“I Have done something monumentally stupid.”
We fade In on Devlin Raine, sat by himself legs crossed and on the floor just gazing at the camera.
“Usually you save your biggest and best for last, but the fact is, Spike Kane won. He’s baited me into making the biggest gamble of my career and there’s a very high likelihood that after High Stakes I’m gone, It is the highest of stakes for me.”
A sigh and a breath as he smirks.
“Still think I’m happy just to ‘turn up’ now? I stated here with one goal to fight the best people in the world face to face and win or lose I Knew I’d learn something, last roulette I ended up on an apron with Mike Lazslo and you and AJ put our asses out because we were too wrapped up in each other.”
A shake of his head as he smirks.
“I’d like to say #not this time’ but the fact is you can’t guarantee anything in the roulette, the dice fall as the dice fall, meanwhile you’ve got guys like Nate Harris tearing it up. People are already promising to be the one that ends the ballard of Devlin Raine like I’m some kind of fucking trophy.”
A snort of his breath.
“Bring it on, I say this whole thing isn’t about you, or me hell it’s not even about Spike Kane calling me out it’s about one simple fact.”
Devlin leans forwards.
“I am at my best when the odds are against me, I’m at y best when there is no chance I’m at my best when The only way out is through everyone in front of me Devlin Raine Vs the world.”
A chuckle.
“Add into that Spike Kane and his Invictus title shenanigans and this thing just got interesting, Spike seems to be of the opinion that if a guy doesn’t grab a chair and smash someone’s head in every five seconds that anything he’s ever done is irrelevant that nobody cares that two holdings of a title is jack shit all, yet if the Man of Steel belt meant so much to him why didn’t he come back for it huh? No Spike Kane has to be in the main title picture, that’s why he’s hovering around Angel Blake like a fly on a turd.”
He smirks.
“Yeah I said it, Spike chose Angel to team with there was nothing mutual about it and out came the patented Kane knife in the back and trust me when it comes time for Blake tot count on Spike It’ll be there again Spike Kane is only interested looking after Spike Kane he doesn’t care about family, he doesn’t care about friends, All Spike Kane wants to see is his name plate on the World Belt.”
Devlin start to laugh.
“What gets me is that some of you bought this redemption act, some of you bought that he was finally starting to come around and change, even a little that somehow somewhere Spike Kane wasn’t a double crosser. Supriiiissssse He is!.”
A little fist pump in the air as Devlin’s tone turns mocking.
“You say you’ve got the biggest target on your back because your title is on the line, cry me a river Kane, you’d best believe that if I get a chance I’m gonna feed you to the fucking wolves, because that’s exactly what you deserve, who knows? Maybe I’ll repay Warren the favour I owe him.”
Devlin smiles brightly.
“Wouldn’t that just be the most ironic thing ever, losing the belt to your own son. You’d be so proud.”
He shook his head again.
“But shall we move on?”
His hands rub together, eyes lighting up with mischief.
“We’ll have everyone crawling out of the wood work to get tapes down to say how and why they’re gonna win this and they’ll be the ones everyone thinks of when I was the one to stand up first and call you all out. I hope you all remember that without me your lives will be so much more dull.”
Devlin smirks.
“Speak First Speak loudest, show them you care, instead we’re going to get a cluster of people who just don’t give a good goddamn because in their heads? They have already lost , they don’t want this they never did they’re ones who are happy to just turn up THEY are the ones you to be examining.”
Delvin looks down choking up just a bit as he takes a shaky breath and then releases it slowly.
“So let me make myself clear, if you are one of those guys who don’t thin k you should be here? Take a page out of my book and make the Roulette your last match, all the whining extolling bad crawling in the world won’t do oyu any good, we should l be working every damn day to approach the very best in our business and if that mean s putting everything on the line? Lace those boots up and roll those dice.”
Devlin sat up a little more.
“So for any of you who have any doubts that I’m not going to fight with every breath of my being? You are dead wrong. This isn’t about Destiny anymore this isn’t about twee titles like God slayer or The Hero of time. You don’t see Andrew Jacobson sitting here announcing to all and sundry that he’s going to put it all on the line. You’ll see him stroll lout under the spotlight and announce what he is going to do sure but you don’t see him engaging in real risk. Hell Mike Laszlo just won a ladder match to minimise his risk.”
Devlin shook his head.
“Meanwhile I’ve left myself to the hands of Fate, I even asked to be put in first That can’t happen because of Nighthawk, maybe they’ll put me in second I kidna hope so I really hope so, because When I walk up to the face of Angel Blake , victor of the Roulette you’re all going to be surprised by the people I have at my back.”
Devlin started to stand, raising his arms and eyes gaze directly into the camera.
“And If I should fail, well you can kill a man, but you can’t kill a symbol.”
He nods again.
“Whoever you are, where you sit in the Roulette Take my advice and stay out of my way because I’m aiming to go through everyone , every single last one of you because I literally have everything to lose So we’ll either witness the End of Delvin Raine.”
A small slight chuckle.
“Or the birth of something new.”
Devlin turned on his heel to start to walk away from the camera waving as he opens up a door to a flash of rainbow lights.
“Don’t disappoint.”
Devlin Steps through the door and everything goes to black.
The End?
