Cable: "Can I talk to you?"
{Gjenrei was tightening his gloves on his hands. He turned his head to look towards his partner, standing there looking back at him. Cable usually just started talking, so to ask meant that this must be something important, something that demanded the masked man's full attention.}
Gjenrei: "Of course."
Cable: "Man, how do I put this..."
{Cable shifted in place, an obvious sign of discomfort. Gjenrei turned to face him fully, watching his partner. He and Cable had no skeletons between them, nothing hidden that would suddenly cause a rift. So for Cable to be standing there, trying to find words for his feelings, meant that he either had a problem of his own, or he was questioning what they were after.}
Cable: "You're.. rich.. right?"
{Option one then. Gjenrei tilted his head to the side.}
Gjenrei: "I assume by rich you mean that my adoptive family has a ridiculous amount of wealth. Personally, I only possess what I earned in that ring."
Cable: "That I know.. I just mean.. you have pretty much endless resources available to you, if you needed them.. right?"
{Gjenrei nodded. So Cable had need of monetary resources, more so than he already had access to. This could be either bad, or really bad.}
Gjenrei: "Sure. I only have to ask. Why?"
Cable: "I've been thinking a lot lately. After the whole thing with Angel, and finding out he lied.."
{Cable sat down heavily, resting his arms on his knees and staring at the floor. The pause indicated that he was still in the process of putting that all behind him, feelings that never went away overnight, and the questions that came with them. Questions he still didn't have answers to.}
Cable: "It got me to wondering if the people who made me. My birth parents.. if they still live and breathe to this day. I know I could be just chasing shadows, but it's plagued me since then, knowing that they may still be out there, and I just wonder if they know that I'm still here. Y'know?"
{Gjenrei nodded, then in a rare display of actual emotion, stopped what he was doing, and sat down next to his partner, matching his seated position.}
Gjenrei: "Believe it or not, I do."
Cable: "So, I was thinking.. that maybe I should see if I can find them. Hear it from their own lips as to how I ended up here while they ended up where-ever they are."
Gjenrei: "An admirable wish."
Cable: "And if I find that they're gone or something, at least I'll know. They maybe I can stop thinking about it."
{The two sat together in silence for a time. Looking at the pair, their demeanor and mannerisms, you'd think they couldn't be more different. But it was slowly dawning on each of them just how the same they could possibly be.}
Gjenrei: "I understand. So what do you need from me?"
Cable: "To be honest, I don't know. I have no clue how to proceed."
Gjenrei: "I'll.. talk to Randall. He'll know what to do. See if we can get the ball rolling."
Cable: "Randall? Oh, your foster father."
Gjenrei: "Yes. He's offered countless times to try and find my birth parents. He has to know how to go about it. But you should know, that once he starts the procedure, there's no turning back until the end. A fact he drilled into me every time."
{Cable nodded.}
Cable: "I'm prepared. Not sleeping because I don't like the answer is better than not sleeping because I don't know the answer, you know?"
Gjenrei: "I understand."
Cable: "Well, that's a load off.."
{Cable stood and stretched, then adjusted the tape on his hands, ready for another heavy bag session.}
Cable: "I can get back to preparing to kick your ass."
Gjenrei: "No Good luck this time? I'm crushed."
Cable: "Eh, you'll get over it. ...Hey.. question.."
Gjenrei: "What?"
Cable: "How come you've never searched?"
{Gjenrei thought a long time, and Cable was about to apologize for bringing it up when he spoke again.}
Gjenrei: "I used to think about it a lot. But I'd always decide that their perception of how I may have turned out, no matter what it is, is definitely better than who I became, so I would leave it at that. For their sake at least."
Cable: "It doesn't bother you at all...?"
Gjenrei: "...Not anymore."

"People, in this business in particular, will misplace their emphasis to great personal dismay. The things they take pride in, the things they choose to focus on, are the most mundane and useless in the greater design, but at the moment, they take on more meaning than they should ever have. The trick to finding the way to both achieve your dreams and keep from becoming a burned out husk long before your time is to understand the difference between what is worthy of your focus, and what you should smile at while it passes by.
People who understand this, are satisified when their careers end. The people who don't, spend time and energy trying to come back when their physical and mental limits have been completely and utterly exhausted. They live upon their names, they demand rewards based upon their legacy.
They forgot what it meant to earn.
If you ever question why the incident with Tara happened, there is your answer. If you do not understand it, then you belong to that same category as she. I played my hand in that, as a matter of justice to all those she wronged, and all those she will continue to wrong with her actions. I stand here, today, to say that in my heart, that is what is right. This is my honor. You are not required to understand, accept, or agree.
In fact, if you believe vengeance is in order. Then by all means.. you know where to find me.
It doesn't matter who doesn't trust me, who doesn't respect me, who lacks faith in me or who doesn't believe I have what it takes. I won't put emphasis on the thoughts of others, and if you feel that you can force it upon me, you'll find out just how swift my vengeance can be.
I don't need to find one magical thing that makes everything I've done worthwhile..
Because everything I do is worth it."

