"Exploration is really the essence of the human spirit."
Frank Borman
The scene opens on the beautiful countryside of Ireland. The sun was shinning against the bright blue sky, and the white puffy clouds drifted in silence. Birds flew through the air in search of their next meal, and the sheep grazed peacefully in the warm sun. Wild horses ran across the fields and the wildlife moved through the underbrush that seemed to be bright and green and still full of life against the turning leaves of the tall trees that covered the expanse of the land. Crickets chirped, and the birds sang in the trees to anyone that would listen.
The camera pans to the vast estate surrounded by trees and high hills on the other. The camera moves to the interior and to the darkened basement of the main house. Cobwebs hung in the corners while long handmade shelves held homemade wine and other liquors. In the middle of the room a blond haired woman was tied to a chair. As the camera focuses in we see that it is Tiffany Jones with a gag in her mouth. As she looks around we see Shaun and Marty standing in front of her in the dimly lit room. The basement door soon opens and footsteps are soon heard on the old wooden steps. We soon see Avery making her way down and into the main part of the basement. Her eyes get wide when she sees the blond haired woman tied to the chair. She sighs, and realizes it was Tiffany Jones. She moves quickly and hits both Shaun and Marty square in the face.
Marty: What in the fuck was that for?
Avery: You have someone tied up that I've been waiting for the last three hours for!
Shaun: How do you know it's her?
Avery: I've seen her backstage of the shows in IWF. Now untie her and apologize!
Shaun unties Tiffany and Marty removes the gag from her mouth.
Marty: We're sorry Miss... We thought you were someone else.
Shaun: Yeah. We're sorry about this... You can never be to careful though.
Tiffany Jones: There was no harm done. Miss McCullen I'm glad to meet you. I would have called when I got here, but I can't pick up a signal here.
Avery: It's all right. Come on, I'll take you to the living room where it's a little more comfortable.
Tiffany gets up from where she sits, and start up the creeky steps. They reach the top of the stairs, and into the kitchen of the house. Everything looked modern, but still had a cozy feeling to it. A little girl with bright red hair sat at the table with a plate of cookies in front of her. Avery grabs one and walks into the living room with Tiffany following behind.
They walk into the living room and Avery sits on the couch, as Tiffany looks at the pictures lining the mantle over the fireplace. One is of Avery standing in front of what appears to be what is left of a giant plane in flames. Her hair was in shambles and two men stood beside her. One was a man a little older then she was, and the other was a giant of a man with a giant pack on his back.
Tiffany Jones: So the rumors are true. You were part of the team that found the Fountain of Youth. Where was this taken?
Avery gets up from the couch and smiles as she looks at the picture.
Avery: That was taken in Madagascar. It was the first stop on our adventure. That was my first time of doing something stupid. Or rather something amazing. As the plane was coming down it was in flame, and were behind it. Dick looked over at me, and said we're going to go through it.
I thought he was kidding, and the next thing I know I was driving through it with it coming down around us. We flew through the front of it, landing on the ground and it crashed. It was the first run in with Viper.
Tiffany looks at her and shakes her head. Avery sighs and leans against the mantle, as Tiffany moved toward one of the chairs beside the couch.
Tiffany Jones: Wow. Why did you give it all up?
Avery: We found what we were looking for. We all went our own ways after we did. I came home to relax until I found the contract in the mail for the IWF.
Tiffany Jones: I imagine it was a great experience. I've heard you know a lot about the world now considering the places that you've seen.
Avery: Yeah. I've been to China, Madagascar, Australia, London, Russia, Africa, South America, the Arctic, Japan, and a lot more. And almost every time we ran into Viper, but that's a story for another time.
Avery moves to the couch, and sits down across from Tiffany.
Tiffany Jones: I can only imagine the things that you have seen Miss McCullen.
Avery: Please call me Avery. But I know you here for more than my past. You want to know what I think about my match this week.
Tiffany Jones: You're very astute.
Avery: It's hard not to be when you've seen as much as I have.
Tiffany Jones: True. Last week you lost your match against Crystal Hilton and yet you seem rather calm. Most people would be pulling their hair out, or vowing revenge against their opponent. But you seem relaxed.
Avery: Why should I be upset? I lost, so what? My father always taught me that you win sometimes and lose sometimes. There were times when we were looking for the fountain that it felt like a wild goose chase and I wanted to give up, but I didn't. So what if Crystal won the match? She's a bitch that doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut.
Tiffany nods, as Avery leans back on the couch, and smiles softly.
Tiffany Jones: Have you seen what Amber Richards had to say about you and your opponents?
Avery: I did, and once again I'm up against someone that thinks that they are better then I am. I underestimated Crystal, but I'm not going to let it happen again. Amber doesn't know me, and I know she doesn't care to. If she wants to think she's already got this match won, then let her. I'm going to do everything that I can to win this match.
Tiffany Jones: Sounds like you're ready for Amber.
Avery: I'll be ready for her. I've watched a few matches, and Amber's good, and she has a little more experience then I do, but who's to say how this match will turn out right?
Tiffany Jones: That's right.
Avery: I don't care what Amber thinks or anyone else for that matter. I know that she's going to underestimate me since I lost to Crystal. But that's not a good thing for her to do. You see she's not only going up against me, but two others and that's never good odds. It's pretty well going to be 3 against one when you really think about it.
