Gloves are off.. - 7th July 2017
Lineage was quite possibly my toughest test to date as Shieldmaiden champion, and I include my previous āreignā in that too. Going up against my best friend, my shield sister, Astrid Hallā¦.was tough, it was really hard. I genuinely feel that lady luck was on my side that night, and itās the only reason Iām holding this belt and Astrid is not. For what itās worth Astrid? I totally tip my cap to you, because that was one HELL of a match, and Iām proud to have just been a part of it.
But onwards we must march.
On the same night we found out who would be earning the next shot at the shieldmaiden, and letās be honest here? Most people probably had their money on Fiona rather than Kate. But āmy girlā certainly pulled the rabbit out of the bag, right?
Amazing how she manages to do that.
Once a month or so.
Oooh, meow, right?
I tried to be your friend Kate. Even after your hubby all but kicked me out of your house, I still tried to be there for you. I tried to help you train, but you threw it all back in my face. Like I was nothing, like I wasnāt worthy of being around the āoriginal sirenā nahā¦..Iām just the one you turn to when everything falls apart, right? Iām the one you come crying to when youāve had the worst losing streak ever, or when you need a pick me up to move forward in your career.
Never to actually spend time with me.
Never to congratulate me for MY victories.
Just threats, and false promises. Though I guess last week you really revealed who truly are Kate Steele. A friend to noone, just a jealous, bitter, angry, little bitch.
Oh, yeah, the gloves are off.

It had been a tough few weeks for Shea OāHara, mainly going up against Astrid Hall - that took a lot out of her both spiritually, and physically. Sure, Shea walked out the victor, but it was anything but an easy win. In her heart, she knew the match could have easily gone the other way, and despite being happy that theyād put on one hell of a show, it was going to take some time to recover.
Luckily, the Shieldmaiden champion had the week off.
Will: Yāknow I was expecting snow.
We open up on Will Fenell and Shea OāHara sitting at a cafe in Moscow, Russia.
Shea: Yeah, Iām not gonna lie, Iām right there with ya.
The two of them are sat outside, at a small metal table. Will has a black coffee in front of him, and Shea has some ridiculous over the top fancy latte, holding it in both hands, with a huge smile on her face.
Shea: But itās nice to have a little break. This tour has been great, but hard work.
Will: Well aināt dat the truth. Girl you been throwinā out dem matches like a pro.
Shea blushes a little but her smile grows wider, even if she does try to hide it behind her cup. Will leans back, taking in the view.
Shea: Itās not just me, the other girls have really stepped up their game. Especially Astrid, man that was seriously hard workā¦.but fun!
Around them without them even knowing a small group of people have started to gather, a rough collection of outcast looking stereotypes. Some donning rock t-shirts and hoodies, and one of them wearing a āSpike Kane - InFamousā cap, while the other wears a āRob Diamond - InFamousā cap too, Will notices the group.
Will: Oh hey, looks like weāve drawn a crowd.
Shea looks up and sees the crowd of locals, theyāre clearly a bit too shy to approach the couple. She starts to get to her feet, but Will gets up first and turns to the crowd, his arms up and a cokcy grin on his face.
Will: Ok yāall. Iāll sign yoā shit for you if you leave us be after?
The girl at the front of the group, looks at Will with confusion, before side stepping him and holding out an IWF Magazine with Shea OāHara on the cover, and a pen.
Russian Girl: Mozhno vash avtograf?
Shea laughs out loud as she nods her head and the entire group move towards her, while she begins to sign their things. Will shakes his head, laughing.
Will: Now datās cold!
Russian Girl: Spasibo!
Shea is full of smiles and happiness as she starts throwing out hugs and cuddles to the group, before Will steps away a little, pulling out his phone.
Will: Yāall group tagether, Iām gonna upload dis shit.
He snaps a picture of the group, with Shea smack bang in the middle, the group throw out a mix of smiles, devil horns, peace signs, and even a too sweet. After the picture the lead girl turns to Shea.
Russian Girl: Please, you be beating the Kate Steele!
Shea: Oh donāt worry honey, Iām planning on it!
The small group all give their thanks to both Shea, and Will before they leave, leaving Shea and Will alone with their drinks.
