Nate walked out of the shower, drying his hair as he walked to his room.
“Meeting his parents, huh?” Nick asked.
“It’s important to him.” Nate shrugged opening the closet.
“I mean, seems kinda serious don’t you think?” Nick asked.
“Meeting the parents? He’s met mine.”
“Yeah, hooker, but you introduce one night stands to your parents.”
“First of all, bitch.”
“Tell me I’m wrong?”
“Like, you’re not but that’s just because my family is everywhere. You met your girls parents yet?” Nate asked pulling out the suit and tossing it on the bed.
“That’s different.”
“How is it different?” Nate asked.
“Tosha is an only child. It different.”
“Listen, I don’t get the hype but I’m not gonna keep pushing him on it.”
“Nate…When did you even get that?”
“Yesterday.” Nate waved it off.
“You never wear suits. Like ever.”
“It’s important for Riley.”
“…Is that bitch going to propose or something?”
Nate stopped his searching to look at Nick. “What?”
“I mean, making you dress up. The utter frustration comin’ off him. Meeting the parents. Seems like a lot.”
“We haven’t been dating that long. Chill.” Nate shook his head. “I’m not abandoning you to this rent alone.”
“That’s not what I’m worried about.”
“Then what are you worried about?”
“Like, you have trouble saying no when you are put on the spot.”
“Biitch.”
“You always impulse say yes, hooker. Pax will back my ass up on this.”
“Listen, it ain’t that bad, okay? Things are fine. Just relax.”
"Don't come crying to me when he got your ass picking napkins."
“Alright, it’s your boy Nate back with a second. Let’s have a serious chat about the champions in this fucking company for a hot minute shall we?”
“We got that trick ass ho Dean Harper, his Daddy and whatever the fuck is going on over there and Xavier fucking Cross.”
“What do all three of this motherfuckers have in common?”
“They evil sons of bitches.”
“Xavier Cross might have been selling that good shit a year ago but we all seen where his priorities are now. Angel Blake? There is twelve different flavors of crazy over there that I ain’t touching.”
“Beyond Bob fuckin’ Pooler the men’s division has been bent over the table for the darker parts of this fucking company. Don’t matter what no one did. Don’t matter what anyone says. All ya’ll want to talk that good shit about Team Free Will but what were ya doing? Oh that’s right, petty shit. Arguing about who could be president in the future, arguing about who was a bigger badass.”
“Ya’ll want to step up and act like you got what it takes to save us now?”
“Nah, that’s some fake ass bullshit. You don’t care about the company. You don’t care about the rest of us in the lockerroom. Fighting evil just happens to be cool when you want the world title.”
“You think I don’t see it? If you cared about this company you’d be on Angel or his bastard’s title. But you ain’t. You don’t give a flying fuck about trying to save this company. Rowan owns all our asses the difference is TFW knew for fucking months and been working to stop it. Did we win?”
“Nah. But at least we acted like we gave a fuck before it became trendy for merch sales. But tell me more about how much you care. Tell me more. Tell me how you the hero we deserve.”
“Ya’ll ain’t nothing. Ya never were nothing. You just want that bump. I respect the game but you don’t got shit to stand on.”
“When Spike Kane was saying we were all useless garbage this time last year. Who cared? Oh right, my boy, me, Pax and TFW Dev and AJ.”
“That’s who cared. Fuck, Dev put his mother fucking career on the GODDAMNED line to try and fight the pack and Age of Gods. Don’t act like ya’ll suddenly like him just because Cross beat his ass so hard he can’t recover.”
“Ya’ll who bad mouthed him the whole time I’ve been in this company? Naaaah.”
“You using Devlin’s body as your soapbox because it convenient for you. You don’t give a flying fuck about any of us but those in your cliché.”
“At least be honest about it. Feel me?”
“So yeah, maybe I’m in this for Team Diversity Hire. Maybe I’m in this for myself. But let’s be honest, let’s be real.”
“Everyone gave up on saving this company the moment Spike got his ass dead in the ring. Anyone could have stepped up and tried to stop it. But we all gave up.”
“And you know what? Shit happens. But at least look your ass in the mirror and accept we all failed instead of pointing fingers. The Pack? They own our ass. The best any of us can fucking do is try to make sure one of them or The Clergy don’t make it to the final number. That it.”
“I might hate most of yall but at least if it between y’all and the demon cult I’m gonna have your back. Course Pax and Nick will always get picked before any of yall.”
“I don’t front. I’m real. None of that fake shit.”
“I’m comin’ in at number fucking two. Chances of me getting to the end? Maybe not the best but I’m gonna do what I fucking can to bump those evil sons of bitches out of the running before I go.”
“Trust.”
