-------------Wrestler Info-------------
Wrestler's Name: George S. Murdock II
Nickname(s): Gonzo (in wrestling), Deuce (outside of the ring to distinguish himself from his father)
Gimmick: A guy who has lost it all and has nothing more to lose. Now he’s all about the MONEY, since he’s buried deep in legal bills, child support, and alimony.
Previously, he was popular wrestler in the Indies who attained a moderate measure of success, mostly in tournaments. Known mostly for the fact he wrestled despite a physical handicap (amputated right foot) that he acquired during his time in the military. It was also alluded that he had deep ties within the United States government, especially the Intelligence Community.
What was not known is behind the scenes, he suffered from major drug addictions and severe PTSD, which led to his departure from the several federations on more than one occasion. These problems eventually led to him losing his security clearance, getting burned, and facing many legal battles.
His personal life is no picnic, either. He has four children with four different women, with each one wanting to get a piece of him as they can. He has lost the support of his own family (which he was never really close with, to begin with) and cannot find much in the way of legally supporting his family.
The few friends and family he is still close to are not doing so well themselves. His best friend and lawyer Zeeshan Lazlo is dying of terminal stomach cancer. His brother Doug was KIA in Afghanistan. His former CO Michael Steele is forced to keep his distance from Gonzo. And Vinnie Briggs, well, Gonzo was never really close with that guy…
The few people in the wrestling business that would talk to him directed him towards the IWF. Despite his reputation, he's given a shot and a pretty decent contract. Alas, with all the debt he's incurred to stay out of prison, it still isn't enough to cover him and his standard of living.
The bottom line is this: He’s not here for titles. He’s not here for the fans. He’s not here for revenge. And he certainly isn’t here for himself or for the love of professional wrestling. He’s here for the MONEY, and he’s going to make it. Or die trying. Maybe this time, for real…
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 232 lbs
Place of Birth: Utica, New York
Billed from: A Van Down By The River!
Alignment: Tweener for the time being...
Pic Base: Cesaro
Secondary Pic Base: None
Appearance/Attire: In the ring, black leather boots, black tactical pants, black moisture-wicking longsleeve shirt. He has an excellent physique, but hides it due to third degree burns and wounds sustained from his military service. His right leg and the right side of his torso and back are covered in burns.
Outside of the ring, he dresses like a bum. Also tends to wear disguises, as he is paranoid (with good reason) that his former enemies from his past may try to kill him.
Theme Music: Cage The Elephant - "No Rest For The Wicked"
Entrance: "No Rest For The Wicked" by Cage The Elephant begins to play, as Gonzo walks out from behind the curtain down the ramp to a polarizing reception. His die-hard fans will cheer him, his offended fans will boo him, and the rest will fill in as appropriate for the time.
As he walks to the ring, he looks into the camera and rubs his fingers and thumb together, indicating he wants MONEY, before he slides underneath the bottom ropes and gets to his feet.
SPECIAL NOTE: Will try and talk to his opponent before the match, to ask if his opponent is willing to pay Gonzo to lose the match. I will PM Gonzo's opponent well in advance to see how this plays out.
Special Entrance: Fake money with Gonzo's face on it rains from the ceiling. (This can be tucked into the entrance somewhere deemed appropriate.)
Primary Style: Martial Arts
Secondary Style: Submission
Other Style: Technical
Strengths: He has genius-level intellect, and uses it inside the ring in an innovative, tactical, and calculating manner. Can also take a ton of punishment in the same vein as Mick Foley or Terry Funk, just as much as he can dole it out. Gonzo is also very gifted at gab, as in he's able to cajole, irritate, and otherwise befuddle most of his opponents just by talking. This tends to cause his opponents to get angry and make mistakes that he will capitalize on quickly.
Weaknesses: His artificial foot has made him slower than he once was, reducing his ability to react to surprise attacks or other quick offense. Despite his ability to take punishment like a boss, he also has a tendency to be quite injury prone. He is almost never wrestling at even 80%, let alone ever being at 100% in terms of being healthy. Gonzo will do almost anything for money, to include dangerous or illegal things.
