The Prologue Part I
The ancient world, filled of might and magic, there stood one house. The Noble House of Cross, that valued Realm, Family, and the Old Gods. This Noble House stood strong, taking it’s rise before the current King of the Realm. During the reign of the old king, it’s closest advisor was the head of the Cross family. This lead to the Cross taking hold of most of the Northern parts of the kingdom, though the ground was harden by the constant winter, the people learned to survive, to hunt, to fight, to help their neighbors.
Honor ruled the North.
Our story surrounds the next heir to the Northern Throne, Lord Xavier Cross.
Lord Cross, was a man of honor, though it wasn’t always this way. During his younger years, Cross abandoned the name, and took up rough riders, become a sword for hire. But the day his father grew deathly ill, he found his honor. Knowing his homelands would enter chaos, with no heir to the Cross name, other than himself. He abandoned the life he lived, and returned home, to mixed reaction. Lord Cross took his father’s chair.
But then war began.
The elder king had grown mad with power, a young Lord, of the Knite family rose up to oppose him, gathering his armies, the loyal House of Cross was called on by both sides to take on the reign of Lord Leonard Fox. Cross initially kept his family out of it. Supporting the Realm, more than who sat upon the Throne of Champions.
However, neutrality was met by the Mad King Fox, with treachery. His daught, Lady Kelly Fox, was bethroed to her love, Lord Adam Knite, however, realizing the Mad King was leading the realm to destruction, Lord Knite rose an army against the tyrant. The Mad King Fox, took his daughter, and locked her away from the world.
Lord Adam, retreated from the front lines, to ask the help of the next greatest army in the land, The Cross Family. Xavier continued his ideas of neutralism, until the day Lord Knite came to him, explaining the story of his beloved, Lady Fox. Moved by the passion, and the own lack of love in his life. Cross pledged to Knite’s conquest of the realm, and to save his beloved.
The war would wage on for Five years, in which time the alliance of Knite and Cross had grown, with the Bandit King Kane, The Knight of Love Sir Awesome, A wealthy warlord Lord Washington, and a leader of rebel soldiers of the Mad King Fox’s own faction, Maester of Chaos, Lord Diamond.
Eventually, through the five year war, the Mad King Fox held tight in his fortress, Cross went back home, leaving his army in the hands of Lord Knite. Cross returned home, to find a suitable wife, and marry off. Something his father’s dying request. One day, during a hunt with a small Lord neighbor, Cross got separated from the group, stumbling upon a cave. He took shelter in the cave, as the rain came. In the North, the rain was closely followed by falling Ice. Cross would have frozen to death if not for her. The first time he met her, she came in the form of an angel on fire, a Phoenix.
Her warmth filled the cave, and his bones, her embrace was hot, as were her lips. She kept him shelter during the night, until he was able to regain his strength to venture back to his hold. Realizing there was something out there, worth fighting for, and that his home would be next in the War against the Mad King Fox, Cross rejoined the Alliance, taking the front lines, showing the world he was not just a young lord, he was a brilliant fighter.
Eventually Knite, Awesome, and Kane were able to take the King’s Gate, killing the Mad King Fox. While Cross, Diamond, and Washington were able to discover the location of Lady Fox, Adam’s love. Dispatching the remaining King’s forces, Cross and company were able to reunite the loves. Adam Knite would take the Throne of Champions, along with his queen, Lady Kelly Fox-Knite.
Washington, Kane, and Diamond were appointed into the King’s cabinet, while Awesome was made Commander of the King’s Guard. Cross, wanting to return to his post as Lord of the North, decided to turn down the position of Hand, however, Adam would not let Cross leave empty handed. In turn, there were two weddings that day, the Royal Wedding of the Knites, as well as a union of the Cross and Knite families. Xavier married Zelda Knite, Adam’s youngest sister, who would become Lady of the North, forging a powerful blood alliance between the two.

Honourbound.
Two men, who are mover and shakers. The man who proved himself a worthy opponent, taking me to school last week. Good job Cable, you’re a hell of a competitor, and I can make all the excuses in the world, but when it boils down to it all you.
You were better than me.
