”Woah, woah, woah, slow down,” she says, what do you mean ‘electrocuted’?”
Brooklyn falls backwards softly into the couch cushions, pulling her legs up and under her body as she slowly shakes her head.
“No, slow down, Porsh - I don’t watch the product anymore,” she says with a wilting sigh, “but why am I just now hearing about this?”
The question might come across a bit harsh given the circumstances, but the fact stands that even though she’s been off the social grid for a while, Portia could easily have given her a quick call to let her know about Stephen.
“Yeah, I get that. Ugh, okay Porsh, hold on. Listen, you’re talking a mile a minute here …”
The frustration begins to grow as Portia tries to relay the important information. Brooklyn continues to slowly shake her head in disbelief as the grisly details unfold.
“Woah, ugh … I mean … jeeze girl. But how’s he doing now? I’m assuming he’s … wait, WHAT?”
Wide eyed, Brooklyn pushes herself off the couch and begins to pace around the small room.
“What do you mean he’s demanding a match? Like, why?”
She listens to the response, a soft chuckle escaping from her but there’s no actual humor to be had here.
“Yeah, I get that. But Porsh, it hasn’t even been a solid month since you said … no, I guess yeah, I’d be pissed off too.” There’s a sobering truth to her voice, ”But you’ve got to watch him, hun. Take it from someone who’s been there before - this kind of thing isn’t healthy and is only going to take years off his career.”
She suddenly stops pacing, her eyebrows furrowing as she sucks in a quick breath
“Run that by me again? Jennie Fenix” insert dramatic pause here ”beat Shelly?”
Brooklyn’s disbelief is cut short by the rapid chatter on the other end of the phone line
“Okay, thank God it wasn't for the title. Wait, so if Jennie didn't beat Shelly then who ... no ... you're joking. There's no way - Caroline? I mean ... What do you mean she hugged her? Oh God, I thought you meant Caroline. But wait, seriously? Is Shelly hugging Jennie really what's eating him up this much?” she questioned.
More chatter ensued on the other side of the phone as Brooklyn nodded her head
“I don’t know, Porsh, this might have just been a case of Shelly passing the torch so to speak.” she says with a shrug, “I mean, I can't say that I remember getting a hug from Shea but I mean, it's not unheard of. Did you guys reach out to her and just, I don't know, ask her about it?”
Brooklyn almost immediately regrets the question, but closes her eyes with a sigh as the response takes her by surprise
“Okay, yeah he’s rightfully pissed and now on top of wanting to get back at Tara and Wraith he’s lumping Jennie in there. I mean, I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of nuanced stuff here Porsh because I've given about zero fucks about the wrestling world for almost eighteen months now. But I don't know if someone had beef with me they'd care to drag April into the mix just because we share the same ... no, don't remind him that I've got a sister too. I don't want this to turn into the Fenix's versus the Madrox's.”
Brooklyn rolls her eyes
“Yes, I know. Look I’m really glad that he’s okay but …”
She stops herself short of finishing the sentence. Looking up at the ceiling for a moment she takes a deep breath, feels the air filling her lungs to capacity - stretching them to the point of aching before slowly letting it out.
“Put him on, Porsh.” she says with a sudden gravel to her voice
There’s a short pause before a deeper voice can be heard, muffled by the phone pressed against Brooklyn’s cheek.
“Hey to you too, Cueball. Portia tells me you’ve got a problem that needs to be fixed. I always told you guys I’d be here so … if you’ve got something to ask me, now would be a good time because I'm full of bad ideas and who knows what poor choices I'll make today.”
She smiles as she listens to the proposition, knowing full well what this could mean for her own future.
“Grab your gear then, Steph, ‘cause we’re about to take a simple walk into Mordor!”
She blinks several times as there’s an audible pause on the other end of the conversation
“That’s a yes, doofus. Go make the call, but put Portia back on the line please.”
“Hey, Porsh … I wanted to bend your ear about something else”

One potato …
Two potato …
Three potato …
More.
I want more.
Shit. It’s never enough - this feeling of elation … adrenaline coursing through veins that may as well have been filled with sawdust.
Susie Homemaker for more than a year - building a life
With her
Forever with her
No cap
No crap
The two of us against the world
Until the world stopped caring.
Fine by me - I’ve had enough of this crazy world and everyone in it.
Enjoyed enough heartache, loss, betrayal and fear for a two lifetimes;
And the hits just keep on coming
Hey now, you’re an all star - no, scratch that … you’re a god damn rock star
Money for nothing
My dues have been paid with blood and tears
Why do they still want more?
Damn jackels.
It’s never enough; they’re never satiated; never happy with what they have, only the prospect of what else is waiting for them just around that next corner.
What’s waiting for them?
What’s waiting for anyone?
Around the corner …
Inside the closet …
Under the bed ….
It used to be us - the few, the proud …
The Pack
Neutered and left to rot in the annals of Imperial history. Nothing remains -
No.
He remains
The one who was once Most Loyal
I see you, Judas
There’ll be time for walks down memory lane.
I’ll always make time for you, dear brother of mine
Oh brother, where art thou?
The time has come, hourglass is empty
I’m not afraid anymore
To keep on living
