Wrestler's Name: Gabriela Luna
Nickname(s): La Maravilla Ardiente de Vuela (The Burning Marvel of Flight), La Estrella Reluciente (The Gleaming Star)
Gimmick: Gabriela grew up watching wrestling in her native Guadalajara and dreamed of joining them in the ring, but was rejected from multiple wrestling schools on account of her size. When she finally found acceptance for training, it was with a chip on her shoulder. Her need to prove those who had turned her away wrong evolved into a high-octane, high-risk offensive style that blended lucha libre and Japanese-influenced striking, as well as a confrontational, showy personality on the mic and in the ring. Every time the crowd reacts to her between those ropes, Gabriela proves herself right and everyone who ever doubted her wrong, and she wants to be proven right at as high a decibel count as she can.
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 105 lbs.
Place of Birth: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
Alignment: Face
Pic Base: Thea Trinidad/Rosita
Appearance/Attire: Gabriela wears brightly colored tights and boots with a slight gloss to them, with iridescent Aztec-inspired designs down the sides of her tights and the kickpads on her boots. For big matches, she will wear a hooded vest with a phoenix on the back to the ring as entrance attire.
Theme Music: "Vortex" by Los Savants
Entrance: {The relentless opening chords of "Vortex" by Los Savants crash out as Gabriela Luna dashes out onto the stage, throwing her fist into the air to the cheers of the crowd. She shouts at the crowd, beckoning them on with her hands, and grins widely at them before turning and charging down the ramp. Gabriela leaps and slides feet-first under the bottom rope, rolling to her feet and coming up with a defiant shout of joy. She runs over to the nearest empty corner, leaping up onto the second turnbuckle and further beckoning the crowd on before hopping down into a crouch and waiting for the match to start.}
Special Entrance: {The relentless opening chords of "Vortex" by Los Savants crash out as Gabriela Luna dashes out onto the stage, throwing her fist into the air to the cheers of the crowd. She shouts at the crowd, beckoning them on with her hands, and grins widely at them before turning and charging down the ramp. Gabriela leaps and slides feet-first under the bottom rope, rolling to a crouch with a grin on her face. She stands, walking to the middle of the ring, and paces back and forth in the center for a moment before dropping back to a knee and pounding her fist into the mat as pyro erupts from the ringposts. She leaps back up to her feet, popping her hood back with a shout, and runs over to the nearest corner, hopping onto the second turnbuckle and further beckoning the crowd on before dropping down into a crouch and waiting for the match to start.}
Primary Style: Lucha Libre (think Fénix or Aero Star, lots of flips, tilt-a-whirls, springboards, arm drags, and general high-speed flippy offense)
Secondary Style: Striker (think Kota Ibushi, blending the high-flying into a vicious striking style with lots of stiff knees and kicks)
Other Style: Showman (think Shinsuke Nakamura, almost swaggering confidence and a significant helping of crowd interaction and taunting her opponents)
Strengths:
Dizzying Offense: Gabriela believes fervently in not wasting a moment in a match, and this translates to being in motion as often as possible. She's learned to use her body as a weapon and sometimes a projectile, and that level of explosive all-out offense lends itself well to blitzing matches where the pace is only under control in a technical sense.
Trash Talk: Never afraid to speak her mind, Gabriela is more than happy to use insults and taunts to attempt to throw her opponents off their game. She's not above playing on recent setbacks or long-standing issues in order to open a window for her offensive game to be implemented, and the moment an opening presents itself she's happy to exploit it.
Weaknesses:
Size: Gabriela may hate it when it's brought up, but she is, in no uncertain terms, undersized. At five feet even and just barely over 100 pounds, even the lower end of most American women's divisions has a size and power advantage over her. She tries to compensate with her speed, but if a match devolves into power versus power, she is going to come out on the losing end.
Aggression: A consequence of Gabriela's no-brakes wrestling style is that many opportunities present themselves for reversals and counters that deal increased amounts of damage to her. A canny opponent can take advantage of these to arrest her momentum and stop her dead in her tracks, never a comfortable place for her to be.
Favourite Moves:
Leaping headscissors takedown
Tilt-a-whirl arm drag
Slingshot DDT
Springboard forearm strike

Jumping heel kick
Running double knee strike to a seated opponent
