Everybody who walks through the doors of this wrestling promotion talks about the same thing. You know it, you've heard about it countless times over your many years as a fan of this business. They all talk about the realisation of a dream. Some will go out of their way to tell you that they've held onto the dream for many many years, some even will go so far as to say its a dream they've held onto since childhood.
If you hear it for long enough, there comes a time when you start sharing their dreams, believing in their fantasies and supporting their foolish ambitions, wasting what you have left of your life as adamantly locked in their fruitless pursuits as they are...and the sad thing, the real tragedy of such a hollow and meaningless existence is that in this business, neither you or those you support by holding up your signs, cheering at the top of your lungs and lining their pockets through T-Shirt sales, realise that just as sure as every dream is born...
So too must it inevitably die.
As all things in this world must.
Even now, a couple of weeks removed from Legacy, you are still in morning for the number of dreams you saw die on that night. Dreams of charitable men reduced to the very ashes from which they promised you their rebirth. Dreams of underdogs buried with their bones as they were picked clean by a dominant predator and the dreams of a woman literally stuffed into a casket and left to rot.
It was the latter that unsettled you the most, perhaps because it served only to remind you of your own mortality, and that there really were no heroes left in this world...nobody was coming to Tiffany Jones' rescue...that was the reality both you, she and her family now had to live with, whether you liked it or not.
And I know you don't.
I know you would rather live in the fantasy and ignore the reality.
If it makes you feel any better, I wish I could too.
But that's just not the world we live in...
Damn you TMZ!
This exclamation grabs your attention as you see a black gloved hand holding a photograph of Wentworth Miller on your screen.

How could you do this to me Wenty? I feel like such an idiot, I should have seen the signs. You were a little too cute. Wasn't I good enough for you? NO! NO! I see it now. I see it all now! It isn't me who wasn't good enough for you, its you who was NEVER good enough for me! And another thing Wenty! I never did like you that much and you have a really stupid name and I hope you burn in HELL you HEARTBREAKER!
You see me move my hand over the flickering flame of a candle in the dimly lit room, and the edge of the photograph catches flame.
BURN BABY BURN!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ashes to ashes...
Dust to dust...
Without a good woman...
Your dick will rust...
I hope my cousin was right and it does you bastard!
You see me watch the flames consume the photograph with the wide eyed wonder of a child and the immense pleasure you see come across my face unnerves you.
YES! YES! YES! YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS! OH MY GOD YES!!!!! I NEVER KNEW IT COULD BE LIKE THIS!
We...could have...stayed in some dark closet....together...forever...
You see me shrug in between my gasps for air.
Oh well, your loss buddy! Time for me to move on from this childish fantasy to a real man. A man who appreciates me for who I am. A man who is everything you could never be, and a man who was there for me when it really mattered, my Sexy Lexy! The brand new Imperial Champion! And soon, very soon, we will rule the world together!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Don't think you can come between us either Jessica, I see you acting all cute and bubbly, waving your Championship in his face hoping he notices you, but its not going to work. Do you hear me? ITS NOT GOING TO WORK! He doesn't like nerds anyway, but just to be safe, I want you to know that I will take that Diamonds World Championship from you, and because I don't want you to have any excuses or injuries unless I give them to you, I will do what I have to this week. I will watch your back and I will keep you healthy until the time comes for you to face a real challenge and not just your bestie, okies?
You see me offer a cutesy wave to the camera, you see me turn away from the candle, and the ashes of a dead dream guy.
It seems we've always had more than a passing familiarity with each other doesn't it Ayla? We've already met more than once in a variety of matches and you know exactly what kind of partner and what kind of opponent I can and will be. Truth be told I can't help but feel a little jealous by all the attention you've been getting lately from a special someone. Its been years since somebody took that much time and trouble to woo me and rather than enjoy it, you seem to be a bit creeped out by it...no wonder they say romance is dead, it's wonderful, isn't it? Whoever this dreamboat is sending you such thoughtful messages, if you don't want him, I'll have him.
I'm sure we'll get on like worms in the dirt. Speaking of worms, Amber HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
You see me offer a cutesy wave to the camera.
I hope your rather unconventional recruiting tactics pay off girl, because if they don't and you upset my sweet sweet Lexy, then we will have a real problem girl and if there's one thing I'm good at, its solving problems as you should already know if you've been paying any attention at all. See I don't mind what you do, as long as you do the right thing and do what has been asked of you, you're the second best woman in this company and you even have the gold to prove it, don't make me remind you exactly why you will always be second best around here. What I'm saying is, continue doing what you do best, continue to see your cookies and your box to Cable and we'll keep you around for as long as my Lexy wants. Get any bright ideas about stepping out of line in this match or any other just to prove you're better than me, then I will have no problem reminding you that nobody ever truly triumphs over death, hell and the grave.
You've done well so far, you were impressive at Legacy, you managed to survive three opponents, one of whom you will have to rely to watch your back on Monday, and whilst I'm not sure you can rely on Ayla, especially with her head being where it has been lately, perhaps your best chance is to realise now the one thing it takes so many people so long to realise about their pitiful existence, and that is in the end, we're all alone in this life....all alone...
Aren't we Chloe?
You see me turn my head to the corner of the room where we see somebody sat with their knees tucked up to their chest, wearing a scarlet hooded robe. Instinct told you it was Tiffany Jones as you see me pick up an olive coloured mug from beside the burning candle and take it over to the hooded figure.
You see me squat down beside her, mug in hand and the figure shivers without looking up.
Awwww, you're shivering! Are you cold? Yes, I suppose you must be, it really is a cold, cruel world after all, isn't it? Here you are, have some cocoa, just like my daddy used to make for me on all those cold, lonely nights after mommy died...
Tiffany gratefully accepts the mug, using its warmth in the first instance to warm her hands.
Then he died too of course, then I realised that I was truly alone. You're lucky, you know? At least nobody had to die for you to finally understand just how alone you really are. I didn't take your sister from you, I just took her dreams, that was enough for me...I did that for you, aren't you going to thank me?
Tiffany takes a sip without looking up at her kidnapper and whispers.
Tiffany: Thank you...
You see me smile.
You're very welcome. This is all new to me, I've never had a baby sister to share my stories with before, but its fun. You know what I've enjoyed most about our time together, Chloe?
Tiffany: No...
The stories about the boys of course! All those dream guys you told me about, all those guys who were never there for you. Jake Conway. Mike Kane. Caleb Lockwood...
You see the tears in Tiffany's eyes as she finally looks at me, her reaction sparked by the mention of her current boyfriend's name.
Tiffany: Caleb was never my dream guy...
Really?
Tiffany: I'm dead to him...and he's dead to me!
You see me clap my hands wildly.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
SQUEEE! GOOD FOR YOU GIRL!
You've definitely earned your food tonight. Don't say I don't care about you. I'm the only one who does...
You see me get up, and the scene is obscured by purple smoke as it billows across the screen.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you again soon.
I've got to go get some food now.
I'm thinking pizza.
You see me move my hand over the flickering flame of a candle in the dimly lit room, and the edge of the photograph catches flame.
