A few weeks ago at Lineage, the man formerly known as Zasshu, Akihiro Nakamura took on the reigning Man of Steel Champion in a fairly one sided match. Ryan Shane left the Man of Steel cage that night still Man of Steel Champion, however he also left the former Zasshu with his first major injury in his IWF career.
We can now confirm that not only was Akihiro Nakamura injured but that it was his right knee that seems to be the source of the injury. The severity of the injury is not yet known, nor how much time Akihiro Nakamura is going to miss, however one can speculate that he will be looking to course correct the clear downward spiral his IWF career has taken since parting ways with the House of Howlett.
When we reached out for comment the only thing Akihiro Nakamura had to say was-
"Fear the Future."
Ominous words for a man who was once touted as the future of the IWF.
