Cable Arcane, fresh off HonorBound’s tie with Keeton/Jones comes storming backstage and into the locker room. In a very uncharacteristic show of frustration, Cable tosses over one of the tables in the locker room, several of the other wrestlers back off before Cable turns and glares at them all. Slowly the room clears out as Cable gently smacks his head against one of the lockers and bangs the bottom of his fist into it.
”So close!”
He bangs his fist again.
”Are you ready to listen to me now?”
Cable quickly turns around to see Amber standing behind him, her characteristic smirk on her face.
”Not tonight, Amber, not tonight please.”
”Cable-“
”NO! I’m tired of hearing it Amber!”
Cable brushes past her but she isn’t having it anymore either. She spins around and grabs him by the shoulder and twists him around. Cable comes face to face with her just as her right hand comes flush against his cheek.
”LISTEN GODDAMMIT!”
Cable glares at her coldly for several long seconds before he thrusts forward, clutching her by the hair on the back of her head and passionately kissing her. Amber pushes him back.
”You son of a-“
And then she twists him around and slams him up against the locker, her lips pressed hard against his, her tongue buried deep in his mouth. Cable reaches up with both hands and literally rips her top open, exposing her black sports bra beneath. Cable’s hand gently brush over the top of her chest as she moans and he moves down to kiss the side of her neck, slowly working his way to her clavicle. Cable’s hands move down and out of sight as Amber seems the shuffle her hips. He grabs her and picks her up, both her legs wrapping around his sides. Everything naughty is out of frame but it’s clear what’s happening as we slowly fade out on them…
When we fade back in, Cable and Amber are wrapped up in each other in a hotel bed, their moment of passion lasting into the following morning. She smiles wide as Cable just looks her in the eyes.
”Last night, you were going to tell me something…”
Her smile only widens as she suddenly pushes Cable onto his back and sits on top of him, the sheet covering just enough to give you an idea of her amazing body beneath. She bends down now, adjusting for something as Cable moans.
”I was going to tell you it’s time to take what you want…”
She gently bites his ear.
”But you already have.”
Cable wraps his arms around and throws her onto her back, getting on top of her now he kisses her deeply again, passionately and our scene fades out once more…
I’ve tried to be respectful of the ones who’ve come before me. I’ve tried to show the proper respect for the people who would be considered above me. I’ve shaken their hands, smiled to their faces and every step of the way they’ve spit in mine…
Maybe it’s my mistake for thinking this world can be changed. Maybe I’ve made a grave error in thinking one man can stand up as a shining example of what this sport is supposed to be about. Perhaps I’ve put too much faith in the common man. It’s clear this sport is over run by corruption and complacency and perhaps I’m out of line to think Gjenrei and I can make a different…
I tried to give Jake Keeton a chance to enter this match and give us a fair fight. I offered his opportunity to show this world exactly what he’s made of, and he did. His ego and own sense of self worth shown more brightly than on any night before when he put aside his honor and respect for himself and tried to take my head off…
Then there’s the complacency of Alex Jones, a man seeking redemption like myself who is all too willing to stand back and watch as his partner steals them victory after victory after victory…
Gjenrei and I fought for this shot with everything we had, we did it the right way. We earned our stripes, proved ourselves against some of the best this tag team division has to offer and truly we are the last team standing with out heads held high. However there is another team standing with us, one who doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the ring when we enter it to take on the tag team champions…
Alex Jones and Jake Keeton, two men who for me now represent everything I’ve come to hate about professional wrestling. There was a time I looked at this world very differently, through rose tinted glasses I built myself up to be something other than I was. Like Jake Keeton I believed myself to be god’s gift to wrestling, like Alex Jones I put victories and glory about self worth. Those ideals, that attitude lead me to a very dark place. A place I have been fighting my way out of for months…
Now we stand here today, Gjenrei and I, two men who have EARNED this opportunity and we have to share it with the likes of you…
The both of you disgust me. I tried to give you credit where it was due, Alex Jones, but you showed me and everyone else your true colors when you watched Jake Keeton snake his way into our match, into our title opportunity. This road you walk isn’t about redemption for your many sins, it’s simply another gimmick for you, another mask to wear over the immature face of a sad little man…
I hope you rot in hell someday Alex…
As for you Keeton, you think you know me? You think you have the slightest idea of where I’ve come from, what I’ve had to do to be here? All you know about me is what you learned in RPW. You know nothing of my road to IWF. You know nothing of the hell Angel put me through to be here today, standing side by side with my brother in arms, ready to go to war for a prize more coveted to us than the Imperial Championship…
You know nothing of this Cable Arcane.