Alas, that’s where my praise stops. Last week, I wasn’t able to quite enjoy my first Sacrifice post winning back my Heavyweight title, and now Honourbound, stands in the bright lights of two champions. The true dynamic duo.
Xavier Cross, and Ryan Blade.
Heavyweight. Man of Steel.
The fucking superhero comic is writing itself right now.
Sadly, there have to be villains to every story Cable. It’s the job of the hero, to crush the villain, save the day, kiss the girl. I refuse to be beaten by the same man twice. I refuse to lay down, especially when my boy wonder is in my corner. I’m unbeatable. I trust this kid with my life. My protege, I’ve never had one, and I don’t plan on letting him down now, or ever.
Heck, the kid practically looks up to me...sort of...kind of...okay well not as much as I like, but progress will be made!
...I hope…
Anyway! Cable. I have a good scouting report on you now, facing a veteran like me is always dangerous the second time. But who am I to make the jump to conclusion, you got your own life partner. Gjengei. You two have the second best chemistry in the tag team division. Heck, I’m sure you could even give Rob Diamond a run for his money Cable.
The fact is, I’ve beaten men better than you.
I’ve beaten men bigger than you.
But does it matter? I haven’t beaten you yet.
But that changes Sunday.
Now, onto Gjenger, since I gave Mary Anne a piece of my mind. That’s a gilligan’s island reference if you didn’t catch it.
I don’t get it man, it seems like each week, you are Amber Richards are fighting for the attention of your partner. You know the pitfalls of getting distracted, you know how to focus on your goal. The reason that Cable Arcane got burned, is because he got distracted. That would have never happened to you right? You’re better than that. You’re the heart and the brains of this opperation am I right?
Cable is just the extra muslce?
You know, the flunky. You know what’s going on, and how to steer the ship in the right direction. You wouldn’t ever be caught dead being his first mate? Right Skipper?
So I’m curious as to why you’re wasting your time. You got all this talent, all this ability, why not pave out a singles career. You ever wonder why you haven’t beaten InFamous, and won the Tag Titles yet? Could it be because you put the team on your back, and that Arcane is just dead weight? Dead weight that is holding you back from greatness Gjeng.
I see potential in you, but yet you surrounded yourself with pathetic people like Cable Arcane, and I wonder, if maybe you’re scared. That you won’t be able to make it in singles comp, that you have to have someone watching your back. Let me tell you one thing Gjeng.
When the opportunity presents itself, Cable will stab you in the back. Of course I don’t have to worry about Ryan Blade ever turning on me, Robin would never turn on Batman! However, Cable, where do his loyalties lie? He’s already got the girl, what do you got, a distracted partner? He got a good win over me last week, so we both know his confidence has to be sky high. What makes you think he doesn’t see you as expendable. What if Cable wises up, and HonourBound becomes Cable’s Ambition. Will you be nothing but a tool for his success, a stepping stool for his career, a footnote?
Or will you be the own to conquer?
It’s a nice little bit of food for thought. Think about it Gjeng. You could be great alone, or dragged into obscurity with Cable Arcane. Or hell, he could drop you like a Prom Night Dumpster Baby.
And when you’re all alone, you’ll think back to this moment, and remember.
Xavier Cross told you so.

Prologue II
Years when by, Zelda Cross seemed to bare a child with each winter coming. Yet she remained the definition of beauty and grace. She was only 16, Cross was 22 when the two were wed. Now they stood together at 26, and 32, reigning over the vast Northlands. It was a peaceful time. However, just like the seasons, the time of peace was bound to change.
During the Mad King’s reign, the Land’s debt grew with each passing year. King Adam tried his damnest to decrease it, but eventually the bill had to be paid.
It was paid in blood.
No Lord dared to defy The Great Bank. Adam Knite and his family were banished from the lands to a far away waste. A new King was placed on the throne.
From one of the richest families in all the land.
The reign of Lord Robert Verona would prove to spark the great war for the Throne of Champions. Alliances forged, the land torn in rebellion.
Because when you play the Game of Champions. You either win, or you die.
This is where Lord Xavier Cross, and the Cross Legacy would mark their place in history.
This is the story, of The Game of Champions.
