{Stalking is an evil word. But the man in the mask knew how important this was. Lover's having secrets never ended well, especially when the secret holder knew the power of secrets. Amber had left, frazzled and unkempt, like she hadn't slept. Truth was, with a man like Cable breathing down her neck, sleep must seem like an overly expensive luxury. She was headed to a meeting, and in a hurry. She entered a building, and Gjenrei made himself casually invisible and waited. The back door to the car opened, and a lithe figure slipped in.}
" Is this what they teach in America? Can't say it's very polite. "
{Dark eyes flicked up to the rearview mirror, to look back into the lean face, looking back at him through an eyepatch, decorated with some unrecognizable half naked anime character.}
" No, this one is from back home. "
" She's pretty, too. Can tell even though she looks like she could use a nap. Is she your latest attempted conquest? "
{Gjenrei stared into the mirror, and she gave him a cutesey teasing grin.}
" Hardly, I can't really stand her. "
" Doesn't mean you can't want her. "
" It doesn't. Not wanting her means I don't want her. "
" That works too. "
{They lapsed into silence again. He watched the front of the building for her, and the woman behind him watched him, curiously.}
" So, if you're not after her body, why are you here? "
" She knows things, and she won't tell. She lies and wields mistruths like power. I've been asked to find out why. "
" She doesn't look like a manipulator to me. More like she's being chased by a predator. "
{This was accompanied by her nudging his seat with her knee.}
" That's because she is. The manipulated have figured out that she is lying. "
" The hunter becoming the hunted. Classic. It's not like you to have not confronted her yet, if you are so offended by her actions. "
" Because it is not me she is running from. "
{Miyoko nodded. She didn't need to be told who, the other man in the mask made it perfectly clear with a single gaze that he was not a man to be fooled and trifled with.}
" Have you tried simply asking her to come clean? That works for some women, you know. "
" Maybe, but her? I find it highly unlikely... "
{At that time, Amber exited the building, looking in even more of a rushed mess than before. Before Gjenrei could even finish the sentence, Miyoko was out of the car and walking towards her, leaving him with one final sentence.}
" Never know until you try. "

"Diplomacy, even in war, is protected, for without it, we are lost.
That sounds like a famous quote from a world leader or a politican, but in fact it's simply paraphrased from Tom Clancy. Even during war, diplomatic embassies were protected, immune from the ravages of carnage. A normal American in Germany during World War 2 might have been held under suspicion, or even killed. But the American ambassador was off limits, to preserve civility.
Even the most brutal and militaristic nations have observed such traditions. In short, an Embassy is a safe haven, because it represents something far greater than any one nation can understand. It represents humanity and civilization as a whole.
So when you entered and decided to call yourselves the Embassy, frankly, I expected a mission statement. A manifesto that would make me sit up and take notice.
Color me unimpressed.
This has nothing to do with losing your last match, or losing any match for that matter. When you attach a label to yourself, you are expected to live up to that label. Same as anybody who declares themselves to be the greatest at anything has to prove it to be true, a label that carries the weight of that import has to be treated with the respect it deserves.
As far as I can tell, you two just picked a random word out of the dictionary, because it sounded good. Or maybe you heard it on the myriad of television ads you've been bombarded with. So stereotypical of Americans, always letting other people dictate how you should live, what you should do with your life, what you should wear, eat, see, think, feel...
Don't like what I'm saying? Does it offend you as a person?
Good. Do something about it.
Show me the error in my judgement. Fight me with the rage of someone who actually believes in the name he has chosen for himself. We call ourselves Honorbound, because that is what we are, that is how we live.
It has been so since day one, and anyone who tells you otherwise is simply putting his own spin on our story to justify what he thinks. The same as how I sit here and tell you that I don't understand how you could use a word that carries that much respect as your label, when you seem to care for little else than winning fame and glory.
It's almost shameful, in a way.
But I'm not here to dictate how you should live. Nor will it affect me if you listen to my words or not. Part of my job is to offer my perspective on this match, and yourselves, so that is what I did. It is up to you to decide what you should do with it from there.
Or you could just watch the TV and let that tell you what to do and what to believe. Whatever your fancy is.
What I will tell you, is you better bring more than a half hearted over conceited effort like you did last week.
Defenders of the Real just wanted to defeat you.
We will destroy you.
Sleep on that."

{Amber was hustling her way, when suddenly there was a petite asian girl in front of her. Amber wasn't the tallest of woman, but even she dwarfed Miyoko. Ambers tired eyes barely registered her, even with an eyepatch, but what she did notice was the woman was intentionally standing in her way.}
" Can I help you? "
" No, but perhaps I can help you. "
" I highly doubt that. "
{Amber started forward again, intending to brush the smaller woman aside, but she found that more difficult than she anticipated. Instead, she sighed heavily.}
" What do you want? "
" To give you some advice. "
" I don't need your advice. I need you to get the hell out of my way. I have stuff to do. "
{Amber angrily pushed by her. Miyoko let her go this time, but decided to give her the advice anyway.}
" Tell him what he wants to know. "
{Amber turned on her heel, anger flaring on her face, ready to give this little bitch a piece of her mind, but the woman was already a good twenty feet away down the street. Amber thought about yelling after her, but decided against drawing any attention to herself. Instead she just muttered under her breath.}
" Silly bitch.. what the hell does she know? "
{Amber turned the corner and stopped short again as she found the man in the mask leaning against the wall, arms folded, as if waiting for her.}
" What the fuck are you doing here? Are you following me? "
" Cable thought you might be here. I was waiting for you. "
{He ignored the second question entirely, and in Amber's frazzled mind it didn't even register. She simply sighed again, hands on hips, and waited for an explanation.}
" He wants to see you at your earliest convienence. "
" He couldn't call me to tell me himself? "
" I don't question why he asked me to do this personally. He asked, and I could, so here I am. "
{Amber stared at him, like she didn't really believe him. He wasn't lying persay, he did ask to tell her to come speak with him, but not saying the whole story is just as much deception as a lie.}
" Whatever. Fine. "
{She started to walk by him. Gjenrei exhaled slowly, then thought perhaps a little courtesy was in order.}
" He knows Amber. Don't dig the hole worse for yourself. "
" Whatever, leave me alone. "
{Then she was gone.}

{Amber entered her hotel room, her mind still confused. She'd see Cable, but not in her current state. She started to pace back and forth, unable to either calm down or break down. Little did she know, she'd see him whether she wanted to or not, as he walked through the hotel doors moments after her, the mask drawing stares from all the people around.
