Backstage in the cafetorium at Beckham Elementary School...
...we find Fiona McFly, sporting her Willy Wonka-esque costume of purple top hat, purple overcoat, and khaki pants, standing behind the curtain as she watches Beckham Elementary School principal make a speech to the assembled crowd at the school's annual variety show and barbecue cookout. Due to the threat of thunderstorms on this particular Saturday, the event has been moved indoors; yet that couldn't stop the ex-Badger from losing her cheerful visage.
For she was there to share her talents with the gallery of parents and their children.
One of those talents had never been fully explored before in her mind...the art of music.
On this day, Fiona will be performing "Pure Imagination," a tune from the 1971 musical Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The song was very personal to the Northern Irishwoman, for her grandfather had sang it to her when she was a small child, and she felt that the best way to pay tribute to the departed Seamus McFly was to give back to the community by performing the timeless anthem.
Calmly nodding her head, Fiona watched as the one-time kindergarten teacher introduced her to the stage.
MISS KIMBLE: And now ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...please welcome Miss Fiona McFly.

FIONA'S JOURNAL
24 September 2016
I must say...this year in general has been quite the rollercoaster ride.
I've had to endure some bad losses, but I've also earned some grand victories over a variety of highly-worthy opponents. Through it all, I've managed to stay the course, sticking to my principles without selling my soul to the devil or allowing myself to lose the one thing I've striven to uphold ever since day one--my true sense of purpose. Yet throughout the course of my IWF career, I began feeling that, perhaps, I've still got more things left in the proverbial basement than I've cleared out.
And then...the Diamonds Invitational was created.
The funny thing is, there seems to be a general consensus from the fanbase that Robero Verona himself only called for this match due to his selfish and misogynistic point of view, specifically his fear of having a female competitor break his own championship record. Whilst I, if I were to slot myself in a casual watcher's shoes, would feel as if I was right on the money...as a fellow Diamond competitor, I would personally say that there was more to it than what is presented on the surface.
And that, lovelies, is the singular, simple matter...of unfinished business.
It all started on the 24th of April, when I won the Iron Maiden and proved to the doubters just how much I have grown within the course of a full year. Then Night of the Immortals came, and I ended up being bested by the one known as Eternity. On that night, I gave her credit for being quite an...eccentric darling yet fearsome competitor. Yet looking back at it now, if there was one thing that could best sum up my feelings about that loss, I'll be perfectly honest with myself.
I felt...incomplete. Like I haven't done everything that I've set out to do.
I realise now that, even though I've done quite a lot within the IWF circles when it comes to learning how to evolve and to grow, there's still a lot of things I've yet to learn. And like a thousand other brave explorers who've scavenged through thousands of miles of landscape yet left things unfinished, I walk into the upcoming pay-per-view, yearning to finally be able to finish what I began this past April...
...without ever losing my smile, without losing my conscience.
~~
Moments later...
...Fiona took the stage, watching humbly as the audience in the hybrid cafeteria and auditorium politely applauded. The large lunchroom stage is decked out with red, white, and blue balloons, with tables lining up on the back wall that will soon be filled with loads upon loads of food and drink. Wearing a wireless microphone, the Northern Irishwoman clamed the assembly down as an instrumental begins to play.
Adjusting her horn-rimmed eyeglasses, Fiona waves to the crowd using her cane, eliciting some chuckles.
Fiona starts to perform a side-step routine, dancing her way towards the front of the stage and heading down to the cafetorium's floor.
A subtle round of applause breaks out as Fiona paused. With a wide smile on her face, she looked directly at every single man, woman, and child in the audience before pointing towards the back of the lunchroom and taking a slight bow. Without warning, the music reaches its crescendo as a wave of red-shirted volunteers--including Jack Gaither, walked into the room carrying trays of different Texas-inspired dishes and two-liter bottles of Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, and juices for the children.
Fiona began a vaudevillian dance routine through the aisles, high-fiving eager young boys and girls around the way.
The Northern Irishwoman continued her Broadway-style dance maneuvers, hugging a small boy in a wheelchair with a hearty, healthy smile before making her way back to the stage. Fiona then takes one of the balloons and kicks it around like a superior football ball, generating a roar of laughter.
McFly was truly enjoying herself--and more importantly, the audience was enjoying her act.
Fiona stopped at the middle of the stage, wiping away a small tear as the musical anthem drew to its conclusion--for her dear Granpapa was fully on her mind.
The song ended, and Fiona took a deep, sincere bow as the gallery applauded wildly. Grinning lovingly from ear to ear, the Badger alum turned her head, peering her eyes upon her former mentor Miss Kimble, who simply nodded her head in an act of humility and pride.
All Fiona McFly wanted to do was to share her talents with the community.
She did just that--and earned a great deal more respect in the process.

Eternity,
I don't know if you'll look back upon this or not, but the fact of the matter is that you were one of the most challenging opponents I've ever had, and that says something about the competition I've faced since I first got my sporting career underway. What you did to me this past May was no different than what you've done in the here and now, dispatching the likes of Sarah Jade Wilson, Kayla Richards, and others. I've been quite impressed with what you've been able to accomplish ever since you regained your title in February...beating me, no less.
You've been able to accomplish so much in your career because of your innate ability to get under people's skin and to torment those that want to “play” with you. I know this fact all too well...because I made the mistake of letting you subtly creep into my mind, breaking me down mentally as I struggled to fully understand just who the devil you are to begin with.
And it's stung me for months. It really has.
The thing is, you've utilised a wide range of human emotions—happiness, sadness, joy, anger, etc.--to great effect when it comes to defeating your opponents. Yet for all those feelings you've experienced throughout your lifetime, if there is ANYTHING that will eventually become your downfall, it's the one thing that I've striven to seek out ever since I first started in IWF...
...a clear, solid conscience.
One that's willing to learn, to evolve, and to grow...not to torment other human beings due to your experiences as a child.
Make no mistake about this darling...I didn't sign up to compete in the Diamonds Invitational to satisfy Roberto Verona's fear that a woman will break his record. No...I decided to compete for this match because, despite handling everything the right way, never losing my smile or my sense of well-being and purpose, I've felt incomplete ever since that night in Chicago. To me, this is more than the “humane” thing to do, more than the logical thing to do...
...this was a case of having unfinished business.
No longer will I stand idly and watch as you try and get under my skin once again. I won't allow myself to fall back and listen as you continue to torture other human souls...without so much as a clear, well-rounded state of mind. For I will be the one who will bring true honour back to the IWF Diamonds division, the beacon of light who will bring hope and smiles to the people of this world—just as I have done in the past, just as I will continue to do. I am the REAL Chosen One, the future of women's wrestling...
...and the future will be NOW.
Cheers!