Shea: That was nice.
Will: Yeahā¦.I guess, for you! Ha! Yāknow what? We in Russian, right? āBout time we had some vodka!
At the sounds of him shouting vodka, the waiter behind the bar instantly grabs a bottle and brings it out to them, causing Shea to burst out laughing, and we fade away on the happy couple.

Swan Song - 13th July, 2017
I was always warned down in developmental, that friends are very hard to find in this business. Now, I donāt mean people you can hang out with, celebrate a great show, maybeIt have a drink, or even go to a concert. No, I mean real friends. People you can rely on to be there when youāre beaten and broken, people who donāt use you to try and elevate themselves. People who donāt care what your position on the card is, they just want to hang out with YOU the person, not who you are on TV.
I learned that Kate Steele is not one of those people.
When Eternity broke my arm? You never cared Kateā¦.you just saw it as someone who wouldnāt be there to challenge you, someone else who couldnāt steal your limelight. The thing is? You didnāt do anything, you hovered around like a bad smell and just kept shouting louder and louder, hoping that someone would hear you, instead? You faded into the background. Then Fiona decided all of a sudden she was going to make an album - using her fame to push her to the front of the queue - when millions of people around the world struggle to even get studio time, but thatās a whole other kettle of fish. YOU decided that she was stealing your schtick, and decided to show your face.
Must have been that time of the month.
Oh donāt worry, itās a running joke. Iāve got you saved in my phone now as āTampax Kateā because youāre only good for one week a month, the rest of the time, youāre useless.
**insert Burn meme here**
Oh no she di-ent!
I finally got to see who you really are Kate, and thatās one selfish little bitch. You donāt care about anyone around you, youāre only out for numero uno, and howās that working out for you sugar? I bet itās fun down there in jobberville with no friends. See me? Iāve made some enemies, trust me Rowan MacDonnough would crush my skull given half the chance! Iām almost certain that Eternity is waiting in the wings somewhere, just waiting for a chance to put me out again. Yet, Iāve befriended the likes of Pandora Freeman, and Astrid Hall. Two women who wear their hearts on their sleeves, and Iād do almost anything for them.
That is what being a friend means.
Not leeching off of their success.
Not trying to weasel your way into a championship match.
But hey, I guess this time you āearned itā right? At least thatās what youāll tell yourself, and hey, who am I to say otherwise? Just your reigning, defending, Shieldmaiden champion. Iāve taken on some pretty damn mighty challenges since coming back, Iāve beaten Astrid Hall - literally a shield wall in and of herself, Iāve beaten Rowan and handed her - her first actual defeat, not to mention crushing that rich bitch Lizzy Dalmon. The point Iām trying to make Kateykins, is that Iāve been here, working, putting in the time, and effort to make myself better. Now youāre back, ready to try and take what Iāve worked so hard for away from meā¦..do you really think itās going to be that easy Kate?
Yeah, youāve done it before - the great friend that you are.
The thing is? The Shea OāHara you fought back then was completely different to the one standing before you now. Back then, I was green, I doubted myself, and I never thought my so-called ābest friendā would want to take the title from me so badly. I learned a lot that day, a lot about you, and a lot about who I need to be. I spent time working on that, honing my craft, and then I came back better than I was before. I know a lot of people say that, but I proved it. Iāve proven myself against the toughest there is in our divisionā¦..and now Kate?
You donāt stand a snowball's chance in hell of taking this championship away from me.
We used to be friends, at least to me we where, and Iāll always look at that time with an amount of fondness, fondness that youāve now taintedā¦.but stillā¦.that was then, and this is now. Weāre going to be on opposite sides of the ring once again, and this time I wonāt underestimate you, I wonāt take what we shared for granted. Iāve learned how to fight my friends, and how to combat my enemiesā¦.Iāve come a long way Kate, can you say the same?
Maybe, just maybe, you should just stop talking, and stick to singing.
Thatās the only time youāre not talking total bullshit anyway.
See you in the ring Kate. Where Iāll show you first hand why Iām a better shieldmaiden than I was before, and than you could ever be, consider it your very own Swan Song.
