24th October, 2017- Our Actions.
I get labelled as so many things in today's day and age, especially working here in America as a foreigner. A redheaded foreigner no less, and of course, a woman. I've been called a “libtard” a “snowflake” heck I've even been called a “sympathiser to the cause” - which in case you don't know your Irish history, means supporting the terrorist organisation known as the I.R.A. Well, as proud as I am of my heritage, my home, and my people, that's just not true.
I've been called a princess, a girl stuck in a fairy tale, a fraud, but do you know what? One thing I have never been called…
Is a coward.
Y’see, I don't back down from threats, even when every bone in my body is screaming at me to take the flight option rather than the fight one. I don't stand back and watch my friends get hurt because a pack of wild animals cannot get the job done without a heck of a lot of help. I'm not the kind of person who can sit back for so long and let these things happen…. and Maxine Valentine realised this at Sacrifice.
It wasn't about the Shield Maiden, and it had nothing to do with October Revolution. That was purely because you saw fit to try and break my shield sister, and that…. Oh, that just won't stand. It's kinda funny, in a way, because it's very reminiscent of when your.. Leader, or whatever the heck she is, saw fit to punish me by hurting Astrid before our match for the Shield Maiden Championship.
Do you wanna remind everyone how that ended?
Rowan MacDonough picked up her first ever pinfall loss.
So please, Mad Max, tell me what could possibly have gone through your head to make you think that it was a good idea? Is it because you have Dean? Relying on a man to carry you through? Cause I don't have a problem with kicking his teeth down his throat if he steps foot in the ring at October Revolution….. Though, I imagine he's going to be pretty preoccupied with trying to lure Brooklyn into his rape van, as well as preparing for the Man of Steel himself Devlin Raine.
You and me though?
We're going to get in that ring and settle this once and for all. I'm going to start showing The Pack why they need to back the heck off. Show them that they don't run IWF, that we aren't afraid of you, that we can stand up for ourselves, that we can fight….
After all…
This girl burns brighter in the spotlight.
We rejoin Shea O’Hara and The Doctor as they leave the arena we had previously seen them in. As Shea steps out of the doors, the first thing she notices is that they sky is just…..wrong. Where once there would have been a blue sky, with perhaps some clouds about, and the sun poking through….now there is just a dark purple sky and a torrent of storm clouds with all sorts of hues of purple too. Shea stands there, mouth agape as she looks up, The Doctor comes out behind her and takes a quick look up, gulping as he does.
The Doctor: Wow...umm, ok. That? That’s not good.
Shea: Not good!? THE SKY IS PURPLE!
Shea rounds on him, arms outstretched behind her, making a gesture towards the sky. The Doctor makes a “not bad” face, and shrugs.
The Doctor: I mean it could be worse. At least it’s not green.
Shea: Why? What does a green sky mean?
The Doctor: Well it-y’know what? It doesn’t matter. The sky is purple, and that means we either have very little time, or we’re too late.
Shea: Too late for what exactly?
The Doctor bends down once more, and picks yet another Pack flier off of the floor, perusing it, and cocking his head as he does.
The Doctor: To stop this.
In the distance a loud roar can be heard, and both Shea and The Doctor turn to look in the direction. The sound of a crowd, cheering, or at least shouting, from what looks like some kind of make shift dome. The Doctor made eye contact with Shea.
Shea: We’re going towards the noise aren’t we?
The Doctor: Toward the noise! Allons-y!
The Doctor reached over and grabbed Shea by the arm as they rushed towards the sound, somehow, someway things seemed to get darker here. The street lamps were on, but they all glowed a strange orange. As they got closer the roar of the crowd grew louder. The snuck under some of the makeshift seats and began to snoop.
Shea: Holy frick! That’s Maxine Valentine!
In the middle of this arena of sorts, stood Max, donning some scavenged armour bits on her torso, knees, and right shoulder. Her mask now had spike’s coming off of it, and her face was covered in war paint. At her feet lay a man begging for a reprieve, but Max looked down, and from the arch of her eyebrows you could tell she was smiling. The Doctor, however, noticed a room behind Max, a door, that went downwards.
Shea: We have to stop her!
The Doctor: We can’t. They’ll tear us to shreds.
