It would be wrong to say that Astrid felt like she'd been hit by a truck - that she'd been crushed between two felt more appropriate. She hadn't anticipated Rowan and Alicia working together the way they had, and had paid the price for it hard. Emma had told her that she'd managed to crawl to the corner and out of the ring, but she didn't remember any of that - her memories were a very abrupt jump from seeing the hit coming to waking up in the hospital with a neck brace.
It wasn't the first injury she had sustained in the IWF, and it wasn't the most severe... but she couldn't help but feel a little humiliated by being locked into a soft bed with a neck brace. It didn't seem fitting for a warrior. She had insisted that she could stand and walk despite the pain, but had been swiftly corrected when she got to her feet and was immediately overwhelmed by vertigo, resulting in her face meeting the cool tile of the hospital floor. She hadn't tried to push the recovery since, instead stewing in irritation as she scrolled through the channels of her room's television, unable to find anything that appealed to her.

You'd hear her before you saw her, and feel her enegery before you heard her voice the hip hip skip step a soft congrtularory happy voice passed on, somebody gets a hug somewhere, and in the few moments before the door opens and that blue haired woman sticks her head i the world feels all that much more alive before she spoke with sigh.
"You look like you could use some company."
The fates cannot be accused of not having a sens of humor, sometimes, you get exactly what you ask for, as the woman slides into the room, wether Astrid invites her in or not.
"If you don;t want eme around.. I can give you our present and skedad."
She gave a genuine smile ad hse rubbed her arm with a slight adorable smile.

Astrid happily turns off the television. She rarely watched anything anyway, much preferring to train or commune with nature. The modern era really wasn't meant for her.
"Don't you dare do that skedad thing," she warns warmly, unable to fully turn her head to greet Pandora. "Though I'm surprised you have the time to be here. Rumor has it you have your first big title defense next week against Gabriella Luna. From what I saw of her mathches with Eternity, she's going to be a rough ride."
Her face softens. "But don't mistake my meaning, Pandora. I'm glad you did come. I was getting a little stir crazy locked up with all of these... soft things."

"Rest is as important as working your ass off, As apoem I like goes what is this life , if full of care? We have no time to stand and stare?"
Pan slid on over with a spin and took a moment to offer Astrid a small wrapped packeage and she nodded gently.
"Besides, Stir crazy sucks"
Contained inside the package was a medium sized Dreamctacher, ropes and raven fetahers adoring it's decoration as Pan nodded a bit.
"You'll be fine hon."

Astrid smiles at the Dreamcatcher. "I've never had one of these. Gods know I've been dealing with bad enough nightmares lately. Hopefully this helps push them away. I approve of your choice in feathers."
She glances at a nearby wall. "I'm not allowed to stand to hang it up properly, though. Think it'll work if I just... keep it her with me?"
She chuckles happily and sets the dreamcatcher over her heart with a grin. "Thank you, Pandora. That you would think to get me anything at all means the world, though your coming is gift enough."
"How have you been? Anything exciting happen after Shea took Alicia to task? How are things with the buildup to the PPV? I hate being so out of the loop."

Pan titled her head at the mention of dreams as Astrid indicated she'd keep it with her, and she intoned softly.
"It's not the tools Astrid, you know that. There's also nothin' to say you -have- to hang it up. And I figured a touch of Thunin and Munin might help and I c'n hang it for you if you like?"
She muses at the question and chuckles.
"Well, You foavourite Redhead i s facing Alicia and Rowan for the Sheildmaiden belt after her victory."
She strokes herown chin and considers it.
"M'man is Tagging Robbie Vs against Mike Laszlo and Cable, thes rest is Bread and circuses, you know the deal."
She smirks softly and said gently.
"Some Vikiing looking Chick is running roughshod over the competiton, I think you'd like her."
She nods a bit.
"I still owe you a song."
She chuckles.

