This past Monday, I took my family to Cedar Point to enjoy the park's many great attractions like Top Thrill Dragster or Steel Vengeance.
Yet it was an unexpected attraction that completely surprised me.
Behind the scenes, IWF cameras were out filming a prerecorded segment to continue the build-up of the Being Infamous time-travel storyline involving IWF Superstar and current StrongStyle Champion James Gilmore, who played the role of "William Shatner" to great laughter from the crowd. During the impromptu show, he performed 19th Century Western-ized versions of rock 'n' roll's greatest hits with a woman playing the role of "Lara Croft." It was comedy gold, seeing these two work together and actually singing quite well.
Yet when the cameras stopped rolling, little did ANYONE know that a huge announcement would be forthcoming.
The woman broke her character and introduced herself as none other than Fiona McFly...and the crowd went bananas! It was Ms. McFly's first public appearance of any kind since her match with Charity Crowne in Tokyo in December of 2018, almost seven months ago. Since that time, she had been staying in Corpus Christi, Texas while receiving medical and psychiatric care for a pinched nerve in her neck and depression respectively.
It was then, at that moment, when the 2016 Iron Maiden gave the best news any wrestling fan would want to hear. Before the big reveal however, she acknowledged to the assembled gathering that whilst she hasn't played as many video games as she did when she was younger, it "warmed her heart" to see the many fan submissions and screen captures of her likeness in IWF 2K19.
And then, the reveal happened.
I can CONFIRM that, as of this past Monday, Ms. McFly had been given the "all-clear" by her spine and neck specialist, Dr. Samantha Waters, to step inside the ring and compete. This is HUGE news for the Imperial Wrestling Federation, as its women's roster has undergone an extreme amount of turnover in recent months. Yet when I asked her when she will be making her return to in-ring action, she simply smiled at me, pointed to her newly-inked "Mama Bear" and McFly family crest tattoos, and said...
..."you never know with me!"
If the brief teaser trailer that followed the pre-filmed segment was any indicator, we will have our answer sooner than you think.
All I do know is that all hell will be breaking loose the moment fans hear her voice on TV again.
