The red dot blinks, indicating that the scene is in fact live. The number of people tuning in begins to skyrocket up from the double digits, to the triple digits, and eventually to the thousands… And soon, the screen comes on to unveil a former IWF executive, and wrestler, Seth Evans, sitting in a custom designed chair from Secretlab. With a genuine smile, Seth waves to the audience, and leans back in the chair.
SETH EVANS: Good morning, everybody, and welcome to the stream! How many of you happened to tune into Odyssey this past week?
The chat log fills up with people answering the quick question…a chuckle escapes under Seth’s breath. The majority of the answers are “yes”.
SETH EVANS: Many of you are asking what I was talking about with the redhead, Cliff, and all I can say is – stay tuned. With that being said, before we start gaming, I think I need to go ahead and explain… my match this week…
With a mild smirk, he picks up his coffee mug, sipping carefully. He smacks his lips together a couple of times and clears his throat.
SETH EVANS: I’ve been itching to get back into the ring. I was always told how much promise I had, and how I could be one of the greatest, but I’ve seen people come in after me…and hit the big leagues. I’ve seen people that I’ve helped train come in, and win the grandest prize in the business! So… I figured that under my new contract, carefully written, and signed, I would be able to get back into the ring and show the world what I can do. I could have another shot at finally making it to the top!
With so much promise in his voice, his gaze falters away from the camera momentarily – visibly daydreaming of the day that he would hold the world championship up on his own, as his own. He fixes his gaze on the audience.
SETH EVANS: My opponent this week– Logan Sky– he’s a guy, much like me… we’re in the same boat. We’ve watched all of these people come in, take the grand prize, and are some of the biggest names this business has ever seen. We’re both– a little older– he, of course, a little more older than me, but I’ve watched him go, and he’s keeping up with everybody! And so– I’m not going to sit here and badmouth the man, ‘cause, y’know, that’s just not who I am… I’m looking forward to this so that we can show this world that we don’t belong behind a desk! We can show the world that we can still steal the show! Logan Sky– you are a phenomenal competitor, and you have all the experience on your side… But this Tuesday, I make my GRAND RETURN! GAME! ON!
