Those who want to take another’s wealth or life,
Should rise early.
Rarely does the lying wolf get meat.
Rarely does the sleeping man find victory.

RISE AGAIN.
2021 was prosperous for Ulf. He had become the longest reigning, and most dominating IWF World Television Champion in history. He had become the IWF Men’s World Champion by defeating two sons of two legends, and one of which had become the youngest to ever be inducted into the IWF Hall of Fame. He was even named the Superstar of the Year. Most importantly: the birth of his two sons. Undoubtedly, 2021 was the year of Ulf.
2022 has not been quite as kind… He was on his way to becoming the most dominating champion in the history of the company, as was his goal, only to be defeated by his dear friend Sabin…better known to the wrestling world as Wraith. He had lost his other championship to another person who would visit the halls of the IWF by entering the Roulette in Jason Cashe. While 2022 was far from over, Ulf knew that he was going to have to make some changes and stoke the flames to turn this year around into becoming equally great.
3:00 A.M.
Ulf stands at the side of the two cribs that belonged to his two sons. He was already in his exercising gear indicating that he had intention of hitting the gym early. There is a smile on his face as he shifts his focus back and forth on the two three-month old boys that were sound asleep. He was lost in his own mind merely contemplating who his boys would grow up to become…knowing how fast this time would pass, and how he would hope that the first memory they would have of their father would be seeing him as a champion. He didn’t even hear Vivienne enter the room, and he jolts when she wraps his arms around his waist and lays her head against the back of his shoulder.
“I smelled the coffee,” she says with a slight moan and almost salivating at the thought of a hot cup of coffee.
Ulf places his hands on top of hers, and lets out a content sigh, “God morgen,” he says in his native Norwegian language.
“They look peaceful when they’re sleeping…” Vivienne says.
Ulf answers with a light chuckle, “But en handful when de are awake.”
“Hence: coffee.” Vivienne answered while nodding her head but still holding Ulf close to her.
“Vi should go get some…” Ulf answered.
“Yeah. Let’s let them sleep…and enjoy the peace and quiet.” Vivienne said while releasing him and pivoting on her heels to face the door and tiptoeing the rest of the way out.
“Sov godt,” Ulf said in a near whisper so as not to disturb their sleep whilst tiptoeing his way toward the doorway.
There was still a comforting silence around the house; a silence that was rare inside of a household with three children. While Ulf was not far behind Vivienne, she had already poured two cups of coffee. She held the mug with the image of Cthulhu on the front out for Ulf, knowing it as his favorite mug.
“Is everything okay?” Vivienne asked and then took a sip from her own coffee mug.
Ulf nodded while slurping his own coffee and he let out a satisfied sigh before answering, “Ja, just thinking…”
“About what?”
Ulf hesitates in his own answer, and shrugs one shoulder and then continues, “Just hva jeg must do to turn this year around. It has not been de kindest year to me… Jeg started de year holding TWO championships,” Ulf added the emphasis to the number of titles, “and jeg lost both of them within de first two months.” There was disappointment riddling his tone when he thought about that.
“Babe,” Vivienne began, “you’ve got this. You’ve got me; you’ve got Thea, Bjorn, Jacob; Bruce…you’ve got all of us rooting for you, and just look at what you did last year… You set the tone for the TV Championship; you won the World Championship. In one year! You stopped the momentum of Roberto Verona; you stopped Rob Diamond…you may not hold the belt right now, but make no mistake: you were a champion. This was just a little hiccup. You have the Roulette coming up.” Vivienne’s voice trails off.
“Det–” Ulf said while wagging his finger toward Vivienne, “–is exactly where jeg plan on turning disse around. Last year, min goal was to become de only man to simultaneously hold de TV Championship with de World Championship, but now…jeg want to vinne. Jeg want to take back my belt.” Ulf said with a sneer on his face.
“The rematch…I know you, and I know you’re not up at three o’clock in the morning for nothing.” Vivienne said as she straightened her posture and gave Ulf a look mimicking a reaction of feeling insulted, “Were you planning on going to the gym without me?”
Ulf played coy. He rolls his eyes and takes another long drink from his coffee. Vivienne swats her hand forward, “Answer the question!”
“Du were asleep!”
Vivienne smiles at him, and sets her mug down then slaps her hands against the countertop. “I’m awake now! Let’s go!” Vivienne finished her coffee, “I’m going to be getting back into the ring, too, so I have to hit the gym! And who better to hit it with than the former IWF Men’s World Champion?” Vivienne said proudly, “Your mom can keep an eye on the kids if they wake up, but I’m sure they’ll be fine.” Vivienne said while walking toward their shared bedroom to change.
The excitement from Vivienne had caused Ulf to beam with pride; he knew that his woman was a fighter and a champion in her own right.
“Da is going to meet us there…” Ulf called out.
