Itami sat on a stool in front of a green screen in the studio that had been built in one of MOD Island’s many guest houses. She had spent the past ten hours in front of the blazing hot lights preparing videos for the launch of the MOD System in Japan. The past few weeks had been exhausting between training and preparing the materials, but she was proud that they were finally able to go live.
She hit the stop button on the small remote that she held in her right hand and let out a sigh of relief. A few months ago she thought The MOD was just another cult that arose from the ashes of The Church of Crosse, but Gregor Winter had shown her that it was something completely different because he cared about people.
“That the last one,” Winter asked.
“I need to watch them back, but that should be it.” She stood and stretched her cat-like frame. “I just need to proofread the printed material and make sure everything is ready for next Tuesday.”
“You don’t have to worry about it because I had the marketing team read over everything, and I’ve signed off on it. You deserve a night off, and we’re leaving for the States in the morning.”
“I thought we were going to Tokyo for the launch,” Itami said, in heavily accented English.
“That was the plan, but we’re going to Chicago instead.” She looks at him confused. “You’re finally booked in a match.”
“But I have more important things to do.” She walks into the control room to watch the playback of her last few takes. “This launch could make or break The MOD.”
“I agree that it’s important, but there isn’t a better advertisement for The System than IWF. That was the entire reason I decided to re-sign after Crosse died.”
“Please tell me that the match is at least worth flying sixteen hours.” She sits down in an ergonomic desk chair and cues up the first video. “I don’t want to miss such an important day for an enhancement talent.”
“No, you’re wrestling Dawn Warren this week, and next week we've got a tag match against The Ravens.”
“The bubblegum pink cartoon puppy girl?” Winter nods, making Itami roll her eyes. “I thought you said it's worth flying sixteen hours.”
“Remember it's free advertising for The System, Itami. You winning this match could mean millions in sales.”

My opponent this week deserves to be in a bouncy castle instead of an IWF ring. This isn't bring your daughter to work day where she can bounce around the ring a little bit and pretend to be a wrestler. No, she's a child playing in grown-ups' business, and she's going to get hurt.
The MOD System has helped me become a better person, and given me some control over The Demoness. Training helps to keep her under control, but sometimes I'm reminded that she needs to be let off her leash to eat a proper meal.
Since Gregor told me about this match I've found myself distracted. I am trying to prepare for the match but the only thing filling my mind is the screams of The Demoness demanding that I serve up that candy-coated little morsel named Dawn Warren.
I want to win this match and prove to the entire world the superiority of The MOD System, but all she cares about is violence. The Demoness has no care for anything other than inflicting pain, which leaves me forced to serve two masters.
One master that only cares about pain, and she doesn't care if it's mine. The other master wants to see me grow as a person and to help others grow along with me. How am I able to do both of those at the same time?
The only way that I can do both is by kicking in Dawn Warren's skull. I inflict the pain that The Demoness demands while showing the people of Japan the superiority of The MOD System just days before the release of 自分を変える.
{She smiles for the very first time.}
Most of the time I would talk up my opponent and why they will be a challenge, but I don't see Dawn as being a challenge. She is a joke who pretends to be some sort of cartoon hero and frolics around the ring like a child. All it will take is one strike or throw to leave her in the center of the ring like a wad of chewed-up bubblegum.
She won't stay down because she is just like that insufferable mutt she worships, not smart enough to know when to quit. That fighting spirit is the only thing that separates her from being just another enhancement talent, but Dawn could be so much more.
That is why I am inviting her to come to MOD Island to fill in the gaps in her game. I want her to have the same opportunity that Gregor gave me to become a complete professional wrestler, and more importantly a complete person.
I know that sounds scary, and it should because giving your life over to The System is a lot of hard work. There are a lot of times that you will feel like you've lost touch with who you are only to realize you're standing exactly where you're supposed to be, which is an amazing feeling.
Dawn, join The MOD and you will be a champion. We will help give you all the skills you will ever need, but you must be willing to give up childish things. No more Saturday morning cartoons if you want to reach your full potential.
The color pink in my culture stands for the cherry blossom, which is a symbol of change, Dawn. It is obvious to me that deep down inside you are looking for someone to help you change. The MOD can help you make that change Dawn, and all you have to do is come live on MOD Island and follow the system. We will take your potential and mold you into a future Women’s World Champion.
Sadly, I don’t think you’ll accept my offer, which means I am going to have to make an example of you. I will serve both of my masters by showing the superiority of The MOD system yet again, while also feeding The Demoness. When I’m finished they will need a mop and squeegee to clean Dawn off of the mat.
All hail The MOD!
