Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Mason St. Croix. Former Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment out of Ft. Benning, GA. I’m a third generation US Army Ranger and I served five tours over my 12 years as a Ranger. I served from 1999 to 2009, and again from 2015 to February of this year. I’ve had medals pinned to my chest by three different US Presidents. The only thing I’m more proud of than my service to my country are my children, Jackson and Emily.
Truth be told I never wanted to be a wrestler.
When I got out of the service the first time I needed a job and I learned quick. The more I learned and the better I got the more I fell in love with it. I was always a fan though, it just wasn’t anything I ever saw myself doing until I was actually doing it. I trained for less than six months before they said I was ready to start sending out tapes to different promotions.
In August of 2010 I made my professional wrestling debut for nCw on their Wired Pre-Show before the Ascension Pay Per View, defeating Justin Reynolds and Red Dragon even though no one picked me to do so. I would go on to win my next three matches before being offered a job as a civilian soldier in a Special Ops mission that I couldn’t refuse. I returned to the ring in IWF in 2013, winning awards for Hero of the Year and Breakout Star of the Year. I’ve also been IWF Heavyweight Champion, Man of Steel Champion, and Tag Team Champion.
Then in March of 2015, I just walked away.
I’d been betrayed by my only friend in this business. I’d just found out that some of the horrible things I’d been told I had done in my past were a giant lie. My ex-wife had decided to stay with her new husband who almost beat her to death instead of trying to rebuild our family and my son hated me. To say I wasn’t exactly in the right frame of mind when I walked away from IWF would be the biggest understatement ever, but I did the only other thing I knew how to do.
I went back to the War.

February 6th, 2017-
The warm wind whipped the sand through the night air at the unknown military base somewhere in the Middle East. Dozens of smaller housing units surrounded the large four story building where the senior officers slept. The big building more closely resembled a miniature luxury hotel than the dingy barracks you’d picture in the middle of a warzone. Inside of the solid marble structure were eight individual living quarters complete with bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. The bottom left hand unit closest to the main road was where Lt. Colonel Mason St. Croix had lived for nearly two years. As Mason lie sleeping he was awaken by a knock at the door. He jumped up, grabbing his M9 from the nightstand by his bed before glancing over at the clock.
Mason: 0340? You gotta kiddin’ me! I have to be up in twenty minutes, this damn well better be good.
Mason grumbled to himself as he made his way to the door. As he got closer to the door he began shouting.
Mason: Identify yourself! I am armed and will not hesitate to defend myself or my men!
The voice on the other side of the door shouted back.
Voice: Command Sergeant Major Matt Wilson, Sir!
Mason: Are you alone Wilson?
CSM Wilson: Yes sir!
Mason lowers the pistol and opens the door.
CSM Wilson: Permission to speak freely sir.
Mason: Permission granted, what’s going on Matt?
Mason can tell by the look on the face of the young man who has worked his way through the ranks to become his second in command that what he’s about to say can’t be good.
CSM Wilson: It’s your ex-wife Erica, I’m afraid she’s been killed in a car accident.
A stunned Mason just stood there in silence for a few seconds, a flood of emotions racing over him.
Mason: Ho...How did you find that out?
CSM Wilson: A call came through on the landline. I’m so sorry for your loss, sir.
Mason: Who was it from and why didn’t they call my cell?
CSM Wilson: It was a first responder calling from the hospital ER. He said she asked him to call you before she passed. All he had was your name and regiment number but he kept trying until he spoke with someone at Ft. Benning who got him through.
Mason inhaled deeply, the reality of what he was being told had started to sink in.
Mason: I have to get to my kids… I have to… I can’t believe she’s gone.
He walked over and sat down in a chair, resting his elbows on his knees and placing his head in his hands as the scene faded.

Why did I come back? Why now? Why would I just randomly accept a challenge for Open Fight Night seemingly out of the blue rather than make the big surprise return that has Vasco Dias shitting his slacks? The answer is simple.
Heir to the Throne.
