FREDERICKSBURG, Texas - For eight years, Jack Gaither has wowed audiences all over the world, winning championships in every organization he has competed in, including the IWF.
Now the 35-year-old former star is fighting a different battle outside the ring.
This morning, it was confirmed by a joint partnership between IWF.com, The Wrestling Insider magazine, and the Associated Press that the retired former wrestling champion is battling an aggressive brain tumor. According to a copy of a report sent to us by Mr. Gaither himself, he had three of them in his brain, and that after continuous treatments over the course of a year, two of the three tumors near his cerebellum area were eradicated and didn't pose a threat.
The third, described as being the size of a small penny, was sadly diagnosed as inoperable, an aggressive one that would eventually become cancerous over the course of time.
But according to a recent Twitter post from Mr. Gaither himself, he vows to continue on living out his life in spite of the condition. A noted amateur chef that specializes in Southern-style cooking, Jack will be planning a special holiday meal on December 25th to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as the 15th birthday of Sarah Dawkins, a young folkstyle wrestler currently being trained by him and his wife, IWF Diamond Fiona McFly.
