We cut to Tiffany Jones backstage, with a microphone in hand. She’s standing by with Shea O’Hara.
Tiffany Jones: Shea, earlier tonight, we heard the woman you fought tooth and nail with at Diamonds Are Forever challenge you to a one on one rematch for the current hotly disputed Queen’s Gambit briefcase, more specifically Serenity Holmes challenged you to a one on one ladder match in an attempt to settle the issue and try to crown an undisputed winner of that coveted Championship contract. Do you care to offer her a response?
Shea takes a deep breath, and smiled.
Shea O’Hara: My response? My response is simple, Tiffany. I admire her moxie at trying to goad me into a rematch on her terms, and were it within my power to do so, I might even be tempted to accept her terms, but it isn’t. I’ve never had that kind of power here in the IWF, even for the five years I worked as a road agent for this company following my injury, I was never given the authority to make the matches around here, like. Now I’m sure that somebody with the proper authority is already considering a one on one rematch for us, likely at Metamorphosis in a few weeks. Assuming of course, that whoever has the book these days doesn’t prefer the idea of awarding us both the contract for a triple threat or something, like…
Shea paused, a small grin as she adjusted the shades over her eyes.
Shea O’Hara: But in my opinion, another ladder match where possibly the same inconclusive result could occur wouldn’t be a very wise booking decision. I think management are smarter than that, and I’m sure they’re going to want to give Serenity and I the kind of rematch that leaves no doubt as to which one of us should hold the briefcase, and unlike Miss Holmes, I prefer not to jump the gun and set myself up for disappointment if it turns out management won’t give me exactly the kind of rematch I’d prefer….
Tiffany Jones: I see, so you’re happy to take a more cautious ‘wait and see’ approach?
Shea O’Hara: Sure, and like I’m sure that annoys Serenity, but IWF management have earned my trust several times over the last few years. They looked out for me, made sure I was well taken care of and compensated for in my time of need. I have little doubt that they will do right by me again with whatever they decide the terms of our rematch should be…
Tiffany Jones: Okay, whilst I have you here, I would be remiss if I didn’t take the opportunity to ask you about the violent and bloody assault on Virginia Stepanov, Astrid Hall and Rowan MacDonnough, three of the most prominent members of The Murder and the very same group that you, Abigail and Eternity vowed to take the fight to when you first all returned to the company…
Shea O’Hara: And so, naturally you assume that we MUST have had something to do with breaking into their private dressing room and laying them all out in their own blood, like? Maybe we took down one each, is that what you’re thinking, Tiffany? Three of them, three of us…
Tiffany Jones: Honestly, I wouldn’t blame you if you did…
Shea O’Hara took a moment to remove her shades and adopt a more neutral expression.
Shea O’Hara: Well, I didn’t. In fact, I had absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I have enough on my plate right now with the unresolved Queen’s Gambit briefcase situation, I don’t need to force an issue with The Murder. When I step up to remove the Women’s World Championship from their control, I want to do it the right way. Face to face, woman to woman, like I’ve always handled my business. I’ve never needed to sneak attack Rowan or any of her cronies before to get my point across and I certainly don’t need to pull that shit now. That approach might work well for some folk, but it’s never been my style, personally…
Tiffany Jones: What about Abigail and Eternity?
Shea O’Hara: What about them? Are you asking me if I think they could have taken it upon themselves to launch an attack on The Murder? I mean, sure it’s possible, anything’s possible especially when dealing with the unpredictable force of nature that is Eternity and Lord knows Abby’s had a history of problems with Rowan and Virginia especially, but even still I can’t bring myself to believe they’d handle business this way. It just doesn’t feel like them to me, but hey I also once believed Vivienne would never vibe with the likes of The Murder, so what the hell do I know about my supposed friends, I guess. I’ve been wrong before, like…
Tiffany Jones: Still, you must feel vindicated in some way? Knowing that somebody else felt strong enough to try and solve The Murder issue for the safety of the entire women’s division?
Shea O’Hara: Sure, like I’ve said before, I’m glad the women around here are not as intimidated by Rowan MacDonnough or any of her minions like they were years ago when she led The Pack. I’m not going to shed any tears over what happened, Rowan has made her fair share of enemies in this company and I guess some of them got sick of her shit just enough to finally do something about it. Either way, hopefully we can all move on from their absolute dominion over the women’s division crap and get back to what this business should really be about…the thrill of legitimate and fair competition, like…
Shea took a moment to look directly at the camera.
Shea O’Hara: And V, girl, if you’re watching, I’m telling you as your once best friend, take what happened tonight as a wake up call, please. Abandon the sinking ship now whilst you still have a choice, because I really don’t want to consider you an obstacle on my way to redemption against Brooklyn. Please…if our friendship ever meant anything to you, please see sense and stop this foolishness. It’s gone on long enough, hasn’t it?
Shea left the question unanswered, as she left Tiffany alone, holding her microphone.