Monday night I played Mr. Nice Guy, I played the Good Man. I tried to do everything the right way to assure ourselves a title shot but Alex and Jake didn’t want to play like that. They are not concerned with doing things the right way. For them the victory is all the matters, the outcome, not holding their pride and honor intact come the end of the match. For that I feel sorry for you, but Gjenrei and I, as respectful as we are…
Are not afraid to fight fire with fire…
There was a time, Jake, when I’d take a man like you, someone who stood in-between me and what I wanted and I would literally burn his life to the ground around. There was a time I would do something like that with a smile plastered across my face…
I promised change. I promised that HonorBound would usher in a new age of champions in IWF, ones who would represent this company with pride, honor and respect. Champions who would help to usher in a new age of professional wrestling where the derelict old champions of years gone past would be forced out to pasture. I promised it would start with HonorBound claiming the tag team titles as our own, and it will…
But not before we put Jake Keeton out for good.
As for our dear, sweet champions. I’ve heard your pitiful threats of what you’re capable of doing as if everyone doesn’t already know. You’ve spent the first three months of IWF reminding us all, week in and week out exactly what you’re capable of, but let me ask you…
What have you done lately?
You’ve won matches when it matters, you’ve managed to keep your streak alive but what careers have you ended? What nightmares have you made real? What have you done for Gjenrei and I to fear you? Truth be told, it is the two of you who should fear us. We are the unknown factor in this match. You’ve only come across us once before in a match where talent and skill mattered less than pure luck.
And you were lucky that night…
Now you’re faced with us in a match where you will have to put us down and beat us. There won’t be a ladder to climb while everyone is distracted to claim your gold. There won’t be a partner, ready, willing and able to turn his back on his partner. There won’t be an easy way for you to win this match because Gjenrei and I will match you move for move, turn for turn…
Anything you can do, we can do better…
Spike Kane, the God of Xtreme, a man who garners the attention of millions wherever he goes. A man renowned for his ego and ability to turn on his friends and family at the drop of a dime. I’m not going to accuse you of partnering with Rob only long enough to assure your own spot near the top of this company, I’m just pointing out that that’s what you’ve done before…
As for Rob Diamond, a man whose closest friend has and will always be a puppet, a man who tries so hard to garner our sympathy for him before he gives us every reason in the world to hate him. Just admit it Rob, you’re afraid of what happens the moment you lose those belts. You cling to them and to Spike so hard because you know, just like in the promotion you came from that once InFamous is done you will go back to being nothing. Perhaps a place holder as Imperial Champion before Spike comes to claim the prize like Steve Awesome before him…
I actually find it funny that both of our opponents, the champions and challengers have so much in common. Two egos the size of asia teamed up with two whimpering little ants just begging us to forgive them…
It’s funny, really…
Meanwhile you have HonorBound, Gjenrei and I. The only real team left. The only real brotherhood. While you four pretend to hold things together long enough to rip yourselves apart, Gjenrei and I would literally die for each and for what we stand for. And what we stand for is a new age in professional wrestling…
An age where men like you, whimpering, egotistical brats are scorned and shunned, stoned and quartered until you have no choice but the wither away and die because no one wants you, no one cares for you and no one will respect you…
Your time at the top is drawing to a close, there is only so long the old guard of a dead promotion can hold on to the prize and you’re quickly running out of time. We have no fear of you, no reason to even consider the idea of it because Gjenrei and I have nothing to lose. We don’t have awe inspiring legacies or families to convince we care. All we have is each other, we are our family and all this family wants is to become the single best tag team in the world. All this family wants is to see what’s left of ncw and the egos that drove it burn before our eyes as a new sun rises…
Consider Sunday the Final Eulogy for who you are and where you came from because come Monday morning there will only be one word on the minds and lips of the millions of people watching at home…
HonorBound…
There will be No Mercy.
Cable stands alone in the bathroom in a pair of black shorts, just outside the door is Amber, wearing nothing more than an oversized black t-shirt. She plays with her hair as she leans on the frame, looking at Cable.
”Cable, there’s something I have to tell you… Something about Gjenrei you should know.”
He looks up into the mirror at her reflection as our scene fades to black for the final time.
”So close!”
He bangs his fist again.
”Are you ready to listen to me now?”
Cable quickly turns around to see Amber standing behind him, her characteristic smirk on her face.
”Not tonight, Amber, not tonight please.”