Astrid grins. "I'd make a bad Asatruar if I didn't believe in magic, Pan," she replies. "But if it doesn't need to be hung up to work, then I'm happy to keep it here. Always enjoyed the touch of feathers."
Astrid groans. "Ugh! Bad enough she has to fight them with me at her side, but now alone? I need to get the hell out of here so that I can make it to the show. Spike and Verona? They should kick ass in that, even if Verona's a little rusty from an extended leave."
She chuckles at the last comment. "Please. I won a fatal five, but then got my neck halfway to broken the next time I walked in the ring. Hardly running roughshod. But you're right about the song. I do hold people to their promises."

Pan laughed a little and she shook her head speaking softly as a hand laid on Astrids.
"You're still rocking it Astrid, don't let the bastards grind you down."
She nods a bit and teases playfully.
"Who knows, you might face me again, that'll be fun!"
She's a strange one our Pandora even as she muses and chuckles.
"Well I am here."

Astrid laughs. "If the time does come that we are called on to battle again, I will relish being able to pin you to the mat in that rematch. But I suspect it will be some time before I have the chance to make a run at such a prestigious title as yours."
Astrid tilts her head in mild confusion, grinning incredulously. "What, right here? No need to spend hours slaving away at a computer meticulously choosing notes and lyrics - just pop out a song in a fit of whimsy?"

Pan grins wildly at that question and she turned a bit grabbing a tray, and flipping it over to start a drum beat , snapping a counter beat to the bed and she started to rumble out something simple, voice low as she sang.
"Sheild Wall forms and makes it's cry, Blades they crash and the foe does die."
Beat beat beat
"Odin, he hears her call, valour, strength she's brave , she fights to right the wongs she sees and through all she prevails."
Beat Beat Beat.
Pan smiles at that and she wrinkles her nose to look up.
"Music is in the heart"

Astrid smiles and shakes her head, chuckling again. "You really are something else. I've been trash at music since I was a kid. Can't stay in tune to save my life, and I don't have the patience or mentality for instruments. It's an honorable craft, just one that evades me... and you've seen how I dance!" She laughs again at the memory.
"You're lucky to have such a gift, and I am honored that you would share it with me. Would that I had a gift beyond battle with which I could repay you in kind."

There's a long pause and Pan chuckles a bit and shook her head.
"I ain't trying to get the fame form it, unlike ome I could mention, even when we're not fightin' seem she finds a way to make a dig."
She looked over Astrid and considered the words with a smile.
"You'll figure it out, Astrid."
A small sigh and she mused.
"You'll figure itout, Art and violence aren't that much seperated."

Astrid nodded. "Perhaps you are right. Art is, at its core, simply a method of making form from feeling - and I cannot deny that I do exactly that every time I cross blade, lance, or fist with another on the field of battle."
"How are things between you and Spike? When we ran into him at the pub last week things seemed... tense. I hope everything is okay? It wasn't my intent in any action to cause friction."

Pan smiles softly and looks at her, speaking softly.
"There's alot about Spike I don't know Astrid, and I think I hit on something, and Ididn;t know it until I saw him never touch a drop of hooch, folk only do that for a couple of reasons."
Pan sighed a little.
"It wasn't you, it wasn't us, also Spike weather I ike it or not carres his repuataton everywhere I can look past it, he doesn't scare me, He's just...a Guy who needs help, a guy who is very very hurt and who's rage he directs at the thing that hurt him. Like Warren.. He does the same...and I just...wanna help."
The instenisty in Pan's gaze suddenly snaps like a wave, her smiel wearing as she looks and a Atrid and myabe for amomen Pandora seems like the most real thing in the room.
"We've only just started down this road Astrid, and I'm nt expecting a bumpy ride but.. You gotta sail the storms to find the shore right?"
she nods and smiles.
"I will brave any storm."

Astrid listens with a serious expression, nodding slowly as she finishes. When she speaks she does so earnestly, though also deliberately as though carefully choosing every word.
"Spike Kane is lucky to have you in his life, Pandora Freeman," she replies. "The love you show him through action and word... any would be counted among the luckiest in the world to have earned such from you. While many might disagree, I am of the belief that nobody is beyond redemption if the approach it with honest hearts. He has done many terrible things in his life, and has hurt many... but if you believe in him as truly as you clearly do, then I have no reason to doubt. I wish you both the best for as long as you sail that storm together."
There is a twinge of melancholy in the last words, but her eyes belay no deception or ill-will.
