JAMES’ PERSONAL LOG: Entry #15
Stardate: 95929.4 (April 30, 2018, 12:00 PM)
“Reunion”
“I hate bein’ sick--especially on a Monday.
I’d rather be flyin’ outta town headin’ towards Bakersfield and the next show. Instead I’m findin’ myself lyin’ in bed, dealin’ with a nasty 101-degree fever. When spring hits, it hits me pretty good; I can’t complain about the timin’ of the l’il bug I caught over the weekend. With Mikhail doin’ his school stuff, I’m left at the villa with no company, no human interaction...just my TV and PS4 to keep me amused.
After a while of watchin’ ‘Deep Space Nine’ on Netflix or playin’ ‘Star Trek Online’ or ‘Final Fantasy XV,’ it becomes somewhat of a babysitter. Even takin’ a nice, hot bath tends to get old after awhile. I wanna go out and do somethin’ fun, but my head’s tellin’ me otherwise. All I can do is drink from my cup of Earl Grey with sweet cream and pray nothin’ else goes wrong.
Yet on this day, I got the biggest surprise ever since I returned to Corpus.
And it felt like a true godsend…”
James Gilmore didn't want to stay awake. He wasn't feeling well, and his body wanted to go back to sleep.
Yet the sound of his villa's doorbell kept him from enjoying his peaceful slumber.
"Oy. Ya gotta be kiddin' me...," he muttered as he trudged slowly from his bedroom towards the front door, carrying his Starfleet-themed mug of piping hot Earl Grey in his hand. He looked awful on what amounted to be a sunny and warm Monday, his forehead as red as crimson and throbbing from ear to ear, but he had to answer the door anyway. The Islander alum opened his front entrance, revealing a face he had not seen in a very, very long time.
Her warm, loving smile, flowing black hair, and blue eyes gave off a comforting aura that Gilmore instantly recognized.
"You have grown your hair back," her angelic Chechnyan voice spoke warmly as James' eyes widened in disbelief.
"Your boob's all firmed up," he joked, cracking a smirk on his face to disguise his illness.
Yulia Malakova couldn't help but laugh as she locked eyes with the one she loved the most. James, in spite of the fever he was running, followed suit and enjoyed the moment. He had spend months trying to put his own life back together, and while seeing Mikhail was the foundation to this process, seeing Yulia again...it was the icing on the cake.
"I have missed you Johnny-JJ," she intoned, her arms outstretched as if she wanted a hug.
"I've missed you too," Gilmore spoke in a grizzled, battle-worn torn as he returned the favor, engaging in a warm embrace that caused whatever throbbing he had in his head to ease--if only for a moment.
They met while on the world's largest passenger cruise ship, the Harmony of the Seas. Yet in the minds of both James and Yulia, they had become more than just fellow mates on a 14-day voyage. They were lovers, full of life and adventure.
TThey were soulmates--and they were back together.
"Welcome home..."
