The scene opens in the cell of the ‘The First Apostle’ on The Church of Cross Compound. The room is sparsely decorated just a bed and a chest of drawers with three pictures. One is of his old family to remind him of what he had left behind, one is of his new family to celebrate the man he is becoming, and the last of him standing beside The Father. That was the picture he was the proudest of because he was the only member of The Church to have ever had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Knight. That meeting was the reason that once he finally came around to what Lucipher was trying to tell him he jumped in head first. That was why he had no problem what so ever doing what needed to be done to take care of The Church.
Five years in this business and I’ve won dozens of battle royals. They’ve been in bingo halls, rec centers, and the occasional high school gym. Some have been in companies no one has ever heard of, others have been in the biggest indy companies on the planet. I’ve won them on five different continents as I’ve traveled around the world. So I guess you can say that my big ass is a bit of a battle royal expert, which is why I feel pretty good predicting that I WILL NOT be winning the Roulette.
I know that’s not what you were expecting me to say, but The Book of Crosse teaches that honest is the first step towards growth. Constantly telling ourselves this false narrative that everything in my life is going just fine is part of what holds us back from being the best version of ourselves possible. It also keeps us from accepting out place in the world, which is what I have done. I will not be winning the Roulette because I’m not talented enough, because standing six and a half feet tall and weighting three hundred pounds is a lot of talent in a battle royal. No I’m not going to win because it is my place to make sure that ‘The Unholy Son’ does win.

When I took my vow in front of the entire congregation and that iron seared into my skin I agreed that my role as ‘The First Apostle’ would be three fold; I am a student of The Word, I am the enforcer of the values of The Church, and I am a protector to ‘The Voice’ and ‘The Unholy Son.’ Those values say that noone stands above ‘The Father,’ ‘The Voice,’ and ‘The Unholy Son.’ That includes any of the other twenty-eight men that will be inside of that ring. I will fight with every single beat of my heart to make sure that at the end of the night it is Nick Knight in the main event of Night of the Immortals.