Shea: But you’re The Doctor! You save people, it’s what you do!
The Doctor: I do what I can, when I can…..if we go out there, I don’t think we’ll make it back out, and we need to. We need to stop the Abyss.
Shea looked at him with a look that could scold the toughest of men. She stood up, and fixed her clothing.
Shea: Fine. Then I’LL stop her!
The Doctor: Wait, what!? Wait!
He reached for her, but she had already stepped out from under the seats and was heading into the middle of the arena, sand scuffing at her feet. The crowd died down as Max turned to look at her. The Doctor, frustrated and pulling a face that would say “for crying out loud” tried to keep himself concealed, for now.
Shea: Why don’t you leave him alone…..fight me instead Maxine…
The crowd are so stunned that they don’t notice The Doctor sneaking through underneath all their seats.
Maxine: Oh, Shea O’Hara!? It’s been so long since you ran away. NOW you come to fight? When all others have fallen? …...I guess every one has to fall at some point! ARM HER!
She shouts to one of her minions near her, and they throw a spear at Shea, she fumbles a bit, but catches it, and out of the corner of her eye, she notices The Doctor pulling the man to safety, and heading towards the door. He looks back once more at her, grits his teeth, and then heads through the door.
Shea: Let’s do this!
The two women charge towards each other as the crowd erupt with such a violent sounding roar, and we fade, just before they connect with each other.

29th October 2017- Take it.
Many women have tried to take this championship from me Mad Max. From the likes of our Diamonds Champion Rowan MacDonough, to my best friend, my shield sister, Astrid Hall. From former friends like Kate Steele, to rising stars like NAME. Though some might have come closer than others, the fact still remains that they all failed. That my quest as the shield maiden to hold up this division with integrity, honesty, and most of…. as a role model to the kids around the world.
So what makes you so different?
I mean you're a big girl, there's no denying that. It's pretty clear that I'm not going to be winning any tests of strength with you. But what do you have that Rowan didn't? What do you have that Astrid didn't? Similar styles, in a way, at least…. But you, you're more raw, more visceral, more meaningful in the pain you inflict, rather than the damage you do. You'd rather a match was over quickly and your opponent writhing in pain… and hey!
I've seen it happen.
Yet, the longer the match goes on? The more it swings in my favour. You're just not used to it Max, not cut out for a lengthy match. You don't have the cardio, or the resiliency. You remind me of that one Nic Cage movie… Gone in 60 seconds…
I can go for hours if I need to. I train twice as hard as anyone else, just to prove I belong here. I've pushed myself further than any opponent could ever push me, because at the end of the day? I'm my own worst critic. I punished myself when I lost to Eternity and she broke my arm, I suffered for a long time. Yet, it was me who got myself out of that flunk, pushed myself to go back to training and work so much harder to get back to where I belonged. I dethroned Eternity, and I thought I was done. Goal complete, achievement unlocked, bleep bloop - but it was only just the start!
I hold myself to the standards of the shield maiden.
I push myself to live up to that legacy, of those who came before me, and erase my past mistakes and joke of a title reign. Can you say the same Max? Could you possibly hold yourself to those standards, or will you make a mockery out of what this championship means? Perhaps Rowan is getting worried that my reign is beginning to outshine hers, and so she's sent you to tarnish this championship?
I wouldn't put it past her.
Perhaps you're tired of looking at that shiny belt around her waist, knowing you'll never get it, so instead you've come for mine. Well honey, I'm nobodies second best, and I sure as shit ain't nobodies second choice. I am, the God damn IWF Shield Maiden, and I have defended this belt with honour more times than you've probably even had matches. I respect this belt, I respect this division and I respect each and every opponent who tries to take it from me, because in doing so they are living up to the legacy…. But not you Max. Not like this….
Not like this.
You're a bully, a monster, Mad Max let off her leash, and I'm the one who has to stop you. I'm the resident monster Hunter, dragon slayer, heroine of IWF. So it falls to me, and i take it with pride, because when we get in that ring Max? The Shield Maiden championship will be on the line, and if you haven't seen how hard I will fight to keep it? Then you haven't been paying attention.
My name is Shea O’Hara.
I am the IWF Shield Maiden.
And it's time to put Mad Max back in her cage.
