{There is a short video montage, highlighting recent activities from the previous edition of IWF: Sacrifice playing before the words GAME ON cover the screen; the montage fades to the studio of Game On, with Seth Evans already standing in front of the camera… the background is organized with five monitors, all playing through the opening introduction of the latest IWF video-game released on all consoles. To one side is the Xbox Series X, a Playstation 5 next to it, a Switch next to it, and two custom built gaming PCs next to it.}
Seth Evans: Welcome! Welcome! Thank you, everybody, for tuning in this week to the FIRST edition of Game On since my return, and I thought… it would be good to get this back underway! I must inform all of the people, whether viewer or co-worker, that everything said within this show is… in fact… a matter of my opinion, and in no way, shape, or form does it represent the views of anyone part of the administrative staff. I will be telling everyone who I believe stood out as the top wrestler of the week! I will be sharing who I think shared the best match. I will be sharing my predictions for the upcoming event… Danger Zone this week, everybody…
{Seth clicks his tongue and shoots a finger gun at the camera.}
Seth Evans: I will even be conducting an interview with anyone EMPLOYED by the Imperial Wrestling Federation, and I’ve got a good one to start: the IWF World Champion: James Gilmore! He will be joining me later on! I may come up with more things as the weeks progress of what to discuss, but for now… that’s how we’ll start! And we may even have some time for a game of the latest IWF game. We are going to get started! With! TOP FIVE!
{A graphic crosses the screen. Seth Evans checks his tablet for his notes.}
Seth Evans: This has been a hectic week, a lot of great competition out there… and so coming up with this list was not easy, not in the least, but I think that this man deserves to be in the top five this week and that is…
5.
SCOTT HANDSOME: This is a man that talks. A lot. This is a man that no matter how many times he gets knocked down, he gets right back up, and he marches right back down to that ring for the next opponent! Whilst I will not be using reasoning from previous weeks as any sort of reasoning to put people on this list, he was impressive in the battle royal. Quite impressive, and this week, he earned a victory over one of IWF’s newcomers in Kelvin Rivers, who has a history in the industry! Make no mistake, that is a big victory for Scott Handsome, and that could be the momentum he needs to carry it on in the following weeks.

4.
TYTUS ROST: Despite losing to Xavier Zion, Tytus Rost takes the number four spot on the opening week because I have been excited watching him step foot in the ring each week. He decimated his previous competition! One thing that stood out to me is that he did not follow suit like the rest of the roster, especially the newcomers: when Ulf announced the battle royal invitational to earn a chance to face him for the IWF World Television Championship, Tytus Rost DID NOT enter! This is just a hiccup on his road to bigger, greater things, and I think the fact that he refused to enter that tournament tells me one thing… WORLD CHAMPION. Future. World. Champion. He doesn’t have his eyes set on anything but! If anything, I think this loss is going to put a fire under him, and his next opponent is not going to walk out of the next arena on their own two feet. And I love his manager! Always vocal! Always in your face! That man is going to go down in the IWF Hall of Fame as just… the greatest manager ever!

VENDETTA: Now, I have seen Jessè Marchand and Travis Reinhart compete before, and that’s why I knew the moment they signed on with the IWF, they were going to take the tag team division by storm! It’s teams like this that make me excited to see the tag team division BACK in IWF, and THRIVING. There are a lot of new teams that were introduced recently, but… do you want to know what I think really happened when IWF reinstated the World Tag Team Titles? It lit the beacon! It raised a flag! All tag team specialists around the world are going to make their way to the IWF to prove something! Now, for those who have not yet made it… Vendetta is going to be that team to beat. Mark my words! Today, is the Powers That Be. Tomorrow may be Fateful Danger, or Gods & Monsters, but soon: it will be Vendetta!

2.
