Week after week we keep on coming back tah the same old sayin’, this train? It jus’ keeps on rollin’ baby. Ain’t nothin’ gonna top this Buck Spencer kid? Right? Ain’t nobody gonna stop this Runnin’ Reb from stompin’ his way through the eye double ya eff roster, and marchin’ his way to tha top of tha ladder and toward championship gold! I’m tellin’ ya boys and girls.
It’s just a matter of time.
Ah’ve kept mahself tah mahself so far, only really speakin tah the men ah’ve been set against, only really speakin tah those that the brass wanna see me tangle with, but ah’m not an idiot, ah have bigger goals in mind. Ah have mah sights set on bigger goals, an one way or another ah will make a name for mahself in this company. Ah’m gonna go out there, an’ ah’m gonna bring some gold home to the Spencer Family once an’ for all…..ah’m-a make mah Pops proud ‘o me, an’ ah’m ‘a bring pride tah mah home town.
Everyone will remember mah name.

We open up on the scene of the Spencer boys specialised RV home parked at the side of a long stretch of road somewhere in the middle of nowhere in particular, pretty remote. The sounds of a skateboard clacking along the road with the occasional pop and click of tricks being landed, or failed can be heard as we see Jeb Spencer skating about, while Buck Spencer sits on a deck chair on top of the RV itself. Big Spencer Spencer is stood leaning against the side of the RV, with the door wide open, we can see Ricky Spencer inside typing away on his heavily modified laptop.
Spencer: Ah don’t see where he gets the energy to do this from.
Spencer shouts to his two brothers as he puts a toothpick in his mouth while watching the smaller Jeb.
“It’ all the gorram sugar”
Both of the brothers respond at the same time, without even flinching, which gets a slight chuckle out of Spencer who just folds his arms and continues to watch Jeb, who picks his board up and moves out of the way of a car speeding down the road. The car honks it’s horn at him, but Jeb just holds his hand in the air, not prepared to let the person ruin his good mood. He sees that Spencer is watching him, as he throws his board down and jumps onto it, heading towards him.
Jeb: Yo biggie, check it out!
He squats down on his board and then leaps attempting to do a hardflip but wipes out horribly and lands in a heap on the floor, this causes Spencer to burst out laughing and double over clutching at his chest. Jeb manages to clamber back to his feet and grabs his board, sulking before dropping his board next to the RV before slugging Spencer in the gut.
Jeb: You don’t gotta be such a dick about it.
Spencer: Man, ya face slammed off the floor!
With a shake of his head, Jeb begins to climb up onto the top of the RV before slumping down indian style next to Buck, who is staring out at the sunset in the distance.
Buck: You OK little brother?
Jeb: Yeah man, elbows sting….but ah’m good….sup with you?
He doesn’t respond right away, he just sits there picking at the skin under his fingernails looking out at the distance.
Buck: Just thinking, y’know? Ah ….ah miss home Jeb….
For once the smallest of the Spencer tribe is actually at a loss for words, he looks up at the stoic Spencer brother who seems to be second guessing himself for once, gone is his arrogance and brash attitude, gone is his cocky football persona, for the first time since we’ve seen him show up Buck actually seems a little lost.
Jeb: Bucky….if there’s one thing ah’ve learned, an ah’ve learned it from y’all…..home ain’t a place. It’s people!
As he says it, he places a hand on his brothers knee, and Buck turns to face his little brother with a smile on his face. Just as the two of them share this tender moment, Ricky Spencer makes one hell of a ruckus bursting out of the RV.
Ricky: You guys, get in here, ya gotta see this…
He doesn’t wait for them to answer, instead scrambling back inside to his laptop. Within seconds the three other Spencers are all clamoring back in after him huddling around his laptop.
Buck: What’s all the hubbub?
Ricky: It’s her…...they signed her…..
Spencer: …..no.
Jeb: ….aww sheeet.
The four Spencer brothers look at the laptop screen that shows the IWF.com page announcing the upcoming Diamond in the Rough tournament listing some of the names taking part, with Ricky having highlighted one name in particular…..Abigail Spencer.
Buck: ….fuck.
Cut.

Evidently, they see money in you an’ me boy.
Funny that, ain’t it? Cuz, you an’ me? We ain’t exactly the marquee names you’d expect ta see on some big old posters would you? Ah mean, ah know who ah am, y’know what ah’m sayin’? Ah ain’t no poster boy for nobodies business…..an’ you? You’re tha poster boy for the word underdog - which ain’t exactly a bad thing…..because ya know what Jayson? Ah learned a lot about you a couple a weeks ago. Ah learned a lot about what ya bring to the table, an ya earned a helluva lot of respect from me.
Ah ain’t lyin’ kid, ah respect you.
Two weeks ago, you was sick as a pig but you strapped on ya gear and got yaself down tah that ring and still gave it ya all. Yeah, ah mean, ah still came out with tha double you, but you got tha crowd behind ya, you got the boys in tha back behind ya, and ya earned mah respect by showin’ me exactly what ya were willin’ ta do, just for an ordinary match. It weren’t not big marquee match, there wuz no title shot on the line, there wuz no number one contendership, there wuz no advancements…..ya follow? It was just a straight up match, and you went out there and gave it everythin’ you had….and that took balls kid, it took guts, it took everythin’ that almost everyone ah’ve come across so far has lacked.
That’s why ah’m lookin’ forward tah round two.
See, ah ain’t gonna underestimate ya going inta Sacrifice this time, ya done gone opened mah eyes to what ya are actually capable of, an ah need to be more aware of what ya can do when we get in that ring come go time, ya know? There’s only so much faith in mah own abilities ah can have, ah’m confident, that’s for sure, ah mean, ah’m the Runnin’ Reb, ah’m gonna be the greatest thing from the South that this company has ever seen…..but ah can’t just keep goin in ta matches blindly, an’ thinkin’ ah can just walk on through untouched, like ah’m some kinda frikkin’ superman or some shit. Ah’m gonna pay attention Jayson, ah’m gonna watch dem tapes, ah’m gonna train twice as hard, an eat all mah vitamins, do all that shit….so come Sacrifice?
Ah can really kick yo ass.
The fun and games are comin’ to an end for me and mah brothers kid, an’ it’s time for us ta get serious…..this match is a perfect time for that ta happen. Ah don’t mean you any ill will, or anythin’ of tha sort at all, but she is comin’ Jayson…..an’ tha landscape of this place is about ta change, the mood of it all is about ta change, an ah need to show that ah am worth keepin’ around.
So for what it’s worth?
Ah’m sorry for what ah’m about ta do.
