railing of the gazebo.
Avery: You're late.
Willy Carter: Sorry about that. I went to your room, and I ran into your cousins...
Avery: Sorry about them... They were dropped on their heads as babies.
Willy Carter: Really?
Avery: No... They like to mess with people that's all.
Willy smiles a bit and leans against one of the posts in the front as Avery pushes back a piece of hair from her face.
Willy Carter: This week you're facing Jennifer Famularo. Or rather Jenny Williams. What are your thoughts about the match?
Avery: I think it's going to be a great chance to face someone that will hopefully show me some respect unlike Mercedes. Jenny seems like a nice person, and I really don't have anything against her.
Willy Cater: The match against Mercedes seemed to be a lot more violent. It became an all out brawl there toward the end. Do you expect this match to turn out the same way?
Avery: I don't think it will. If Jenny shows me respect and we can have a good match then so be it, but if it comes down to a brawl again then I'll make sure to end it just like it did with Mercedes.
Willy Carter: Jenny isn't a real mean person, but you know that she will bring everything that she has to, to get the win, and I know you will do the same, but how do you think you'll fair with someone that has just a few matches under them?
Avery folds her arms in front of her, and hops down from the railing of the gazebo.
Avery: She's like me. I've only had a few matches but I've been here a little bit longer. She and I have that in common at least. This match will be one that I want people to remember. How often is it that I get to face someone that is just starting out, and actually is nice?
Willy Carter: That's true. What are you going to do to win this match Avery?
Avery: I'm going to do whatever I can. I mean I'm not going to hold back just because she's good person. I'll do what I always do and start training for the match before Sunday, and make sure that I can hold my own, and I hope Jenny does the same.
Willy Carter: You're handling this pretty well. You win loss record isn't the greatest and yet you're not bad mouthing your opponent. Why is that?
Avery: I don't really care about the wins and losses I get. I did and it got to me really bad. But then my dear cousins said something that that made sense and clicked in. Last week when I faced Mercedes I let all of my aggression and hate out on her. But as for bad mouthing my opponent, there isn't really any need. Like I said I only reserve that for those that have a problem with me. Jenny doesn't seem like she's that bad, and someone that I can actually get along with.
Willy Carter: Wow... That's something that you don't hear that often.
Avery: That's because no one knows how to show respect to their opponents any more. If they do it's a big shock. I'm not a bad person really... I just have a short temper.
Willy Carter: We've seen that more than once in the ring against a few of your other opponents. Eternity, and Mercedes have learned that lesson more than once.
Avery: That's only because they got under my skin, and did something they shouldn't have done. They showed no respect to me, and talked trash about me. I jumped them and ended up taking down Mercedes...
Willy Carter: But you lost to Eternity.
Avery sighs, and nods her head. She had lost her last match against Eternity but learned that there was more to life then a simple win.
Avery: Yeah I did, but this week I'm not to going to lose.
Willy Carter: I think that's everything Avery. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me, and good luck this week.
Avery: Thank you Willy... But I don't need luck.
With that Avery walks away with a smile on her face and heads back to the lobby of the hotel.
Avery: I wasn't lying when I said I'm not going to bad mouth you Jenny. I know a lot of people take that as a weakness but I don't. I'm not a bad person, but when you do something stupid like challenge me or call me out then it's on. But you're like me. You see the world a bit different, and want to have a good time but we both have to stand in the middle of that ring on Sunday night and only one of can walk out of there with the win.
She soon reaches the lobby and walks back into the dim light of the lobby. A few people looked at her as she passed by only to dig out their camera's taking a few quick pictures before she disappeared.
Avery: Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to go easy on you, and I'm going to give you everything that I have, and try to win this match. I don't really feel like walking away from this match knowing that I could have won if I tried just a little bit more, or done something different especially after beating Mercedes the way I did last week. I will bring everything that I am into this match and show you why I am just as good as the other Diva's if not that much better. I haven't been in this business for a long time but I've come to know the ins and outs and how to handle myself in the ring. It's not an easy way of life, but it's one that I've come to enjoy. This week I know you'll fight me for the win with everything that you got, and won't disappoint me. I'm not going to underestimate you, but keep my guard up, not knowing how things are going to come out until that bell sounds, and one of us walking out of the ring with the win. I know that you would nothing less then my best during this match and I'm going to give it. I know what you're thinking, about the matches that I've been in that have ended with someone with a broken face or something else.
Avery soon reaches the elevators, and presses the button and watching the numbers come down. She leans against the wall as people pass by her, heading to another part of the hotel.
Avery: I don't know if there is anything else that I can say to you that I haven't already said Jenny. Hopefully this will be a match of respect between us. I don't want you to hold back or not give me a hundred percent in this match. Lets make this a match that the fans will enjoy and remember not for the violence or blood shed but for what we can do. I'll make you a promise right now... I will not use any underhanded tactics, in this match because I know you won't. I swear on my family's name, but if you cross me wrong, then all bets are off. See you soon Jenny... Oh and good luck...
Avery smiles to herself as the elevator doors open and she steps in. She presses a button and the doors soon close as the scene fades to black.
Small Village somewhere in Gambia
The scene opens on a blazing sun somewhere in the countryside of Gambia. The trees that shaded the ground, gave off cool air and shade, but the air around them was hot, and made it hard to breathe. We soon see Avery, Dick, Teddy, and a rather large black man standing with them. This was Stephan once of their contacts that had dealings in the underworld of Gambia. They were outside a small village hidden in the jungle just on the outskirts watching something that made Avery's stomach turn. The villagers were being shaken down by a group of men dressed in snake suites that were looking for something, or someone and not one of the villagers would give them the answer they sought.
Avery: *Whispering* What do we do?
Dick: *Whispering* Nothing just yet. Let's see where this goes, and then we'll intervene.
Stalon: *Whispering* They are looking for the same thing you are. These villagers are harmless...
Teddy:*Whispering* Maybe someone knows something about we are looking for.
Stalon: *Whispering* I don't think they would, but they are going to be sold into slavery.
Dick: *Whispering* Well, lets go and introduce ourselves then.
Dick gets up from he sits, and fires off a shot right into one of the men wearing the strange looking snake suits. The shot rings through the jungle and the others scatter as Avery moves toward the caged animals that they had to the side, as Teddy moves to the woman that one of the men in viper suits had in his grasp. Teddy saves her, and hits the man with a pick to the forehead. Avery smiles to herself, as she starts to open the locks on the cages of the lion and the wild pig that were in them. The wild pig bursts through the door as Avery undoes the lock, and flies toward the men in the snake outfits. They all run off with the wild animals chasing them as the villagers cheered for what had been done.