XAVIER ZION: My opponent for Danger Zone comes in hot at this list, with a huge win over another man that was making a huge splash on the scene in IWF, and the only reason he ranked higher on the list was the fact that he walked out with the victory! This is a man that… in all honesty… I see nothing but a bright future for inside the IWF. And I look forward to facing you at Danger Zone! {Seth Evans gives two thumbs up to the camera.}

TEAM DIVERSITY HIRE: Welcome back, Team Diversity Hire! Another team that is returning to the IWF in the aftermath of the Tag Team World Cup, and the reinstatement of the IWF World Tag Team Titles, and make no mistake about it, this is going to be another one of those teams that shines brightly going forward! They’ve already taken a shot at the belts. No luck. No shame in that! Angel and Dean Harper are arguably two of the best in the IWF, both of them are former World Champions. It was the same thing happening at Sacrifice this week! Team Diversity Hire went against Those Damn Gaijin in my boy, Andrew Jacobsen, and Ethan King! Two. FORMER. World. Champions. These guys are not backing down in shame, they are not hiding away… they are going out to that ring and doing everything they can think of, because competition is tight. A belt, whether current or former, does not mean anything! That’s the mentality we all need to carry. Yes, the competition is tough, but never impossible! Congratulations, Team Diversity Hire, not only on your victory, but also on attaining the number one spot for my Top 5! … we’re going to come up with a better name for that.

Make no mistake! Not everyone can make this list, and it’s a shame… it’s not taking anything away from anyone, and I know… who am I to any of you?
{Seth shrugs his shoulders.}
Seth Evans: If you are tuning in to Game On, I guarantee there’s a part of you that gives a damn what my opinion is, and so I hope to see more people step up and make it even harder next week! The list of individuals and teams that made this list stood out, but now… who put on the best damn match?
MATCH OF THE WEEK: Xavier Zion v. Tytus Rost!
Reasoning: The reason that I decided to choose Xavier Zion and Tytus Rost as the two who put on the best match of the week is because of how close the competition was… how it could have gone either way! You have a giant in Tytus Rost. These two shared their words with each other and fought it out in what I believe was the tightest, toughest, competition! It just so happens that Xavier Zion did walk out with his arm raised, but if Tytus had landed that haymaker… Whew! It could have ended very, very differently!
Next up is going to be the predictions for Danger Zone!
TAG TEAM MATCH
Violent Tendencies v. Vendetta
My prediction is… VENDETTA
Reasoning: Vendetta SIGNED up for the IWF as a tag team. They were not going to sign a contract for the IWF until there was a rejuvenated tag team division, which was recently acquired… furthermore, it’s hard for me to ever vote against Tara, as she did in fact train Jessè “The Iceman” Marchand… make no mistake… Vendetta is looking to get started on a long streak, and I think before long, we could see them becoming the IWF World Tag Team Champions. They are feeling a high after defeating The Discipled, and I think that carries them on.
SINGLES MATCH
Seth Evans v. Xavier Zion
My prediction is… ME. SETH EVANS.
Reasoning: Do I need a reason to really predict that I’m going to walk out as the winner? Listen, you all know that I’m not cocky. I’m not full of myself. I don’t dismiss the ability that Xavier Zion has inside of the ring, but the fact of the matter is that I should just rip up my contract if I ever go down to that ring with any doubt in my mind: I can. I am… going to walk out as the winner of that match, but it is not going to be easy! Good luck to you, Xavier!
{Seth Evans gives two thumbs up to Xavier Zion, who he was certain was somewhere watching.}
TAG TEAM MATCH
NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH
Tornado, No Disqualification
Gods & Monsters v. The Fateful Danger
My prediction is… GODS & MONSTERS.
Reasoning: Listen, any other week, I would have voted for The Fateful Danger, Nick Danger, and Draco Wolfe. Nick Danger is full of heart! He is a fighter! He is a competitor! But there was a little mishap between them last week, which I think would have given the momentum to gain the edge in my prediction here, but they just… they did not show me anything last week, so it is hard for me to say that they are going to be able to defeat a duo that has recently come together, albeit too late to walk out as the first-ever IWF World Tag Team Champions, but these two, since, have gotten on the same page, and have proven to be quite dangerous to their competitors. Since the end of the tournament, they have been undefeated as a tag team. I believe it is going to stay that way.
IWF WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Ulf Hednir © v. JC Keeton
My prediction is… ULF HEDNIR.
Reasoning: Hey, I absolutely love what I’ve seen out of JC Keeton. He has been a man on fire on his first night back in the IWF, walking out to compete not in one… but two matches, and being victorious in both! Don’t get me wrong: I knew that JC Keeton had it in him, and I was like… ninety-nine percent sure that he was going to fight in the battle royal, but I did not think that he would have enough in the tank to go on to win the entire thing, but he did! So, yes, he is very talented. He is on fire. He is hungry. None of that matters. Ulf Hednir is also a recent return, much like half the roster, honestly, and Ulf has shown that he is hungrier! This is a young man, he just won his first championship in professional wrestling, and I remember my first time winning a belt: I did not want to let go! Ulf does not want to let go! He is not going to be eliminated in his first defense. Besides, I have to hope he does just so I have a chance to battle him for that belt of his.
