Backstage at the Beckham Elementary School cafetorium...
...we find Fiona McFly in a women's restroom, taking off her Willy Wonka costume after performing the classic tune "Pure Imagination," from the soundtrack to the beloved 1971 musical starring the late, legendary Gene Wilder. Breathing heavily, the Northern Irishwoman, now wearing a green Arlington High School alumni polo shirt and blue jeans, places the khaki pants and purple attire into her white duffle bag before zipping it up.
Yet as she does so, her thoughts began to focus not on her well-being, but on the memory of her late grandfather Seamus.
The Badger alum dropped to one knee and began openly weeping, for the beloved tune was her favorite song on the entire soundtrack and, incidentally, one that her grandfather sang to her when she was just a small child growing up in Northern Ireland. To Fiona, the song had meant more to her than anything else in the world--for it was her avenue of dreaming big, her way of escaping the turbulence and unrest that had plagued her native homeland.
Fiona felt a sense of accomplishment, for she had wowed an assembled crowd of parents, children, and community volunteers.
And that made her smile grow wider by the second.
Sighing to herself, Fiona calmly regained her composure, collected her thoughts, and grabbed the large athletic bag, and left the restroom. Once outside, she met up with Jack Gaither, who proudly nodded his head before taking the duffle bag and bringing it out to their car--but not before giving his fiancee a well-earned, richly-deserved embrace, whispering into her ear lovingly.
JACK GAITHER: I never knew you were a good singer...that was, 'til now.
The Wisconsin alum couldn't help but laugh out loud, thinking to herself "it's just a hidden talent" as she watched Jack head out into the school's dampened parking area.
"Perhaps," she thought with a sly chuckle. "I ought to get on 'The Voice'."

Patience. Understanding. Honour.
Many Diamonds within the IWF landscape have, at some point or another, claimed to uphold these three basic principles of Humanity...yet they fell short in one category, the other, or in some cases...all three. Failure, as it stands, was never an option in the eyes of my fellow competitors, who've become so desperate for attention and exposure that they would sell their souls in order to accomplish their goals in life. Unfortunately, I've had to realise that it's just a mere part of the nature of the beast as it struggles for survival using any means necessary—fair or otherwise.
And it's that very nature...that burns my soul, boils my blood...
...and drives me to be better than all the rest.
Throughout my IWF career, I've managed to uphold those three principles—doing everything the honourable way whilst never losing my conscience or smile, even as things don't pan out the way I hope them to do. I've always stayed on the straight path, even as others laughed at me, and never—not for a fleeting moment—contemplated selling my soul or hiding behind others. Now...I find myself in a four-way battle for the IWF Shieldmaidon, and given how it's current holder has managed to make a mockery of the same championshp that Kayla Richards bulit with her own bare hands, it's made me more determined than ever to end her reign of error...and restore the championship back to its formerly honourable luster.
Isn't that right...Paige?
You might've recently become the longest-reigning Shieldmaidon ever, of if you haven't yet, you're pretty close to it, but the way you originally won that belt...was one that still stings me to this very day. You concussed Kate Steele, then pinned her whilst she was being checked on by the officials. You then proceeded to make a complete arse of yourself and have a “defence” against your own sister Sara, who laid down for you for the mere sake of proving to the world that YOUR BRAND was better than mine.
Yet here you are, claiming to the entire planet that you've brought honour and respect back to a championship that Kayla HERSELF had strongly invested time and energy into defending it like a true competitor would—with dignity, honour, and grace. Those are the things that make up a clear, solid conscience, and as far as I'm concerned...
...you have NO conscience.
For you know nothing of honour.
My brand name is bigger than yours darling. Time and time again, even as you snickered at me, I've proven to YOU that I can compete with you. I've jumped through your hoops, I've played your games, and I've overcome EVERY obstacle you might have thrown in my direction in order to get to this point in time. And I will get my retribution, bringing REAL hnour and prestige back to the IWF Shieldmaidon without leaving no stone unturned.
I will no longer feel as if I have unfinished business—for I will complete the mission I've set for myself since day one.
What about you, hrmm Pandora?
I will admit...that I like you. I've always admired your style, which has been a breath of fresh air in a division that had grown quite topsy-turvy these days as women from all walks of life have come and gone. Your unique blend of speed, resiliency, and tolerance of pain has made you quite the worty opponent in this match. But unfortunately for you, there's just one singular problem that has held you back ever since you joined IWF.
That little glitch, as it turns out, is your relative recklessness due in large part to your inexperience.
I've said it once, but I'll say it again...recklessness might work from time to time, but sooner of later, will come back to haunt you. You haven't yet been able to fully understand your surroundings and your opponents. Now you're walking into this match, biting off more than you can chew against someone like myself, who will stop at nothing to make sure your feet are firmly on the ground and your left arm is nothing more than a disheveled mess of its glorious self.
So my question to you...can you handle the pressure?
I have what it takes to be successful in this sport. From day one, my purpose being in IWF was to get to know the lay of the land, to adapt to my oppnents' strengths and know their weakness. Yet with every bump in the road, with every mistake I've made, I have evolved, learning to grow both as a competitor and as a person. Perhaps, hunny-cakes, you might become IWF Shieldmaidon someday...but not now.
For learning things like growth and evolution...take patience.
Which is something that you, Crystal Millar, lack in every way imaginable.
You beat Sara Garcia. You've teamed up with her sister Paige to beat me and Pandora last week, and whilst that stung me just a little, I'll give you credit where it's due. You've come a LONG, LONG way since I made you cry “Auntie Em!” in the middle of that ring during the Heiress series, and for someone who had to have the other two principles of honour and understanding implanted in your skull time and time again by yours truly, you've impressed me—a ton. That should say something about you, the person, and not just the drama queen...right?
Well sadly sweetie-scone, looks like you're up to some new tricks.
Being successful in this industry, no matter how middling or grandiose, takes TIME to fully develop. You, on the other hand, would rather resort to making a list of all the names you want to beat to win the Shieldmaidon, including me, and waltz your way into a situation and act as if you're some stuck-up Hollywood actress because you managed to beat one-half of those Garcia meddlers. Now you've found yourself in a situation where one mistake can cost you anything...
...so here's the deal. What would YOU do if you failed to win the big one once again?
You've ZERO clue as to how long I've waited for this day. You haven't any idea whatsoever that I am not the same Fiona McFly you beat a few months ago. Since that time, I've learned to better myself, staying the course without ever losing my sense of well-being, never giving up my smile for a split second. I've longed for a year-and-a-half to get to this point in time, for I have EARNED everything I've ever been given.
All because I knew about patience, understanding, and honour from a man who was my rock in all walks of life--my Granpapa.
And I will be the one rewarded handsomely with that Shieldmaidon. For I am the REAL Chosen One, the future of the IWF women's division who will be a beacon of light and hope for those who haven't any....
...and the future will be NOW.
Cheers ladies!
