Todd Williams; bro, take a step back and look in the mirror, and ask yourself the following: "am I fully aware of the mistakes I am making, over and over?"
Your first mistake, at Bloody Assizes, was letting my name enter your brain, and exit your mouth.
Yes, it was mistake number one, but I let it go. I ignored it, because honestly, you and I have already danced inside the ring many times and it's borderline predictable at this point. And secondly, I believe mistakes have led to many problems for people throughout the years. I'm forgiving, I guess you could say, so I let it pass -- hoping you'd realize you made a mistake and move on with your day.
Your second mistake -- well, it's unforgivable. I made an open challenge for Open Fight Night, and you were quick to accept it. And not only did you accept it, but you continued the same theme you introduced at Bloody Assizes. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, you're taking baby jabs at my character, and what I stand for as an individual.
In my head, Todd, you're making this about race. See, you and I share the same skin color, but I think you have an issue with me refusing to utilize the platform we have to orchestrate change in the world. First and foremost, I'm not a radical, nor am I am activist -- there are people fighting for the rights of African-Americans on a daily basis. It's not a fight that screams for Dre Cutler. Secondly, I've dealt with racism on a personal and professional level my entire life, as I'm sure you and many other individuals of color, have as well. I simply choose to drown it out; and bury it deep inside and only acknowledge it as motivation to continue to march forward and prove everyone wrong.
I'm not fake. I'm not a fraud.
I'm a professional wrestler, signed to a top-notch organization, and my goal is singular: to be the very best wrestler in the history of the sport.
I'm not a reincarnated Martin Luther King, Jr.
But it's funny, Todd, you want to come at me, insinuating I'm a fraud.
You're a black man, taking too much pride in England, and playing drums for a rock band.
Where's your connection to the black culture, Todd?
I think the issue here, honestly, is you're seeking attention. You and I, as I've said, we've danced -- a few times, actually -- and the result is consistently the same. I have nothing to gain from this match, other than the obvious -- it inches me closer to my goal of being the last man standing at the end of the Heir to the Throne tournament. You, on the other hand, while you also have that goal, I'm sure, you're also hoping to build some confidence within that head of yours. I'm a man you consistently fail to get past, so you figured, let's try again.
Well, here I am.
And I'm as ready as I've ever been, Todd.
My career isn't centered around race. I'm not doing this for the black people. I'm not doing this for the rights many of us feel we do not have. I'm doing it for me, as an individual, with a strong dream and desire to prove everyone wrong. We all have doubters, Todd, regardless of our backgrounds or skin color. I'm not racially motivated; but I'm not against adding to the black-on-black violence rate this week, man.
You want to eat a fist, or a boot, feel free.
And once all is said and done, and I've said what I've had to say, including a HEY thrown in for good measure, I'll be the man standing victorious. With the points, and the confidence moving forward.
And perhaps, just maybe, you'll finally have the realization that Todd Williams isn't Dre Cutler.
And thank fucking God for that.
See you in the ring.
