I get it Steve...I do.
The scene comes to and I’m shown leaned up against a brick wall in the area, arms crossed and a smirk on my face.
You’re on the high of a lifetime. You just put Rob Diamond out of your misery, and now it’s time to focus on the one man that means the most to you...you.
I throw my hands out to the side and shrug my shoulders. There’s a calmness to my overall demeanor as I continue.
So what do you do to reassert yourself here in the IWF, now separated from the House of Howlett? You enter the Roulette.
An exasperated sigh of annoyance leaves my lips.
I understand Steve, you want to make your name known again. There’s a problem though...you’re entering a match that I have to win.
I shake my head, dismissing any notion that my audience might have a clue of what I’m talking about.
It’s now what you think. It’s more than just winning the Roulette and going to main event Night of the Immortals in my home state. It’s about cementing my legacy Steve.
I’m a former Man of Steel.
I’m a former Imperial Champion.
I’ve won the Joker In the Pack.
I’ve been the Heir to the Throne.
By winning the Roulette, by dumping you and twenty-eight others over the top rope and having my hand raised, I will have done everything there is to do in this company. Then? Then it becomes about main eventing Night of the Immortals. THEN it becomes about making history and becoming the first EVER two time Imperial Champion.
So despite what you might think, this isn’t about you...it’s about something much bigger...history.
I feign shock as I think about this past Monday night on Sacrifice.
So imagine how I felt when you just up and declared yourself eligible for the Roulette. Take a guess at what you stealing my spotlight did for me Steve? I was going to let the world know how important it would be for me. I was going to inform them of just how much history the people watching had a chance to witness, and just like that…
I snap my fingers.
You took that moment from me.
I shrug my shoulders, dismissing the past as exactly that...the past.
So now we get a shot to see who the better man truly is. We get a shot to put on a show in the center of that ring in front of thousands of people in attendance, and a few million watching around the world. I know what it is I have to do Steve...do you?
I start walking out of the scene before leaning my head back in.
I’ll see you Monday.

Title: Something To Do
Location: Bossier City, Louisiana
Time: Midnight (After Sacrifice)
I sat there with a smile on my face on the end of the bed. I waited for the door to the bathroom to open and as it did, I didn’t bother moving. Alexis walked out and saw the smile on my face.
Alexis Caffrey: What’s that look for?
I turned toward her with an eyebrow raised.
Mike Laszlo: What look would that be?
Alexis Caffrey: The one that says you’re happy. I haven’t seen that after a show in a long time.
Mike Laszlo: Because I haven’t been happy in some time. I finally have something to really do. It’s not just some random match. It’s not just some random tournament. It’s not just a return for the sake of returning. It’s a direction.
Alexis Caffrey: And what a direction it is.
I nod.
Mike Laszlo: That it is. I mean, a year ago, who really thought they’d see me and Steve Awesome in the same ring? Who really thought something would come of this little staredown after he just had a huge match with Rob Diamond that effectively ended Rob Diamond...for now.
Alexis Caffrey: I know I didn’t.
Mike Laszlo: I mean, this is two of the bigger stars in wrestling, not just today, but ever and now we’re going to get to see that happen, and honestly...I can’t wait.
Alexis Caffrey: It should be good.
The scene starts to fade as the two of us get ready to leave the hotel.