"Hello?"
Gjenrei: "Hello, Randall."
"Hey, Chris. How goes things in the wrestling world?"
{Gjenrei sighed. Chris was the name they'd given him, so he would seem more American while in school, and thus save him from being the torment other children can bring. It didn't work, but they never needed to know that.}
Gjenrei: "Everything is fine. I know you're a busy man, so.."
"Nonsense. Never too bust to speak with my son. What do you need?"
Gjenrei: "I was wondering if I could bother you for a favor."
"Of course, son. Just name it."
Gjenrei: "You know all the names of thos investigators you said could find anyone, anywhere?"
{There was a pause as the man inhaled sharply.}
"Yes. Of course, do you need it?"
Gjenrei: "Yes."
"Still not much for elaborating, huh?"
Gjenrei: "No."
{He heard his foster father chuckle. He'd come to know it as a courtesy laugh, something the man did to keep from letting his anger show through. Randall was a man who liked to know information, and Gjenrei was a man who didn't give information without being asked. Many an argument ensued over this. So Gjenrei bit the bullet.}
Gjenrei: "I need help in finding someone. Someone important."
"To you?"
Gjenrei: "In a way.. but it's more for someone else."
"So this isn't about your parents, then..?"
{Gjenrei was silent a long moment.}
Gjenrei: "No.. not yet."

"Typically, when it comes to this part of the promo, with five other men in the match, you'd expect a long tired diatribe about each of them. Well, I'm not as much for words as some other pompous windbags we've already heard from, so I hope you'll forgive me if this is mercifully brief compared to what you've heard.
First, to get Cable out of the way.
He and I possess a unique understanding. I don't have to tell him what this match can mean for our careers. I don't have to promise that I'll fight him, or make some kind of assurance that we're still be a team after this match. He simply knows. If you have to question why he already knows, for whatever reason..
You simply don't realize it's a matter of him being a smarter man than you.
As for Rob,
It goes back to my point earlier about emphasis. You tore me down because you chose to emphasize a win, though you defeated neither of us. The bell rang, the match ended, and we were ready to continue fighting. We chose to follow the rules that govern us and cease. You traded that fact for a farce to stroke your own ego. Frankly, I expected better.
We gave you real credit as a person and a team, you chose to give me credit based upon a lie. While I wish you the best, I see nothing but more regrets, more decisions that give you pause, and then seeking something else to validate it all in the end. If you choose to live that way, fine. But do not slander the names of your teachers if you've chosen to learn nothing from them.
As far as Spike is concerned,
You seem to misunderstand me. For my brutality was not the cause, it was the means by which the cause was achieved. Your last opponent wasn't left broken and destroyed at your hands. Your last match wasn't inside a cage of steel or a haven of death and pain. Should I believe that you have lost your edge as well? No, because I know better. I didn't realize that when I signed a contract with IWF, the great God of Xtreme Spike Kane was going to critique me and yet, not himself.
My mistake, yet, I still don't care. You want to see who's more brutal? A man with your pull should have no problem getting that match booked. Get it done, and I'd be more than happy to sign up and be there. If you choose to remain on your pedastal and question me, then feel free. That will not affect me in the slightest either. The choice is yours.
Then there is Cyrus..
I hear your words, and they simply ring hollow. You've already revealed yourself to be a simple parasite, leeching off of whoever you can dig your teeth into. There's no dreams of glory you say? Then why are you even bothering? You're just covering your empty threats with pretty words to try and convince yourself that Bernard isn't just a scapegoat to you. Someone you can blame when things go wrong. Someone you can betray to show off your ego. Just like Kingsley before him, he will be your "friend" until you don't need him.
Mike Laszlo is the same way, maybe he'd team with you. Then when you betrayed him, at least you'd be doing a favor to us all.
As for Bernard..
A team like License to Kill is about as welcome as a hundred thousand copies of License to Drive. It will be there, then it will fade away and nobody will remember it. Two men who come together for assanine reasons, go nowhere against real teams with real comeraderie, and then break up. So, simply do us all a favor and let it go now. We've seen the same scenario a dozen times already and frankly it's already become quite tiresome.
But I don't expect you to care.
Nor do I care for any of this title nonsense. All I know is that I will stand in a ring with 5 other men. My partner, two legends, and two that are little more than leeches. Who will get the next chance at Lex Sense? I really don't care. Let the word loves hash it out with their tired speeches and cliche'd promos.
I have better things to do."
