{Seth breaks the nearly match ending Cobra Clutch and tries to pull Blade to his feet but Ryan grabs his trunks and pulls him down causing Seth's throat to snap across the ropes.}
I felt myself stumble forward and my neck connecting with the ropes, knocking out and preventing the oxygen from entering my body... My limp body was hardly holding up against the ropes. I remember looking out to see a section of the crowd watching me, shocked, that I wasn't able to fully capitalize on the situation that I was in and my hands rushing to my own throat, hoping to settle it quick enough to recover.
{After shaking off the affects to the submission attempt the champion latches on to the head of Evans who was clutching his throat. Blade uses the headlock to move Evans away from the ropes and applies The Choke Job in the center of the ring, wrenching back with his forearm digging into the already hurting windpipe of his opponent.}
Feeling my opponent bringing his arm around my neck, I knew what he was trying to attempt --- I had little energy, nowhere near enough to be able to fight back. Not enough oxygen to allow myself to have a quick enough reaction. My eyes remained forward toward the crowd, where I saw a number of them looking at me with shame... But there was still one that stood on his chair to be able to peer over the gentleman that stood in front of him. I saw something else in that little boy's eyes...
I saw hope.
I felt my body being pulled backward, my wise opponent proving why he is the Man of Steel Champion, dragging me far enough from the ropes that my feet would not be able to touch and my upper body in the middle of the ring so there was no chance that my arms would be able to get to the ropes... thee was only one chance I had. That chance was to not give up. The look on that boy's face raced through my mind, and I cringed at the thought of letting him down.
{Seth struggles with his hands in proper position to defend the submission but Blade tightens up and Evans grits his teeth and closes his eyes trying his best to resist the urge to tap out.}
My hand started to shake with my mind contemplating what was my reality --- there was no chance of getting out of this. I opened my eyes one more time to see the lights and I was only able to see them for a brief moment before everything started to fade away... It wasn't a smart choice, but my mind still focused on that little boy who was hoping for a miracle, and I knew that there was no option.
Giving up...
Was not an option.
My heart could not quit, but my body was not as lucky. Everything went black.
The scene opens up inside of a local Miami restaurant... Green tinted lights lit the room, pictures and trophies hung on the wall of a number of sea critters. The place was packed as the time was drawing toward the end of the afternoon, and the start of supper for many people... Seth and Kiela sat in one of the booth; Kiela was glancing down at the table which was decorated by a map of the Florida Keys. Seth sipped from a green cup that matched the atmosphere of the restaurant while his eyes laid upon the love of his life that sat in front of him.
Kiela:
"Well..."
Kiela broke the silence and Seth sat his cup down on the table, opening the menu but not looking down to read it just yet.
Kiela:
"How long do you have to find a new place?"
Seth:
"I don't know for sure --- it might be one month, it might be three or four."
Kiela:
"What happened to the money that you earned from wrestling?"
I smiled at that thought, knowing that there was really no reason that I shouldn't be sitting quite comfortable... I may not have been the most known wrestler, but I was no stranger. On top of that, the world knew me as a Halo professional --- I have allowed Halo to ride the backseat since I threw myself into wrestling. The truth as to where everything I had earned had gone was that I was not a greedy person.
Seth:
"There's something that I haven't told you..."
Her head lifted almost instantly, as if I were about to drop a huge bombshell on her. There were a number of reasons that could cause me to be nearly broke; I could be a junkie, an alcoholic. I could have a gambling problem. It was none of those but she sure stared a hole straight through me as if it were.
Seth:
"We've been together for three years and your whole time with me... all you've known is me. I've never taken you to meet my family. Anyways, I have an older brother. He also lives in the states, but he's not as fortunate as I've been with my life --- but this is the kicker... He has a son. I have a nephew. I've never met him before but I can tell you that I love him as if he were my own, because he is blood and that's why, you know I'm not greedy, I send them a lot of the money that I earn... so they can give my nephew a good life, and I don't have to be concerned about whether they have a roof over his head or food in his stomach. I do help other family members out as much as I can. I've only kept enough with me to keep myself afloat. This is just something that I didn't think would happen just yet --- it wasn't something I worried about."
I twiddled my thumbs on the table for a few moments, allowing Kiela to take the time to let this information settle in. My hand goes to my cup, but I don't lift it right away --- just more of something I do to keep my hands busy in times of distress.
Kiela:
"That's why I love you."
I smiled; those words calmed my mind.
Kiela:
"I love you for everything you do --- you've always put others ahead of yourself, and a lot of people don't know that about you... But you've done it for so long that you're now put in a situation that could be seen as difficult. It's time that you save some of your money and make sure that you... that we... have a home to go home to."
Lowering my head and chuckling under my breath, the first thing that popped in my mind was what I had a chance for this Sunday. At Legacy. A chance to turn everything around.
Seth:
"I have a chance... it's going to be a long shot, but it's better than nothing."
I lift my head to look Kiela directly in the eyes --- she knew who the champions were, and she knew who I've faced in the past, but she paid little mind to the people that were ahead of me. This was the first time she was going to hear about one of my three opponents for this Sunday, and she would probably flip if she heard who one of the other people was that was stepping into the ring... This was the first time she was going to hear about my opportunity.
Seth:
"I have a shot at the Man of Steel title."
