The Chavez and Warren Christmas
Christmas was definitely the happiest time of the year especially for that of the Warren and Chavez families. The family kept on getting bigger and bigger. Earlier in the summer Dawn Warren and Melissa Chavez would get married but what they couldn’t expect is that their siblings Teddy Warren and Michelle Chavez would also fall in love, give birth to a beautiful baby girl in Marlene, and have an early December wedding which meant that two set of siblings ended up marrying another set of siblings. So now was their first official holiday together. It was easy when your in-laws were basically your own immediate family. Everybody was wearing their matching Christmas Pajamas, and the Chavez siblings were off in a different part of the house taking care of little Marlene. Dawn on the other hand just sat in the living room looking at old photos as her brother hovered over her.
“What’s happening Dawn… You been quiet the entire time which isn’t normal considering you are usually the little chatter box. Is everything okay?!”
Dawn just nods her head as she turns her attention back over to her phone and continues to cycle through some older photos. She looks at pictures of their brother Jimmy Warren winning the X Championship from the NCW days. She then looks at photos of their sister in-law Cindy Warren wrestling to her heart’s content, and finally stops when she sees Teddy’s success.
“I am just looking through how much wrestling means to our family. No matter the place or the time, the Warren family has always been heavily invested into wrestling. I am just happy that I could carve my own path into the business. This year has been fantastic. I already have two World Championship reigns to my name and it’s an awesome feeling… It’s just I want to be able to have success in IWF…That’s a territory that nobody from our family has ever really conquered…”
Teddy looks back at his sister as he shrugs his shoulders.
“You do have a point… Nobody has really dominated there. The closest person to really do anything was Kate when I was married to her and all that was merely a Shield Maiden championship reign. It never amounted to anything more than that. I feel that if there is anybody who can rise through the ranks and really make something of themselves it’s definitely you…”
“You really mean that?! I honestly don’t feel that sometimes… I just feel like I have been off of my game this year, and to start the year off I have a huge match ahead of me. I have a chance to really move up the rankings and prove something to the company. I just don’t want to be a letdown…”
Teddy places his hand on his sister’s back as he looks into her eyes.
“Dawn… You aren’t letting anybody down… As a matter of fact you shouldn’t even care about trying to fight for other people. The only person’s opinion that you need to be concerned with is your very own. As long as you are happy with what you are doing that is all that should matter. Anyway not that I want this to be considered an excuse but this year was extremely busy for you… You had to deal with two weddings this year one of them being your very own. On top of that you just became an auntie of my beautiful princess and are adjusting to life. Nobody expects for you to just be able to manage everything as if nothing has happened…”
Dawn looks back at her brother as she begins to be filled with passion.
“I know but still I want to do my very best. I told IWF for the longest I was ready for booking and all I get in return is missing out on the chance to be in the Heiress to the Throne series. I wanted to really get a chance to prove myself and I just guess it wasn’t meant to be. I thought they would have been eager to throw me into the fray to see what I have. To at least see if I was willing to step it up but they didn’t think of me in that way…”
Teddy smirks.
“Who cares… Don’t hold onto that. Besides you don’t want things to be handed to you do you?! Of course you don’t… You want to fight for what you get. When you fight for things in the long run you are going to feel more accomplished…So show them Dawn… Show them who you are…”
Dawn looks deeper into her brother’s eyes.
“Thank you for the words. I don’t need anything handed to me… I can earn my keep… Now why don’t we focus on partying… I have a little niece to spoil for her first Christmas and a brother to annoy the hell out of…”
The two siblings just giggle at one another as they both go check on their spouses.
BA DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAAA IT’S PUPPY POWER!!!! Oh you know what that means… It means that the Pink Puppy is ready to jump right into the fray of IWF and showcase to the entire world that she is more than ready to ascend through the rankings of this company. I know it has been a while since you have seen me booked. To be honest I have been dealing with some family stuff. Honestly becoming a niece and having to watch my brother get married was two major family things but now that they are over and we are live for a brand new year I think it’s time that I leapt into the New Year in only the best way that I could…
That being with a huge fat win! I will be the first to admit that things could have been so much better for me in this company. I can hold onto the excuses of my brother and my family but truthfully I wasn’t doing well because I didn’t apply myself. Had I put myself more forward I know I would have been considered for the Heiress to the Throne as well as other stuff but that’s a story for another day. The only thing that I can focus on is what’s happening right in front of me.
I have the chance to achieve the unthinkable. I can jump ahead of the pack and I can showcase to the world that I truly want to persevere in this company. I can put every single doubt and naysayers behind me by emerging with a win. As long as I pull out with a win nothing that happened last year will even matter. The only thing people will look at is what I have done lately and emerging victorious will give me the spark and motivation that will carry me onward in this coming year. It won’t be easy as I am going to be in the ring with some game competition. I am going to be competing in a triple threat match and I have two other women to worry about in Charlotte and Astrid.
Where do I even start?! Can I say that I feel a bit undersized coming into this match standing in at 5’3 and only at 110 pounds?! I feel like I am the smallest of anybody in this match. As the saying goes though don’t let the petite size fool you. It’s not about the size of the dog that matters but it’s about the size of the fight in the dog, and you can be assured that this dog’s bite is definitely bigger than her bark.
I am beyond motivated to push ahead of the competition. The three of us are each fighting for something in this triple threat match. We are three of the names that were left out of this tournament. We were left on the outside looking in and maybe it’s because we haven’t really accomplished that much.
It shouldn’t be the case but there’s a reason we haven’t stood out enough to move ahead in the pecking order to get to where we need to be. I don’t know about the both of you but I am tired of being left out. A lot of people don’t really know about me but wrestling is in my blood. It goes to the entire Warren family whether it was Teddy or Cindy who both stepped into an IWF ring at a time. To my former sister in-law Kate/Diamond Steele who fought as the little engine that could. It goes back to Jimmy Warren who had held gold before and people don’t really know this but I am the biological daughter of Markus Reeves.
There are a lot of reasons for me to want to push myself. I am a second generation star and I need to move ahead in this company and I am going to showcase to the world that I can be depended on. Just count on me and I will rise in only the way that I could.
Astrid is an absolute beast. A woman who calls herself the Valkyrie and is the protégé of Emma Danielson! I know she wants to fight for the sake of a good fight. She’s damn near 200 pounds and towers over me but I am not afraid. I am going to give her a fight. Charlotte is a woman who is still looking to gain ground and I can respect the determination.
However there is only one woman in this match who is ready to take that next step. I won’t let anything or anybody get in the way of me ascending to the very top. This is my journey and you two are just small steps along the way.
IWF… Brace yourselves because not only am I back but I am ready to make the impact that you all know I can…
