To commemorate IWF’s tenth year in 2023 we are pleased to announce our official re-branding to mark this special occasion. Founded by Roberto Verona and Simon de Montfort in 2013 following the purchase of New Championship Wrestling, the Imperial Wrestling Federation has entertained millions worldwide week after week for almost ten consecutive years. To celebrate this momentous achievement we are pleased to reveal our official new company logo to take us into a brand new era.
Throughout our history we’ve prided ourselves on our ability to adapt, evolve and grow to ensure that IWF continues to provide the best platform for our diverse roster to showcase their abilities and secure their legacies. We’ve never been afraid to make bold decisions and to celebrate a decade of IWF we’re pleased to announce an exciting evolution and expansion of our operations.
As part of our rebranding IWF is pleased to announce the official re-launch of the IWF Network. After negotiations with our external broadcast partners, as of next week the IWF Network will now be the exclusive home of not only Friday Night Sacrifice and our monthly special events (now included in your monthly subscription) but also a new brand: Odyssey. For nine years, Sacrifice has been the flagship brand of IWF but to mark this next stage in our history we are pleased to announce our expansion through a new brand within IWF.
Sacrifice and Odyssey will broadcast on a rotating bi-weekly basis every Friday from across the world whilst each brand will host their own live specials and a combined super card at one of our premium events (Legacy, Survival of the Fittest, High Stake and Night of the Immortals). All contracted IWF roster members will be eligible (although not forced) to compete on both brands which will develop their own unique identities to appeal to a broader audience to continue the growth of our community.
IWF: Sacrifice will continue our company’s heritage under our long-term commentary pairing Vasco Dias and Terri Morasco. We are proud of the strong legacy we have built and have no desire to step away from celebrating everything that has made IWF great for so long. Sacrifice will continue to cater to the traditional legitimate sports-based ethos upon which the company was built where the best athletes will compete to prove their ability on the biggest stage of all.
The IWF Men’s and Women’s Championships will continue to be associated with Sacrifice in recognition of the proud legacies of each belt. Here the best and brightest men and women will compete to secure an opportunity to places their names alongside the greatest IWF superstars in history and carve out their own glory.
Sacrifice will continue to host our historical competitions (Heir and Heiress to the Throne, The Roulette, Iron Maiden etc) in recognition of its continuation of our heritage.
Lending their voices to our new brand IWF: Odyssey are the team of our IWF alumni Rayne and Iyo Kenshin. Odyssey is the home of unrestricted combat – yes, this includes gender segregation – where scores may be settled outside of the traditional boundaries of professional wrestling. Focusing on the darker arts, legacies will be built in blood by those who are strong enough to survive.
To commemorate the foundation of this new brand we are pleased to announce the return of the IWF Invictus Championship – the premier title of the Odyssey brand and the foundation of the Gladiators Division – complete with its own championship. Any roster member will be eligible to compete for either belt. Over the coming weeks we will begin the process of crowning Odyssey’s first ever Invictus champion allowing us to focus entirely on this accolade and celebrate the glory of the victor before introducing the Gladiator’s Division at a later date.
Further specific details will be forthcoming and implemented over the coming days and weeks, in the meantime please tune in to our first ever episode of IWF: Odyssey next Friday to celebrate this new chapter in our history.
Here’s to another ten years!