Determination...
This is a word that I've often used to describe my mentality every single time that I step into the ring. From the moment that I first enrolled myself into a wrestling school, to this very day; I've been determined by one dream! ...That dream was to be the very best that this industry would ever know!
I've spent six years trying.
Six years failing.
Six years of determination... that that majority of the people would look at, and they would say that it has all been for nothing. I disagree with those people for the reason that every loss I've had to endure, every futile attempt I've made at actually becoming a star in any company that I signed a contract with --- has helped shape me to who I am... And what the world knows me for.
The world knows me as the man who is not willing to give up without a fight. The world knows me as the man that is going to do absolutely everything in my power to make sure that I walk out --- win or loss --- knowing that I gave everything that I possibly could! None of it was for nothing...
After six years in this industry, and only one title to my name which wasn't even a run as a champion, I have one thing to show for all of it.
I'm still standing.
I'm still picking up all the pieces that are left inside of the ring on a weekly basis, and gathering the strength to go forward to my next match and try it all again! And it's all because of the same reason that Joe was able to finally capture the big one; it's because he never gave up... Just as I will never give up. Believe me when I say, that phrase is more to me than just stepping between the ropes.
It's life.
Here's a short story for all of you. When I was first moving to Miami, I didn't have a lot of money to my name --- I had almost nothing to my name... I was still viewed as a rookie in professional wrestling, and thus, I wasn't making a lot of money. All because of one girl, who I am head over heels for, I packed up everything that I had to my name... the little amount of money that I had, and I used just about all of it to move to Miami. Things were hard when I moved; I had to find a way to get to every show that I was scheduled for and just hope to come out of it with a win...
Everybody who steps between those ropes knows that this is a dangerous profession! Injuries are going to occur, and I'm no different from anyone else when it comes to that --- I was injured and put on the sidelines for a while... My future, everything that I dreamed of doing and dreamed of accomplishing! Even the girl of my dreams! Seemed to be slipping away from me.
Failure was not an option. I could not be without her.
I didn't give up.
I found a way to make everything work in Miami, and I still reside there to this day. I'm still with the girl of my dreams to this day.
And do you want to know the last bit? It's a little bit obvious, but I'll go ahead and say it: I'm still marching down to step between those ropes, to this day! There is no injury that I can sustain that will keep me from mustering the strength to step back into that ring and accomplishing everything that I sought out to accomplish... I still walk down to that ring every week because I was told one thing as a child; always go after your dreams.
If you have a dream.
You chase it.
And you turn it into a reality.
It doesn't matter where the chase takes you... I've been halfway around the world just to try to get somewhere with mine, and tomorrow is going to come; and I'm going to be doing the same exact thing. In Detroit. Failure is not an option.
This is what I'm proving to the world, and proving to myself... Proving to everybody who ever told me that I need to give up the dream, and settle into reality. Working a job that I hate just to pay the damn bills, deal with people that show little to no respect just because no one has shown it to them.
I need to prove to them that dreams do still come true.
I need to be the champion.
I need to be... the best...
It takes a little more than just a dream to turn it into a reality, though. That "little more" that everybody needs is just a little belief! You need to believe in yourself, that's the most important part; but it doesn't hurt to have someone else believe in you. Robert Quinn chose to believe in me. He chose to believe that I have what it takes to defeat Ryan Blade and take the Man of Steel title away from him! It was him believing in me that ignited a fire in me to see to it that I live my dream.
Ryan Blade's Choke Job... isn't going to stop me.
Davey Ortega's Saturday Night Ride... isn't going to stop me.
Deathtrain's... quite possibly illegal move known as 'The Crucifix'... isn't even going to stop me.
There's nothing that can happen to me this Sunday that will stop me.
This Sunday, prepare yourselves for history... Prepare yourselves for the flame of Seth Evans to be re-ignited, and the Man of Steel Championship changing hands to a new man! With a bright future! I'm coming to Detroit this Sunday, Ryan; and I'm not leaving without that belt.
GAME ON!
Kiela:
"What do you mean you have a chance to become the Man of Steel Champion?"
Seth:
"It's pretty self-explanatory..."
I could see the amused, but angry look in her eyes because of my sarcastic comment.[/color
Kiela:
"You've already fought Ryan Blade, and you lost... Even worse, you didn't know when to call it quits! You blacked out! They had to send someone down to assist you to the back! And you're telling me that you're going to step back into the ring with him?!"

Kiela sighs, and rolls her eyes. Seth keeps his eyes on her and after a few moments, she looks back into them... her mind races back through what happened when Seth blacked out the last time that he stepped into the ring with Ryan Blade, but she knew that she could not question his dreams. She knew that he needed her just as much as she needed him.
Kiela:
"I can't talk you out of this... You wouldn't even be wrestling if it were my choice. I know you can beat him... I just don't want you to get hurt."
Seth:
"When that bell sounds, Kiela, I'm going to be walking out without any help. And I'm going to do it with the Man of Steel belt wrapped around my waist."
Seth spoke with confidence in his voice, and Kiela forced a smile to her face. The scene fades out just as the waiter gets to their table to see if they were ready to start ordering.
I felt myself stumble forward and my neck connecting with the ropes, knocking out and preventing the oxygen from entering my body... My limp body was hardly holding up against the ropes.
