The Choice Is Yours

{Itami walks along a trail at Martin Park taking in the spring weather. The first hint of new grass is poking up through the bed of leaves from the previous years, and the air is filled with the songs of countless birds. After a moment of just walking she finally stops to look at the camera.}

Many lessons can be learned from the teachings of the MOD, but you have to be willing to open yourself up completely. A person can go a long way in life if they live by a few lessons, but they will never be able to reach their maximum potential. My partner this week, Caroline Machado, is a perfect example of this because there isn’t a single person in the world with a more positive attitude and she’s found herself a tribe of great professional wrestlers. Her real problem is that she refuses to look inward and see that she has to change, or she will always only be known as the woman who had one great match in her career.

I am the perfect person to teach her The MOD System because early on I refused to walk on the right path. I went to MOD Island because I was ordered to, but I quickly learned that was the place I needed to be all along. Gregor Winter isn’t just another cult leader preying on the weak-minded, he is helping to build up people whether they are lowly housewives or world-class athletes.

Caroline, we don’t have the weeks it took me to finally decide that The System is what I needed to be the best version of me because, in a handful of days, we’ll be in the ring with six of the best wrestlers on the planet. If you and I are going to have a chance of winning that match and taking one step closer to Iron Maiden you are going to have to become like water and be willing to let the landscape of the match guide you, even if it’s somewhere that you may not want to go.

Take a close look at the teams we are about to face; any of them can beat the team of Itami and sweet Caroline Machado. We are more athletic than ninety percent of IWF, but Natasha Walker easily fits into that ten percent. We have both trained with some of the greatest fighters in the world, but Serenity Holmes has been training since birth. Does that sound like a team we can beat in a fair fight?

Look at April and Charlotte with them in the match things will not get any easier for us, Caroline. There isn’t a single person in the world wrestling with a chip on their shoulder than bigger than Shimizu because she is hellbent on proving that she is better than the way she was treated in Japan, which makes her a very motivated opponent. I can tell you from experience that a motivated opponent is the most dangerous because they will do everything they can to prove the world wrong.

April is just as dangerous but for a whole different set of reasons. She isn’t like us Caroline because she has traveled the world picking up a little bit more knowledge every stop along the way. Her knowledge is so widespread that when they needed a coach to help develop the next generation of IWF wrestlers they hired her. I imagine she’s forgotten more about wrestling than the two of us put together, and she probably knows a dozen ways to counter your "Jogo, conjunto, jogo!”

{Itami once again pushes the hair out of her face, which is a nervous tick that she’s had since childhood.}

Studying the film and I think that we could have a chance of beating those two teams, but I don’t think there is enough luck in the world to help us beat Mai and Abigail unless you are willing to go to a much different place Caroline. Look into a mirror and ask yourself what are you willing to do to win this match because we will lose if you one to act like a woman that is trying the attention of a rich business man like Suzuki San.

Caroline, everyone knows that you are the sunshine of IWF and everyone loves you. Tuesday night you can’t be that person because Mai Everstone is a tiny little bird dripping in darkness and she will eclipse you unless you can prove to the world that you can go to a darker place. Show us that when your back is up against the wall you can do whatever it takes to win the match, or you might as well go back to Brazil because you are not worthy of being in IWF.

Then there is Abigail, the only other person in all of IWF that is possessed by a demoness. I can see it in her eyes that the only time that she is truly happy is when she is painting the canvas with the blood of her opponents, and the most beautiful music is their screams. I understand this more than anyone and I look forward to standing toe to toe with someone just as sick as me.

That's six of the best women's wrestlers in the world and I have no control over whether or not my team wins. One on one there isn't a single person in this match that can beat me, but Caroline is an entirely different story.

She is the weak link in this match and it's obvious to anyone with a set of eyes. She's the kind of wrestler that is far more concerned with doing what is right than doing what is necessary, which is not the way to win matches.

The only thing I can do is release The Demoness and let her feed on the pain of my enemies. I need to be the one willing to do anything and everything because I deserve to be in the Iron Maiden match. Win or lose I have to prove that I am one of the six best women in IWF, and it doesn’t matter if I have to step on my own partner to do it.

Then again maybe Caroline will see just how much The MOD System can help her succeed. This match could be her wake-up call and help her realize that doing things her way just isn't good enough, which is why her one title reign was absolutely pathetic.

The MOD System can make her better than she ever will be spending all of her time with Fionna McFly and James Gilmore because we will teach her the skills that she needs to succeed. We will bring her to The Island to train with twenty-five of the world's most elite athletes, not a bunch of students. We will give her all the tools to once again be World Champion, and all she has to do is say yes.

If not, well she's just going to be another rung on the ladder we are climbing to the top. It doesn't matter if it's the Women’s World Championship or tag team gold there will be a belt around my waist very soon.
