This week IWF CEO Roberto Verona made a shocking return to our screens for the first time in over two years. Verona was last seen departing IWF television after losing the IWF World Tag Team Championship at Metamorphosis on 30th January 2022, since then he has been entirely absent, appearing only for official press conferences. However, he was not alone. Two weeks ago at Metamorphosis, as our broadcast was due to go off the air, an ominous message was provided for Brooklyn Madrox following her brutal encounter in the Dragon’s Den. We are Legion. For we are many. Last night, Verona returned alongside four anonymous figures offering Nick Knight thanks for his “offering” after the latter retained his IWF Invictus Championship against a seemingly reluctant Mr. Happy. Nick Knight has been particularly vocal about his position of late, but nobody could have predicted how that criticism would have been answered. After the conclusion of Odyssey, Mr. Verona made his only statement to date on Twitter, declaring: IWF.com can exclusively reveal that intrepid reporter Willy Carter attempted to gain further access to Verona after Odyssey had aired this week, but he was barred from entering his office. Carter was informed that the official line coming out of IWF corporate right now is “no comment,” but many would argue that perhaps the ending of this week’s show was a statement in of itself. However, many answers still allude us. Why did they target Nick Knight? What message were they sending to Brooklyn and the Murder? More importantly: Why?