{Seth shrugs his shoulders and chuckles over the comment.}
IMPERIAL DIAMONDS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Cals Jacobsen v. Rowan ©
My prediction is… CALS JACOBSEN.
Reasoning: Cals Jacobsen looked incredibly strong against Tara Fenix last month, but it wasn’t enough to be able to defeat Tara. This does not dissuade Cals hunger. In fact, it makes Cals hungrier! Cals Jacobsen is going to show us all some abilities we did not see out of Cals previously! Cals Jacobsen is walking out as the Imperial Diamonds Champion.
IWF MEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
James Gilmore © v. Warren Kane
My prediction is… DRAW.
Reasoning: Warren Kane has done a lot since being in IWF; I remember he was one of the first to sign a contract, along with myself, but he has done so… much… more… and that’s why I don’t think he’s going to let this go easily, but I think that there’s just too much going on outside. You’re going to have Ethan King, Caleb Lockwood, Gregor Winter, Dean Harper, and you cannot even forget that Angel… while commentating… is also on the outside. There is just too much! I don’t see this ending well for James Gilmore, and Warren Kane. If either one of you needs a hand to help throw some hands, I’ll be down there!
{Seth puts his fists up as if he were going to fight, and nods his head, before dropping his hands and resuming to the main event.}
Seth Evans: Last, but certainly not least…
IWF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Abigail © v. Virginia Stepanov v. Tara Fenix
My prediction is… VIRGINIA STEPANOV.
Reasoning: It is hard… It is very hard for me to vote against my trainer, Tara, but I do not have much of a choice in this! She wants the championship, make no mistake about that, but I think the history that she has with the Kane family is what is going to prevent her from being able to fully capitalize on the situation, and that she is going to focus too much on wanting to hurt Abigail for being a Kane, allowing Virginia Stepanov to take advantage and finally win the belt from Abigail. Tara is a jack of all trades, make no mistake about that! Virginia has shown that she will struggle against people that fly, but… it’s just not going to be enough. It doesn’t matter how high you fly, or how fast you are, or how much experience you have: you lose your entire game plan when you’re getting punched in the face, and not many people do that better than Virginia as a former MMA star.
{Seth claps his hands together, and rubs his palms together.}
Seth Evans: That is MY prediction, folks! For those of you who I did not vote for, please… PLEASE… go out there and prove me wrong! PROVE! ME! WRONG! I beg of you! We are just about done here, though, folks, all that we have left is our special guest who I am being told is waiting backstage and is ready to come out. Without further ado!
{Seth gestures for the camera, and is quite surprised when Roberto Verona comes out instead of James Gilmore.}
Seth Evans: Well, well, well! Welcome to Game on, Mr. Verona… it has been a long time since you and I have seen each other face-to-face.
{Seth steps in for a handshake with the IWF COO. Verona accepts the gesture.}
Roberto Verona: Thank you, Seth. You seem a little surprised to see me, but I thought I’d do you a favour and give you a real headlining guest for your first episode. Besides, does James really want people to know his location… given… circumstances.
Seth Evans: I suppose… I will be conducting the interview with you! Firstly, again, welcome. Sir. Welcome to Game On. Secondly… I guess I’ll have to think of these questions on the fly, so… let’s start with the obvious: Xbox or Playstation? Or even better… PC?
Roberto Verona: PC. Obviously.
Seth Evans: What is it with James Gilmore that is making you want to take the championship away from him? If you don’t mind explaining it to the viewers who may not be able to tune in to Sacrifice each and every week.
Roberto Verona: Look, I know what everybody thinks. They think that I am just bullying some hapless idiot whose utterly harmless and should have his moment in the sun, but just like McFly the way the audience perceive Gilmore is radically different to the reality. He seems to believe he is owed something purely because he thinks of himself as a hero, because he’s conned enough people into believing he’s a hero. He lacks humility, he consistently embarrasses this company with how he behaves and seems to think the rules do not apply to him. Well, if he’s such a great champion, he can prove me wrong, he can actually begin to behave like a champion, not a cheap pop culture quote factory who thinks the belt makes the champion and not the man carrying it.
