Wrestler's Name: Rowan MacDonnough
Nickname: The Irish Nightmare, The Wolf of the Abyss
Gimmick: Rowan MacDonnough was originally your standard party-loving Irish girl, popular at school and the focus of attention for men and women alike. She was loved by her parents and her sister, and all told had a good life. That changed when her parents and sister were all caught in a deadly car crash, their vehicle smashed by a truck whose driver was far too drunk to be behind the wheel. The other driver walked out with just a few scrapes, while Rowan’s family all suffered critical injuries that left them in excruciating pain. Her mother died first, and her father soon after, but her little sister suffered on for days after. Rowan watched her family suffer and die, and watched her sister endure agony for days with no reprieve... until finally Rowan did the only thing she could to help ease her sister's pain - smothering her with a pillow.
The trauma from that week left Rowan's soul shattered, turning the young girl despondent and hollow. Many of her friends worried that she would succumb to the crushing depression that consumed her life... until, after her family's funeral, something dark slithered into her soul to fill in the cracks. Whatever you choose to call it - a demon, or something older and more incomprehensible - it twisted Rowan's hopless sorrow into an all-consuming nihilistic rage.
A week after his sentence, the driver of the other vehicle disappeared. Nobody has been able to prove any foul play, as no body has yet been discovered.
Looking for an outlet for her violent urges, Rowan turned to martial arts, quickly becoming well known for her vicious, ruthless aggression in the ring. Even though it became clear that she cared more about hurting her opponents than beating them, her acrobatic and brutal style caught the attention of of IWF recruiters who saw her potential as a serious crowd-pleaser. Rowan accepted, seeing this as a chance to expand her pool of potential victims to unleash her aggression on as many of her peers had begun to refuse to fight her, citing that she had begun to haunt their nightmares whenever they slept.
It wouldn't be completely accurate to say that Rowan is possessed. Rather, it would be far more true to say that the demonic entity that found her fused with her soul until they became one and the same. Being not altogether human, the Wolf of the Abyss has displayed a number of abilities beyond human capability - including being able to control fire and shadow as well as being able to plague her opponents with vivid nightmares that always seem to know her victims' worst, deepest fears.
"Its said that the only thing to fear is fear itself... and that's why Rowan MacDonnough absolutely terrifies me."

Appearance/Attire: Designed with the intent to frighten, Rowan wears a black MMA top with a twisting, wicked dark red pattern that vaguely resembles a bird and black, padded shorts with attached knee guards. Her arms are lined with spiraling black tattoos that could be chains, thorny vines, or tendrils of shadow depending on the angle, cut off by black hand wraps covering her knuckles and wrists. Her boots are black and lightly reinforced for protection for her kick-heavy offense, reaching about halfway up her calves. Her face is mostly concealed by a black and red mask that looks like a leering, demonic maw that leaves only her eyes and up uncovered. Her eyes are are a bright gold that make her eyes look more like a bird of prey then that of a human being, belying a deep ferocity and hunger to inflict pain. There is no difference between her ring attire and her entrance attire. She never removes the contacts or facial covering in public, speaking through the fabric in promos.
Theme Music: "Trip the Darkness" by Lacuna Coil
Entrance: {Lights out. The opening chords of “Trip the Darkness” by the Lacuna Coil roar from the speakers, and red smoke billows from either side of the entranceway as Rowan MacDonnough stalks out from behind the curtain, golden eyes glinting in the red light as they shift from side to side. The stage and ramp are lit by swirling red light, but everything else remains dark. As the chorus begins, enticing the listeners to follow, she lopes forward, unconsciously rolling her wrists as her eyes bore a hole in the air before her. The smoke seems to follow her down the ramp as she walks, reaching up and grabbing the middle rope with one hand. Rowan hauls herself up onto the apron, standing and ducking between the middle and top rope to step inside the ring. She straightens up, slowly pacing towards the center of the ring as a spiraling pattern of red light appears on the mat, and her eyes scan the crowd, head moving in a jerky, animalistic pattern. She slowly, reluctantly backs towards a corner, eyes constantly moving as she settles in to wait for the bell.}
Special Entrance: {Lights go down, shifting until the entire arena is filled with naught but a dark red glow. The Shadow's Hymn plays softly, growing in volume as hooded figures in bloodstained, dark grey garb file slowly out, singing along with the hymn. They surround the ring as thick red smoke floods the outside, and as soon as they form a circle an illuminated pentagram appears in the ring, flickering red, yellow and orange as though it is burning within. The music fades and the lights in the arena die, leaving the only light coming from the burning sigil on the mat.
A long, dire howl of a wolf breaks the silence, matched with the sound of the menacing opening chords of Trip the Darkness by Lacuna Coil. As the opening riff of the guitar hits, the ringposts burst into pillars of fire as the lights snap back up, revealing Rowan standing in the center of the burning pentagram. She looking down at the ground with her arms held loosely to the sides, shoulders heaving with breath as she rolls her wrists unconsciously.}
Alison Valance: **Introduction as Appropriate, with full titles**
{As Alison finishes speaking, Rowan sharply looks up into the hard camera, her golden eyes flashing with violent, cruel anticipation for what is about to happen. She lopes in circles around the the ring, stalking like a caged wolf as she glares into the crowd, head moving in a jerky, animalistic pattern. She slowly, reluctantly backs towards a corner, eyes constantly moving as she settles in to wait for the bell.}
Primary Style: Striker
Secondary Style: Acrobat
Other Style: Hardcore
Strengths
Vicious Striking: Rowan’s striking capabilities are world-class, beyond any doubt. Her combination of precision and power in her attack means that if she has room to throw a strike properly, her opponent can expect to suffer for it.
Methodical Offense: Rowan is more than happy to pick apart an enemy piece by piece, targeting a body part (usually the legs or head) and battering it until it’s barely attached to her opponent.
Ruthlessness: Compassion is an almost completely foreign concept in Rowan’s eyes. Opponents are not to be respected, they are to be annihilated. She will not hesitate to exploit injuries or weaknesses she sees in her opponents. The high road is for those who want to fall. The low road is for those who want to get where they’re going.
Intimidation Tactics: Be it through the use of particularly painful moves, her unsettling appearance, or her sociopathic behavior and twisted threats, Rowan excels at keeping her opponents on edge and getting into their heads. She also frequently infiltrates her opponents' nightmares and make them deathly afraid to face her in the ring, and keep them exhausted from lack of sleep.
She-Wolf: To those who are loyal to her, she will show loyalty. Though she might seem like a loner, the Wolf of the Abyss is bolstered and strengthened by her bond to her pack.
Weaknesses
Sadism: To say Rowan has a penchant for violence undersells her intent. She has a thirst for violence, one which can only be slaked by the suffering of her opponents. She will break covers in order to inflict more pain, and this can lead to her opponents catching enough of an opening to put her away.
Technical Wrestling: Rowan’s background largely stems from muay thai and kickboxing, two disciplines not noted for their grappling components. A skilled technical wrestler may be able to ground her and neutralize her offensive arsenal.
Self-Destructive: To her pain is a gift, and she will not yield to anyone just because it is inflicted upon her. She is often reckless in the ring, focusing entirely on offense and not thinking for self-preservation. She would sooner endure being knocked out than tap out, possibly suffering injuries in the process.
She-Wolf: She is loyal to those who are loyal to her, and will even risk herself on their behalf - but only for the truly loyal. Her bond with her pack could be exploited, though it may be exceedingly dangerous to tempt her wrath in such a way.
