My name's Dr. Gregory Livingston, and I've been a neck and spine specialist at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas for over 35 years. Ms. Fiona McFly, the patient undergoing this experimental procedure to correct her spondylosis condition, has requested that I keep a record of what transpires during the procedure for the Imperial Wrestling community to read.
Please be advised that, even though a doctor is supposed to be dispassionate, there might be some subjective items in these entries.
January 26, 2021 - 8:00 PM The procedure begins. Dr. Katherine Rhodes has administered a sedative to Ms. McFly utilizing a device called a "hypospray." All of the items needed for the procedure were carefully numbered and color-coded per specific instructions from a Dr. Daisy Rhodes, written on a tablet-like device called a PADD.
I joked to Katherine that, perhaps, she was related to Daisy.
9:00 PM Ms. McFly is sound asleep as the nanites are administered. I'm monitoring her vital signs along with the status of the nanites on a monitor. Right now, the affected area in her neck is showing a deep, dark blue color -- the nanites are the little white dots. Blue is what we don't want to see, means that the cells are extremely compressed causing discomfort.
Subjectively...while I know very little about wrestling, I can't believe any sane doctor would allow someone like Ms. McFly to even think of competing with that condition. Maybe I'm missing something here, but if she was one of my primary patients, I'd have sat her down and said "no more."
11:00 PM The first of the nanites have dissolved into Ms. McFly's bloodstream...and her vitals are increasing somewhat. According to the instructions, this was typical. The little buggers seem to be working, though, as several areas on her neck have started to turn from a dark blue to a lighter blue.
January 27, 2021 - 1:00 AM The nanites are working their magic, Ms. McFly's vitals are stable. Now the area around her neck has changed, from a light blue to a mid-level green. This indicates that the cells in the affected area are starting to decompress.
I've been in the medical profession for a long, long time now, and this tech is amazing. If we can use the instructions to help create nanites similar to the ones we're using now, it would be a medical breakthrough.
2:00 AM I took a break for a bit to collect my thoughts. Nurse Mishima is keeping an eye on the proceedings for me. When I stepped out into the waiting area, I saw James Gilmore keeping vigil outside along with some of his fellow Academy students. When I asked Mr. Gilmore about what would possess someone like Ms. McFly to keep on doing what she's doing despite her condition, he looked at me and said:
"This school was her idea, her baby. She's doin' this for us -- we wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for her."
3:00 AM Back in the workroom. Vitals are stable, the area in her neck is new starting to turn into a light shade of red. We want to see red, means that the cells are beginning to decompress.
Incredible...! Imagine the new science this technology will create.
5:00 AM The last of the nanites have dissolved. Vitals and neck status remain the same.
7:00 AM Katherine and I agreed to wake Ms. McFly from her sleep. When awakened, she joked about wanting cold pizza or something. We'll take an hour to run some tests, make sure everything's on the up and up.
8:00 AM Success! After an hour of tests, Ms. McFly reported no discomfort in her neck. She's in pretty high spirits as I left to take my last break. This time, nobody was in the waiting area. I can't help but think that Mr. Gilmore has everyone gathered in the main plaza, waiting for the good news.
We do, however, want to follow up with Ms. McFly sometime next week for more tests -- out of an abundance of caution for any adverse effects caused by the procedure.
This will be my final entry. It has been a great honor to help record these proceedings for the Imperial community.
