Centralia, Pennsylvania.
Maxine stayed crouched at the small stream, looking at what was left of Rowan's tracks, gazing across the water, down the water and up the water breathing soft as her breath misted on the air. Caleb was looking through binoculars even as Max Sighed and muttered.
"What is it Max?"
She took a moment to look at the foot prints that seemed to disappear taking a moment to lift as she muttered.
"Looks like she got on a boat or canoe or something there’s no foot prints on the other side and given the speed of this? She's what? Nearly 5 hours head start on us."
Max looked at Caleb and said softly, a little upset.
"Bring them back in, we're not finding her unless she wants us to."
Dean wasn’t happy at the news, pacing even as he threw something, pulling a bit at his hair as he paced forwards and backwards.
"Dean."
Maxine’s voice started soft at fist even as Dean was muttering soft, little questions to himself trying to figure out where Rowan was going looking more and more upset even as Max said a little harder.
"DEAN"
A hand lay on his shoulder and he jumped out of himself and stared at her, eyes wide even as he asked hopeful.
"Did you...?"
Max shook her head, and watching Dean's heart break again felt like her spine snapping all over again.
It made Max angry, even as Max said softly, urgently.
"Dean? Dean look at me."
He wasn't looking as Max put a hand under his chin and spoke a little harder again.
"Look at me."
Dean's eyes looked at her, through her even as Max spoke firmly and comforting as she pulled him close again and she felt him relax just for a moment.
"We have to pull together Dean, don't do this we need you, I need you."
Dean pushed off Max a bit and muttered.
"She'd still be here if you did your job. You said you could find her."
Max's face twitched and fell and Dean paused as he realised what he said even as Max started to move for the exit.
"No, wait Max I didn't."
The door slammed even as Max flexed a hand with a fire in her eyes, she gave a whistle and pointed at Caleb and pointed for a simple podium that hadn't seen anyone else stand in it since just before Rowan left.
Nobody else but Dean or Rowan had spoken here.
Her fingers wrapped around the megaphone and Dean inched out, barely seen by the time her voice echoed across the misty silence.
"Packmates! Brothers! Sisters! Friends."
A pause and a breath, emotion barely hidden in her voice before she doubles down and looks up again.
"By now it's no secret, and we've never lied so here I stand to say that Our lady has left us, or at least the form you know her has, she believed her presence here would bring us all harm and so she left in the night and I don't know where she is. "
She nodded.
"That's ok, her body and form may be gone, but we stand here in spirit untied as one as a family. The pack survives, she brought us together and made us a family, she had faith in every single one of us. She spoke to us in our own way and I know the last thing she would want is for us fall apart. But I say now if you feel you can't stay? We won't stop you from leaving, and we will not forget you, any of you because that was our promise, to all of you."
She nods.
"We wrote our names on that wall on first street as a testament to our family; to our promise to each other and I promise all of you we will -keep- this Pack Running but we need everyone's help because there are those outside who see this a victory, those people who have stood upon us our entire lives? Told us we were NEVER good enough? They see this as a victory when really they have wounded us, they have hurt us..."
A long pause.
"But the pack survives."
Max nodded.
"There will be time for vengeance, time for justice and time for a proper settling of things but for now? We must pull together as we always have, if anyone has any doubts? If anyone has any questions seek me out. And allow me to show you and help you."
Max nodded and put the megaphone down after a soft.
"Thank you."
It was later in the day that Max was staring at the very wall, fingertips tracing over the names, lips twitching as she cried, cried harder than she'd ever cried as a child, cried like she'd lost part of her soul, part of herself then nodded and muttered to herself fingers settling on her own name.
"The Pack Survives."

Max felt a pair of armsaround her and she slowly turned into Dean and there was a moment they looked at each other and Dean said wit ha light smirk.
"It was a good speech"
Max nodded, wiping at her eyes with a slight smirk and a sniffle.
"Somebody needed to make it."
Dean started to open his mouth and Max put her fingers on his lips.
"I understand, don't. Just Don't you're angry, so am I, we're all angry."
Dean asked with a smirk.
"Is that why you're so calm?"
MAxpaused and let Dean look inot her eyes the silence between them drawing as Dean started to seejust how Angry Max actually was and he muttered gently.
"Ok.."
They held each other a while even as the fires burned.