Seth Evans: We have seen an influx of IWF talent signing as of late. Is there any one particular person that stands out to you? Just one person that you would keep your eye on?
Roberto Verona: I’d say, given what he just did last week, JC Keeton ought to be on people’s radars. I wouldn’t overlook Zion either, he runs his mouth but then… this is pro wrestling, all that matters is you back it up.
Seth Evans: Who do you think could possibly give the biggest threat to you and the Powers That Be? Any team that stands out that could take those belts away?
Roberto Verona: Nobody. We’re the Powers That Be for a reason, even if somebody did manage to wrench those belts away from Angel and Dean… they need to ask themselves if the suffering they’d go through would be worthwhile.
Seth Evans: We had a run-in, if I remember correctly… back in New Championship Wrestling. Would you ever consider getting back into the ring with me? For old time’s sake. {Seth chuckles.}
Roberto Verona: Who haven’t I had a run in with? I’m happy to stand in a ring with anybody, if it makes the fans happy in their escapism for a week where’s the harm? I mean besides for you when the bell rings.
Seth Evans: That’s true, and it is all for good reason. You were the longest running champion for the nCw World Championship. I say mark the match! When the day is right. But, we did have some fans as well as fellow associates write in some questions! Are you ready for these?
Roberto Verona: {Nods.}
Seth Evans: One fan… a… umm… GilmoreForPresident2k24 asks… if Fiona McFly were to compete again, wouldn't she have an unfair advantage over the other competitors with her treatments? Why not simply just let her ride off into the sunset instead of punishing Caroline?
Roberto Verona: Another person who loves to paint themselves as a victim. Here’s the thing, normally I am more than willing to work with talent, if they wish to pursue other endeavours or feel like it’s in their best interest’s health wise to step away, I am happy to accommodate them. Fiona decided to found a wrestling school which could easily provide talent to our competitors, she actively sought out experimental treatment which invalidated our own cover, announced her desire to work backstage without any consultation with management… then tried to pretend she can just end a contract without IWF’s consent. It’s her attitude that prevent an amicable separation.
As for those she professes to love? They’re her collateral. She can face her fate or they can suffer in her place, entirely unnecessarily.
Seth Evans: Ooh, here’s a good question. WillSamiraPleaseSitOnMyFace69... well that's inappropriate... asked: is there a reason there wasn't a male 2020 Hall of Famer?
Roberto Verona: Because Steven Awesome is unworthy of the title.
Seth Evans: HugsNotDrugs asks: if Dean Harper is evil, why would you want to give him a hug? I had to clean up the grammar for that one. It was giving me an aneurysm.
Roberto Verona: I’ve… never hugged Dean Harper but if that’s how you get your kicks I won’t kink shame.
Seth Evans: AngelsMistress3000… well, is that how many he’s had? Irrelevant. She asks: when are you going to shut down McFly’s joke of a wrestling school? I hear it’s no better than one of those southern mega churches with embezzled monies and unlawful touching behind the scenes.
Roberto Verona: Fiona has a choice, fulfill her contractual obligations, behave like the heroine she paints herself as for once…. Or her school vanishes.
Seth Evans: sethisasexgod… ain’t it the truth? But still... come on now... They ask: is it true you had Angel Blake and Dean Harper at your house for Christmas? Is that...safe?
Roberto Verona: Perfectly safe, if either of them wanted to murder me they’d not need an invitation to my house to do so. Sometimes it’s a thrill to have tea with a tiger, no?
Seth Evans: Finally, a non-sexual one… I hope? BasementWrestlingSpecialist. Do you offer kidnapping insurance?
Roberto Verona: I am concerned… are you ok? But sure.
Seth Evans: ULFisGOD9… asks… What’s the deal with that referee named “Blue Shoes”? Like ... seriously. All of his matches are just ... odd.
Roberto Verona: Blue Shoes is a highly respected in-ring official whose choses to go by a pseudonym. Maybe he fights crime outside the ring.
Seth Evans: Well, those were definitely some interesting questions coming in with some interesting names! And I do appreciate everyone who did take the time to submit questions, and greatly appreciate your time, Mr. Verona. It has been a pleasure! Until next week, though, fans: Game On!
{Seth Evans does a finger shoot at the camera, and Roberto Verona just smiles albeit a bit awkwardly when the camera cuts.}