I've run into people like Amber before who think they have it won, only to have that win denied because of something I did, and this isn't going to be any different. Amber can come at me with everything that she has, but her win isn't going to happen. She's out numbered and out matched. I'm not giving up, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that none of my opponents walk away from this with the win.
Tiffany crosses her legs as Avery leans forward as if lost in thought. It had been a few months since the adventure had ended and it was the best time of her life. She still had connections around the world, and Viper was no longer a threat, but now she had a new threat facing her.
Tiffany Jones: Those are strong words for Amber. What about Katherine?
Avery: I did a little bit of a search on her and I have to say that I don't really have anything against her. She's a wonderful mother, and a loving wife. She doesn't seem like she's that bad a person really. I'm looking forward to facing her considering that she plays a fair game.
Tiffany Jones: You're right about that. She's nice, but in the ring she might give you a bit of a problem. She plays for keeps, and wants that win as much as you do.
Avery gets to her feet, and smiles back at Tiffany as she moves to a table behind her loaded with pictures. She picks one up and smiles to herself.
Avery: You know when we were looking for the fountain of youth someone else was too. A terrorist group known as Viper tried to stop us each step of the way, trying to kill us, make sure that we never found it. It seems like some things never change does it? I know that Kathleen will put up a fight and try to gain the win just like I will but I'm going to fight just as hard as she will to win.
Tiffany Jones: I'm glad to see you are not out for blood from your opponents this week. A lot of people would be ready to take their opponents down without remorse. Considering your background I thought you would do a lot more.
Avery: What's that suppose to mean?
Tiffany Jones: I mean with your family's background in the IRA and the Irish Mob I thought you would do whatever it took to bring down your opponent. You have the means to take them out before the match this week.
Avery sets the picture down, and walks back to the couch and stands before Tiffany.
Avery: No matter what my family has done in the past or has done recently does not reflect me. I'm not them. Sure I killed a few people when I was adventuring, but I did what I had to do to survive! This isn't a life or death situation Miss Jones. I've made a promise that I wouldn't do anything that wasn't legal in the middle of that ring, and I'm going to keep it. What I've done in the past is nothing to do with now. That's why I think that Katherine and I can get along.
She knows what it means to have honor and to have pride in what she does. She does it not only for herself but for the ones that she loves and cares about in her life. The whole time I was on my adventure with the group I was with, I knew there was a chance I could die, and there was a really big chance that we could fail, but we didn't! That's why on Monday night I'm going to do everything that I can to win this match and make sure that I win. Hopefully in the end though, Kathleen and I can walk away from this match as friends, knowing that we did what we could to win this.
Tiffany Jones: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you Avery.
Avery sits on the couch looking at her and then sighs. She had a temper but she always seemed to keep it in check. Even when she was traveling she had always managed to keep it in check. It was hard, but she did it knowing that others counted on her, and her abilities. Now was no different.
Avery: It's all right.
Tiffany Jones: Do you have thoughts for Crystal? I mean she did win your match last week.
Avery: I know, and this time I'm going to be ready for her this time. Crystal might have gotten the upper hand last week, but this time I'm going to be ready for her. I know how she moves, what she can do in the ring, and her tells. She leaves herself open and that's not a good thing, when there are three of us facing her. She might have defeated me, but she's not going to have a chance this time around. I'm going to do everything that I can to bring Crystal down, and make sure that I walk away the winner. If I have to take everyone down around me then so be it.
I'm not going to play games not when a win is on the line. I know there isn't a title on the line and it shouldn't matter but I want this more than any of the others. How far will they push themselves to get this win? How much pressure can they take before they snap and fall? I can take a lot and I'm not going to stop until I get what I want.
Tiffany Jones: Those are strong words Avery. I'm sure all of you will put on a great show, and do whatever needs to be done for one of you to walk away the winner from this match in the end. I think that's everything for now. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me.
Avery looks over at her and smiles getting to her feet. She walks towards the door, as Tiffany gets to her feet.
Avery: Not a problem. Again I'm sorry about my cousins. They're just really protective ever since the attack on the estate a few months back.
Tiffany Jones: It's all right. I just didn't expect to be welcomed like that.
Avery smiles as the two of them walk outside, and head toward the car that was waiting in front of the house. Avery looks it over, and lets out a sigh of relief.
Tiffany Jones: What were you looking for?
Avery: Just making sure of something that's all. My cousins are harmless but sometimes they can get a head of themselves, and it's always good to check for certain things before leaving here.
Tiffany gets into the car, and soon speeds away. Avery just laughs as Marty and Shaun come outside from the garage.
Marty: Did she fall for it?
Shaun: You saw the look in her eyes. She fell for the old search the car for bombs gag.
Avery: I knew you wouldn't do it once you knew she was all right. But I had to get back at her for what she said.
Marty: You haven't lost your touch Avery.
Shaun: Why don't we all get a drink and then start your training?
Avery: Sounds good.
Avery smiles to herself, and the three of them start to walk off toward the bar. Avery knew there was only a few days to get ready for her match, and she would be ready before Monday night. She wasn't going to lose another match, and this time she would do everything in her power to stop the others from getting the win.
Avery stops in her tracks and lets the rays of the sun touch her face. The rays felt warm on her skin as she stood on the pathway.
Marty: Avery? Are you coming or not?
Avery: Yeah. I'm coming.
Avery takes a deep breath and starts to jog a little bit, and head toward the bar, as the scene fades to black.
