“You’d think this place would have better lighting”

The angelic cadence of “The Bonafide Baddie” was heard before her sudden appearance. Standing next to a weight bench, her melanated skin glistened from what many would assume was a rigorous workout. Her hands pressed against her hips, and eyes pointed down. She examined herself for a moment, making sure that she looked her best, even after the workout. As she checked over her pink gym outfit, she let out a soft laugh.

“Trust me, I will get to what I have to say in a moment. However, I have to make sure that I am snatched darlings.”

Picking up her head, CHE looked forward. As a stern expression befell her face, her right hand falls from hip down to her side.

“Now, I know that you have all been waiting with much anticipation for my intentions on my prize from winning the Queen’s Gambit. I know that you all want to know when I will make my intentions known to Jennie Fenix, and the entire world. I know that you all want me to get down to it, and give you all the match of your dreams. Well, I have the news that you’ve all been waiting for. You see, thanks to the Queen’s Gambit, I have the opportunity to challenge for the championship whenever I want. Well, that is a decision that is currently for me and my management team to know. Unlike most people, I don’t allow all of you idiots in on my privileged information! Seriously, I will call my shot when I am damn good and ready. So, now that you have my answer on that… I have some other things to address.”

Her eyes shift to her right. She looks over at the weight bench for a moment, before shifting her eyes forward once again.

“I have had the weight of the world on my shoulders. Ever since I won the Queen’s Gambit, I’ve felt like there have been a lot of questions about me. To come into IWF and have such an accomplishment so early, it’s led to a lot of questions about me. Since then, I’ve suffered some losses. I stepped into the ring with Caleb Cannin and Shelly Diamond, and I held my own. Sure, I didn’t come out victorious, but who would have? Caleb is quite possibly the man with the brightest future in this company. Shelly, even though she is a fossil, has proven that she is one of the best to ever do it! At Metamorphosis, I lost to Caroline Machado. Now, I believe that Caroline caught me on an off-night, but she still won. I still have to accept that she was the better person that night. However, that was just that night… and that will not happen again. Sure, I’ve had a few little setbacks, but we all do. We all have off periods, but we rebound. See, CHE starts her rebound at Odyssey. You see, at Odyssey, I finally put my focus back on being what I know that I am. I put my focus back on being that bad bitch that blew the doors down upon entering this company. I put my focus back on showing you all that I am a one of a kind athlete. I will show you all that I am not just hype. Mai, Mai, Mai Everstone… you’re going to see that first hand.”

Letting out a soft chuckle, CHE begins shakes her head. For a moment, her eyes widen as her left hand rises, and presses against her forehead. After letting it rest for a moment, she drops her hand back down to her side.

“Mai, I am sure that you think you’re stepping into the ring with someone that is on the downswing. I’m sure that you’re thinking that I don’t really take this shit seriously. I’m sure that you look at me, and you see everything that you hate about our gender. I’m sure that you look at and think that I am just some vapid little girl that followed the plan that her daddy laid out for her. I’m sure you sit there and see the baddie that I am on social media. I am sure that you just can’t stand that I am desired by every man in this world, and that they could never get me! Mai, I am sure that you don’t think that I deserve to be in the position that I am. I am sure that everything I just said lives rent free in your mind. Yet, the only thing that is true is that I am a desirable woman. I may have had a father who was in this business, but I am blazing my own path. I have done more in this business already than my father could have dreamed of. I worked my ass off to have made it to this point. It ain’t because my daddy was a manager in a podunk territory in the eighties. I do this, because I love stepping into that ring. I thrive on competition, and this is the greatest form of competition that there has ever been. In fact, the last time our paths crossed, I was the better woman. I was the woman who rose above expectations. I was the woman who took control, and can call her shot. What did you do? You put your body on the line, and it didn’t work out for you. You envy me and the position that I put myself in. You wish that you could have come into this company, and win something so impressive upon arrival. You did not manage to do that, so you have to go about things the good ol’ fashioned way. You have to scratch and claw your way to the top, while I have an express pass. You know, I am going to blow your mind. I have the express lane, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I am the epitome of divine. It has nothing to do with the fact that I am the most appealing woman that is in IWF. It’s because I was the best woman when it came to that match. I seized my opportunity, and I will continue to seize every other opportunity that comes my way. Mai, it is hard being a woman in this industry. It’s even harder to be a successful woman. I won’t tear you down because you’re some weird little girl. I won’t tear you down because you can’t compare to me on a physical level. I won’t tear you down because you wished that you were a goddess like me. Mai, I won’t do that.”

CHE shrugs her shoulders while letting out a soft sigh. Her eyes closed for a moment, and a soft laugh left her lips. As she opened her eyes, a smile radiated from her lips.

“Mai, what I am going to do… is show you why I’m better than you. Mai, I might not be the type of girl that you’d expect to want to do this. Hell, I love the fact that everyone thinks that. I’ve proven the world wrong for a long time. Mai, you’re just another person that has me fucked up. When I shut down LaToya Hixx, the world saw that I was a big stepper. Yes, I’ve had a few weeks that haven’t gone my way, but that’s changing. It changes at Odyssey, when I beat you. Everstone, you can sit there and think so little of me. Think so little of my ability. Think that I am simply this vapid girl who cake walked her way based on her last name. I dare you to think that. I embrace that you think that. I am a beautiful bitch, that’s a given. I am beautiful, I am strength. I am the complete embodiment of what everyone wants to be. Keep doubting me, I want you to. When we step into that ring, you’ll see exactly who I am. You will see that I am everything that I say that I am. Mai, it’s simply elementary. You’re going to see that nobody can do it like me. That’s not hyperbole, it’s fact. Good luck sweetheart, I think you’re going to need it.”

Almost instantaneously, CHE’ rolls her eyes. Lifting her arms up, she crosses them over her chest.

“Just remember, nobody… does it like CHE’.”