I worked my ass off for two years in IWF, going on undefeated streaks that no one before or after has duplicated and the closest I’ve come to the Imperial Title was in the Extinction Event. Heir to the Throne is my chance to get a fast track to a one on one match for the only championship that has eluded me in IWF. I didn’t want the big shocking return. I want to be upfront and my intentions to be crystal clear. You’ve got your dark horses and your frontrunners in the Heir to the Throne discussions but I got news for you, there’s a new pack leader and you’re looking at him.
Wasn’t a damn thing random about me accepting Ryan Shane’s challenge. My actions are always calculated and carefully planned whether the fight is in the ring or the battlefield. I watched the challenges get tossed out and accepted left and right for OFN while some even went unaccepted. Ryan was the ONE specific person I was waiting on to issue a challenge and eventually he did. Me accepting it has nothing to do with Ryan Shane, it’s about the belt he wears that I once held myself.
I don’t want it, I want the points that come with beating the man that holds it.
There was a change in tmy plans however when it was announced that I wouldn’t be facing Ryan in a one on one match up but rather in a tag team bout where he teams with Jayson Matthews and my partner will be Will Fenell. That could work out even better than my original plans because now instead of having the opportunity to defeat one current reigning champion and double my points at OFN I have two to choose from. I can’t work with that.
I also have no doubt I can work well with Will Fenell. We’re both Georgia boys who represented our country, albeit in very different ways, but being an Olympian is certainly a huge honor and I commend you for it Mr. Fenell. I have no doubt in my mind that together we can come out of this match with points. I just want you to be aware that the finish is mine. You’ll still get your 10 points but the big points go to me. You seem content with going after Jayson and his Invictus title at the upcoming PPV and I wish you luck in your quest, so don’t get greedy.
We can go from partners to enemies in a heartbeat if you try to take this from me.
As someone who has held his closest friend in his arms as he took his last breath and then had to step over the bodies of fellow soldiers to carry him to a spot where his remains wouldn’t be blown up my condolences go to you on your recent losses Ryan. Emotional pain last so much longer than physical pain so even after the pain from me dropping you on your head this coming Monday goes away you should probably see a professional about your mental state.
I’ve heard rumors that you simply “don’t care about the Heir to the Throne”, which to that I say, you’re a moron. You’re a two time Man of Steel Champion, the only man to do that. There’s no denying you’re talented. Winning the Man of Steel is a great accomplishment once much less twice and being MoS is something I’m very proud to say I was able to do as well. To disregard a chance to fight for the Imperial title by working your way through the HTTT is far more of a waste than Devlin Raine cashing in his Joker in the Pack for the Man of Steel Title though. You’re just a lazy fuck who doesn’t want to work as hard as it takes to get what you want. You’re an entitled brat who thinks the world owes him something. I owe you an ass kicking just for being obnoxious and I’m gonna give it to you at OFN.
And if by chance I don’t get you this week, sometime between now and the end of the HTTT I’m going to.
My first match at an IWF PPV back at October Revolution 2013 saw me get my hand raised after dropping Eddie Black on the back of his head which was a very common occurrence my first few months here. Fun fact though is that another man was a participant in that match, Jayson Matthews. Do you remember that Jayson? The three of us did such a good job hyping that match that we got promoted from the Pre-show to the Main Card. Since then you’ve had ups and downs that are well documented but along the way you’ve, like your partner this week, got that tag as a “the first ever” and in your case it’s a three time Invictus Champion. That’s very impressive and after being in the ring with you all those years ago I’m not surprised.
Something you you shouldn’t be surprised by either is just like the first time we shared a ring I’m going to be victorious. The best strategy for you, because you’re going to lose and that’s a fact, is to let Ryan get knocked out or submitted. You don’t gain any points but you don’t lose any either. It’s the best case scenario for you because should you not take my advice I will not hesitate to bring you crashing down on top of your head and you will not get up. No one likes Ryan Shane, just let your slimeball partner take the loss and you can stay out of the negative. You’re not my target so don’t do anything you think is heroic to become it.
I’m the only hero here.
This is a warning for everyone who thinks they have a shot at Heir to the Throne. I don’t care if you came in second a year ago like Dre Cutler and think this is your year, or if you think you have strength in numbers like the boys in The Council. This is mine. Tune in Monday to see how it begins cause it’s gonna end the exact same way.
